Chapter 03

“That pathetic, sniveling, little piece of shit.” Prince Renz slammed the massive oak door shut leading into the smoking den in his mansion in Torrent.

“It didn’t go well?” Cain Gentry asked as he poured Renz a glass of wine.

Essentially, Cain was an underworld crime boss.

He controlled the drug trades, illegal wolf’s bane that was unregulated and unknown by authorities, and sex slaves.

Renz indulged in the sex slave trade. Cain had opened his eyes to the pleasures of the flesh.

He’d never been able to understand why one wouldn’t take what they wanted.

Specifically, if that person came from the ruling class.

Wolves had a hierarchy for a reason. That was natural and right, and Renz was at the top.

Cain had shown him so much more than any sniveling teacher ever had.

There was no point in waiting for some mysterious fated mate to appear.

This whole Moon Goddess bullshit hampered the upper tiers of society from exercising their rights as they deemed fit.

Sex was sex. Whether his partner enjoyed it, Renz didn’t care.

Sometimes the fight was just as arousing.

What mattered is that everyone acknowledged his superiority. He was born for a time such as this.

“No, it didn’t go well. He told his mommy and daddy.” Renz downed the wine. “I went through three hours of interrogation with two Elders and a Delta to verify I wasn’t lying.”

“Boy, more wine.” A naked slave ran for the decanter and poured the wine.

It was almost impressive he didn’t spill with how hard his hands were shaking.

Black hair and strong arms captured Renz’ attention.

Wrists, ankles, and neck were wrapped in metal with veins of silver.

Just enough silver to keep a slave from shifting.

Not enough to burn the masters. The light scars on the slave from the silver was another layer of enjoyment.

Definitely made manhandling the slave with a tight ass a pleasure.

“Is this one new?” Renz asked.

“Brand new.” Cain quirked an eyebrow, “Care to break him in?”

Renz set the wine down and stood up to circle the trembling slave.

From behind, the black haired slave boy looked like Jaxom.

Broad shoulders, muscled arms and round backside begged to be used.

Renz enjoyed the feel of the sex slave’s quivering flesh under his hands.

The boy knew what was coming and couldn’t figure out how to avoid Renz’ attention. Absolutely delicious.

“Bend over the table over there, boy.” Renz sat back down to admire the view of his next conquest.

“I take it they believed you?”

“Yes. That witch would be dead by now if they hadn’t.

She made a good potion so she gets to live another day.

” Renz took another sip of wine and enjoyed the view of his new slave boy waiting to be plundered.

“They did question how the two stories could sound different. I told them my status must have intimidated the mighty Alpha-to-be Jaxom.”

A slave girl brought Cain and Renz sandwiches and salad.

She put it on the table between them and gasped as Cain pulled her onto his lap.

Cain ignored her look of fear as his free hand wandered over pert breasts.

The man was almost 50 years old and as randy as a 20 year old.

He’d held his good looks even as his hair had turned from dark blond to gray bordering on white.

Women who didn’t know if his penchant for indulging in the sex slave trade were always trying to get his attention.

It was hard for a gold digger to resist trying to land a good looking, rich older man.

They thought he was a ticket to the good life if they could get the chosen mate-bond out of him.

“This one new, too?”

“Not as new as that piece of meat over there, but a damn fine ride. She’s been warming my bed for a week now.”

“That long? Going soft?” Renz laughed.

“Hardly. She has some fine assets.” Cain stopped his perusal of her body long enough to give Renz a pointed look. “Is it him? Is Jaxom the next Lycan King?”

“His birthday is on the date of the last Lycan King’s death.

His power is deep. The deepest power I’ve felt.

His wolf is pure black which is unheard of in regular wolves.

Only the Lycan born have ever thrown a full black pup.

He reacted to the Lycan statue. The whole afternoon he was distracted by it.

He almost fought me over it. Just like Witch Magdahl said he would.

” Renz shrugged. “If those aren’t enough signs prophecy is being fulfilled, I don’t know what is.

Luckily, the campaign to suppress prophecy was successful.

Wolves don’t like waiting a thousand years for some stupid prophecy to be fulfilled. ”

“So Magdahl was right.”

“Hmm, yes. Those little nubbins of prophecy were very helpful.”

Renz couldn’t help picturing Jaxom in the forest naked and ready to shift. The slave bentover the table really did have Jaxom’s build. Maybe he should have one consistent lover for a while. A novelty. Make the boy love his attention. It would be good practice.

“He’s the only one that fits the signs, but he’s completely unaware.

No one talks about Lycans returning anymore.

His wolf is pure black and big, so damn big.

He’d be my perfect mate. When I get my father off the thrown, Jaxom will have no choice but to come to me.

That would also stop the stupid Lycans from rising again. Dlya Vokodlaka.”

Renz and Cain saluted each other.

Dlya Vokodlaka meant ‘For The Wolves’. They were a secret society thousands of years old.

Not all wolves wanted the Lycans exerting total control over their society again.

Pompous, self righteous, sexual purity preachers, and equality driven assholes.

They set themselves up as the curators of proper living.

The truth was, not all wolves were created equal.

There was a natural hierarchy built into their very beings.

The right thing to do was to run with that hierarchy.

That is what really kept the masses in line.

Every person had a place and sometimes needed to be forced to acknowledge their true status.

Jaxom and his ilk were too soft. They saw value in people that didn’t deserve it. That mindset created chaos. There was nothing wrong withholding value from beings that really had none. That saved resources for those who deserved it.

“We don’t need the self important, virtue tempering any more. It took centuries to finally turn Lycan King Lorenz into everything he hated. One pretty little face and the right mate potion and the world finally got the freedom to play.”

Renz poured more wine for the both of them.

The slave girl’s mouth was now busy entertaining Cain.

The man loved a good blowjob. His hand gripped her hair to keep her exactly where he wanted her.

Whether she wanted to blow him or not, Cain just didn’t care.

Renz liked a man who knew how to take what he wanted.

“So what now? We both knew getting him to choose you as a mate was long shot.”

Renz loved to hunt. It wasn’t just a wolf thing. One got a whiff of prey. The chase began. Anticipation of what the prey would do tested the senses, made the chase more enjoyable. Jaxom had shown his desire to color inside the lines. He appealed to tradition and law to keep him safe.

Tradition and law wasn’t keeping the slave boy safe.

The slave was operating outside the law now.

He had no choice in his own deflowering.

Slaves rarely did. Owning another wolf was against the law now.

It had been a flourishing trade for thousands of years.

The practice of slavery never should have been done away with.

It gave the upper class cheap labor, easy access to sex, and their thumbs on the people.

Criminals didn’t languishing in prison. They were put to work until their useless lives were done.

Some of the upper echelons of the ruling class believed slavery was good.

But, there were people trying to root out slavery across the country.

They had no idea the network that was in place to feed the needs of superior wolves.

Those people did not want an even stricter type of government in the form of the Lycans.

The ruling class was taking what was rightfully theirs. Yes, people complained and whined. Once in a while, a family mourned the disappearance of a loved one. They kept on breeding and living anyway.

The rogue population was the last question Renz knew he needed to deal with. Because some slaves and lower class peoples rebelled, the rogue population had exploded. That was another reason why slavery needed to be legal. It kept the rogue population low, too. Escaped slaves could be executed.

Going rogue hurt the psyche of the wolf.

They eventually went crazy, feral. Rogues couldn’t form close attachments.

That need had them attacking wolves ensconced in a pack.

Those attacks rarely did expose the practice of hedonism Renz was looking for.

The rogue was usually killed before it could be questioned.

“I have a plan. It won’t work if he continues to report me. So, I’ve shut him up. Doesn’t even realize I want it that way.” Renz was pleased with himself.

“Oh, fuck yeah,” Cain groaned as he pumped his seed down the girl’s throat. “How did you shut him up?”

“My parents sent him an apology letter explaining this was a silly misunderstanding. I sent him my own little letter soaked in a potion that soaks into the skin on contact. It smells like my cologne so he smells me again and thinks the feel of the paper is from the slightly oily cologne. He thinks ignoring me will work in his favor. Now, I have time.”

“And what will you be doing in that time?” Cain asked in amusement.

"We’ll get the fake prophecies floated about as if they’d been hidden away and were only just found.

Eventually, he’ll be accused of ignoring prophecy.

I’ll have Jaxom arrested one day and make sure the charges stick.

Then, my dear mate will come to the realization how much easier simply coming to me would have been.

” Renz finished his wine and stood up. “I think I’ll prepare this new plan.

Back off from being the interested lover.

He defied the Moon Goddess by defying me according to the rediscovered prophecies.

We’ll get the new prophecies circulated tomorrow.

There are quite a few witches willing to take coin if they verify them. ”

Renz stood behind the quivering slave boy, bent over the table, waiting.

One day, this would be Jaxom paying for rejecting him.

This would be Jaxom paying for the stupidity of following the older, supposedly real prophecies.

One day, no one would protect Jaxom from Prince Renz’ attention. And rightfully so.
