Chapter 57

Chapter Fifty-Seven

KILLIAN

We walk into Pit Stop, a nightclub on the corner of Hollywood and Vine in beautiful California.

I’m not sure what Heather thinks of it since she hasn’t said anything yet.

Bones told me a few weeks ago that this place is going up for sale.

He owns it, but on paper it’s owned by a friend of his because the government gets a little difficult when the mafia owns businesses.

“Racing themed.” Heather says in observation as she glances at the logo on the building with the black-and-white checkered flags on either side of the name.

I nod as we make our way inside the establishment, looking for the man I was told would give us a tour.

A petite redhead greets us, and Heather is quick to wrap her arm around my waist. I glance down at her in surprise.

“Remember what happened to Cinnamon? Would you like a repeat performance?”

Fuuuck. This is possessive Heather and I like it.

I lean down and whisper in her ear, not wanting this woman to hear because I don’t want to alarm her.

“As beautiful as it is to watch you end lives, baby, it’s unnecessary. I’m yours as my brothers are. I only have eyes for you, Killer.”

Heather tilts her head back, her blue eyes stare into mine, filled with emotion.

I’ve never been the kind of guy attracted to a certain color of eyes.

But hers, fuck, they are like a knife cutting into my soul.

This is the kind of woman you hand your heart to, knowing she might destroy it, but you do it anyway. For a single moment like this.

“Thank you, baby. Sometimes I need a reminder.”

She called me baby. It wasn’t sarcastic or meant as a joke.

It was genuine. Suddenly I don’t care who’s standing in front of us.

This business meeting means nothing. I slide my hand from her shoulder to her bare neck.

Leaning down, I press my lips to hers and push my tongue into her mouth, swiping mine against hers as I swallow a whimper from her.

Carter clears his throat beside me, probably trying to tell me the man I’m supposed to meet is here, but I don’t fucking care. I’m busy. Gripping her flesh, I move her head to the side, deepening our kiss as Knox chuckles and introduces himself to Sin.

Pulling back from our kiss, I wink at Heather as she visibly melts. Her cheeks redden as she wobbles on her feet, dizzy from our kiss.

Turning to the man in front of me, I outstretch my hand.

“Killian Bonetti. Bones said you’d show us around.”

He shakes my hand and nods.

We follow behind him as he points out the two bars, the dance floor, and the stock room along with employee areas. The interior is black and white with checkered flags throughout. I don’t mind the racing theme, but the decor would need to change. It’s boring to say the least.

“Are you looking to move to the area?”

Before I respond, I spot the way Heather's face falls. Apparently sunshine and the ocean are not the most important things for her.

“No. We wouldn’t do that without a long conversation first.” I say, wanting her to know we won’t make life-altering decisions without her input.

“We wouldn’t live here. We would hire staff for the day-to-day operations.”

Sin smiles politely.

“I’m sure Bones will answer your questions, but let me know if I can help.”

I take Heather’s hand in mine and walk her to the most secluded booth in the bar. I slide in first, pulling her with me, and Carter gets in on the other side of her while Knox sits across from us.

Sin spots us and comes over with a bottle each of whiskey and scotch and sets them on the table while a waitress drops off four glasses. Carter pours whiskey for all of us as I take Heather’s hand in mine.

“You don’t like California, baby?”

She raises her eyes to mine before dropping her gaze to her lap as she nervously twists her fingers into knots.

“Talk to us, Tesoro.”

Heather takes a long sip of her drink and sets it back on the table.

“I like it here, but I don’t know if I want to live here.

I still don’t know what to do, but I miss Olivia.

And Bianca too. I haven’t even seen her baby yet.

It feels like part of my heart is with them.

It’s hard to explain. I like being around them.

You mentioned buying a house in New York. Is that off the table?”

I pull her hand to my lips and kiss the skin on the back of her hand.

“We won’t make big decisions without you. This is only one option for time away. If you would prefer to be there, we will go. Tomorrow? The day after? Whatever you want. If you need to leave tonight, we will call Bones and tell him to get the pilot ready immediately.”

Leaning her head against my shoulder, she tilts her head back slightly, staring into my eyes as her lips lift into a small smile.

“I can wait for a few days. I just don’t want to live here. I’ve been alone for a long time, and now that I have you guys, I’m happy, but I still want the other people around. They feel like family to me and I miss them.”

Carter kisses her on the cheek before moving to her neck and kissing her there.

“Spread your thighs, Killer.”

Heather snaps her head, turning to me, her eyes wide, the shock evident in her gaze.

“What? Here?”

I run my tongue over my bottom lip and nod slightly.

“Here. You’re going to come for Carter right here at this table. You’ll be a good girl and be quiet. Won’t you, my pretty little slut?”

“I’ll try.” She responds while parting her legs.

Placing my finger and thumb on her chin, I turn her head until her eyes are on mine.

“Try hard, Killer. If a man other than us hears you, they’ll have to die.”

Her eyes sparkle as she stares at me, a challenge in her gaze as her lips lift into a small smile.

Lifting her hand, she runs her fingers into my hair and digs her nails into my scalp.

“That’s hot, Killian. Maybe I won’t try to be quiet.”

Leaning down I tug her bottom lip between my teeth.

“Trouble. Our gorgeous girl is nothing but trouble.”

Then her lips lift into a full radiant smile.

“Just the way you like it, baby.”

She's not wrong. I’m obsessed with everything about her. It’s not one single thing. It’s fucking everything. She’s fucking everything.
