Chapter Four
Channing
“Run that back for me one more time,” I said to the engineer.
I was in my zone working on this track for G.E.M. While I mostly worked with Hip-Hop artists, every now and then, I dabbled in the R full titties, slim waist, round hips, and ass that went on for days. Her skin was smooth and free of blemishes. Beautiful brown eyes looked back at me with wonder.
“My apologies, love,” I said, peering down at her.
“It’s okay,” she said softly. “At least you broke my fall.”
I stood her upright and on her feet. A nigga was so captivated by her beauty that I didn’t realize I was still holding her until she cleared her throat.
“Um… you can let go now.”
“Oh, shit. My bad, beautiful.” I released her and took a step back, reading her name tag. “Dr. Baker. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Channing.”
I extended my hand. She looked down at it momentarily, then gave me a firm shake.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Any relation to the Baker on the building?”
“I am the Baker on the building.”
“Boss lady, huh. I see you. Might I say that you are gorgeous.”
She blushed. “Thank you. I really have to get going. It’s my lunch break, and if I don’t take it now, I won’t eat.”
“Maybe I can take you to lunch?” I said, like I didn’t have to get back to the studio.
“Um… as nice as that sounds, I’m afraid I’m going to decline. I don’t know you. You could be a serial killer.”
I chuckled. “I’m pretty harmless unless provoked. But I get it. Maybe I’ll see you around.”
“Maybe you will.”
“And maybe I’ll get a yes next time.”
She giggled, showing off a beautiful smile. “I wouldn’t hold my breath.”
I placed a hand over my heart, pretending to be wounded. “Damn… that hurt, Doc.”
“Something tells me that even if one woman tells you no, there are ten others that will say yes. Your heart will be just fine.”
I backed away from her with a grin. She smirked as she turned on her heels and made her way back down the hall. I watched the sway of her hips and the bounce of that ass until she disappeared.
“Damn,” I muttered.
I might have to start bringing Grams to therapy if this was the caliber of doctors servicing her.
