Chapter 36 #2

“The perfect saddle for your new mate to ride. Your chosen mate, Jaxom. Choose me, now!” Renz Alpha commanded him,

Jaxom closed his eyes as his heartbeat shot up. He was surprised to have the power to ignore the Alpha King’s command. Coming from the Alpha King, he should have been nodding yes in acceptance. Renz must have taken his closed eyes as acceptance. He would never accept that pathetic piece of shit.

The rustle of clothes had Jaxom straining in his bonds.

Slimy hands ran up his thighs, touching him, working to get a rise out of him.

Drake and Hayden could feel this through the mate-bond.

It came out as pain and distress. They hadn’t left pack lands yet.

The mate-bond was strongest when they were close to each other.

Renz knew what he was doing to Jaxom’s mates through the bond.

Cold lube and a hard entrance. Jaxom screamed into the gag and felt the assault on the mate-bond begin. It was like he was standing in a hurricane, winds battering him. Pain of the violation pounded at the relationships he had so carefully stewarded to be strong and resilient.

Drake’s voice demanded he remembered who loved him.

The command to remember their time together became a lifeline Jaxom clung to.

Drake’s first kiss. Watching his first mate grow in confidence as the security of their bond settled in.

Their first run through the forest. Hayden’s smell of pine and smoke filling his nose for the first time.

Hours spent holding him as he suffered the after effects of abuse.

Cuddling his beautiful blond haired mate for the first time.

Making love to his mates at the cabin. Reading to his mates to show them how much he just wanted to spend time with them.

Hayden finding safety in his arms. Drake commanding him to remember, remember them together, tender and in love.

Remember the peace and safety they’d built between each other.

The winds crested and beat down on Jaxom as pain erupted where his mates had marked him.

What felt like daggers were trying to rip those marks away.

Renz’ teeth sunk in harder, tearing at what Jaxom held dear.

But, the marks held. They were armor against the pounding storm trying to steal his heart from him.

Hayden and Drake raged through the mate-bond, throwing their strength in with his. Jaxom screamed in defiance as the storm abated. It was defeated by the love of two men who wouldn’t let him go. Blackness closed over him. A relief from Renz’ rage.

Cool grass tickled Jaxom’s nose. A gentle breeze made him smile at its playfulness. He opened his eyes to a bright summer day. Trees clapped their leaves at him.

“You’ve done so well,” a woman said to him.

Jaxom sat up and saw Selene siting on a log. She patted the bark beside her.

“Come, join me for a moment. A moment is all we have.”

Jaxom gingerly sat down beside the Moon Goddess. She was so beautiful. Long brown hair, flowing white dress. Grace, and beauty forged into a fierce, strong spirit.

“He can’t harm your mate-bond anymore. It is wounded but strong and able to heal. It’s unbreakable. No matter what else he may try, you, Hayden, and Drake are safe from being torn apart.”

“Thank you,” Jaxom said with a fair amount of relief. “Why couldn’t you have just brought our Luna to us? Why all this?”

Selene looked into the distance and gave a sad, understanding nod of her head.

“The only portal to her world is by Ecrin. It was the only place for her to come through. She is the last link for the Lycans to return. I know what you’re going ask me next.” The teasing smile she gave him made her look agelessly young and playful.

“What am I going to ask?” he teased back.

“What makes this woman the only one that can fulfill prophecy?”

“That’s an excellent question.” It was a question Jaxom realized he’d never contemplated. He hadn’t really cared about the answer until this very moment.

“She is a descendant of the last true Lycan Queen. King Lorenz rejected her. Isadora and Millen were two of Lorenz’ fated mates.

They ran after he rejected them because he'd already had his first fated mate, Kist, killed. Of course, you know they were fated mates to each other, too. Isadora died in childbirth. They only had those six months together. Millen named his daughter Isadora. He died protecting her from Lorenz’ hunters.

Lorenz wanted to make sure that line died in order to preserve the line of succession to the throne.

Isadora slipped through the portal to your mate’s world.

She fell in love, had many children and lived out her years safe from Lorenz.

Millen died moments after she passed through the portal. ”

“That story has been lost to history. I’d always wondered what happened to Lorenz’ fated mates.”

“Their story is in a book you will find one day. That will help all of wolf kind accept your Queen. May you treasure her for the sacrifice she is making as I treasure you for the sacrifice you are making. You are the only one that is strong enough to see this to the end. You, Jaxom Steven Bane, are a true son to me.”

Pain screamed through his body as Renz yelled at him. Jaxom couldn’t understand the words. His ears and eyes didn’t want to work. Renz’ rage would have been almost funny if it didn’t hurt so much.

As the fog lifted, Jaxom was finally able to open his eyes. Long, jagged slashes ran down his belly. Blood covered his torso. Every inch of his body screamed in pain.

Looking up, Jaxom began to laugh. The ugliness of Alpha King Renz’ soul was finally plastered on his pathetic face.

Grotesque skin hung from his face like melted wax from a candle.

Blood shot eyes glared at Jaxom. Old man, bony hands shook in rage.

The assault had caused power to rebounded right into Renz’ face, disfiguring him for life.

The consequences of the abuse of power were a bitch.

Through the pain, anger and brutal assault, Jaxom still had the ability to laugh in the face of the Maggot King. Children would dream in terror to see him. Men would look away in disgust and women would beat him with broom sticks to keep him away from them.

Jaxom laughed in victory as Renz delivered him to his Luna.
