3. Ozyris Brentley

Imade it upstairs, after telling my assistant to get everybody the fuck outta my crib. PB already had Ginger up there, monitoring her and making sure she kept her dumb ass in one spot.

I’d told him to take her up through the back way so none of the guests or the kids downstairs would see her bloody face.

I headed straight for my bedroom, jaw tight. If that little girl was mine, Ginger had a whole lot to fucking answer for. Noree wasn’t innocent either, but I needed to handle Gin first.

My brother was standing off to the side by the dresser, arms folded, watching her like a hawk while she sat on the edge of my bed with an ice pack pressed to her mouth, makeup smeared and shit.

She looked pitiful.

“Bruh, can somebody please tell me what the fuck is going on?” PB said.

I shook my head. “I’ll tell you in a second. Let me holla at her alone real quick.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah.” I nodded, ready to tell her how shit was about to go moving forward.

PB gave the both of us one last look before he stepped out and pulled the door shut behind him. After that, it was just silence, except for Ginger whimpering.

I looked at her with rage in my eyes, narrowing them at her. “Aye, what the fuck is wrong with you?”

Her neck snapped to the side, and her eyes grew wide… well, the one eye that wasn’t already swelling up.

“What’s wrong with me? No. You need to be asking that fat-ass, broke, about-to-be-evicted-ass bitch what the fuck is wrong with her.

She’s the one who lied to you. She’s the one who didn’t tell you she had your baby!

Like, huh? If I hadn’t grabbed her phone, you still wouldn’t know! You should be thanking me.”

She pressed the ice pack back against her mouth, then winced. “Ouch.”

I sucked my teeth as she stood up to face me.

“Nah, fuck all that. Why would you block her or anybody else from my phone? How long you been doing that?”

This time, Gin sucked her teeth, her voice cracking. “Really? Do you not see me right now? I’m bleeding, and… I’ll probably have a black eye in the morning. She put her hands on me like she ain’t got no home training.”

“You don’t think you deserved that shit?”

Her mouth dropped open, and she gasped dramatically. “You really think I deserve this? All I did was tell you the truth, and she isn’t who the fuck you thought she was, but I’m the one you’re coming at sideways?”

I gave her a look, my jaw clenched. “Do you hear how stupid you sound right now? You blocked her. She couldn’t reach me. I missed out on my baby’s first steps.”

“First of all, you don’t even know if that little bi—”

“Watch your fucking mouth,” I said, because I already knew what she was ’bout to say, and I wasn’t having that shit.

“I’m just saying, Ozyris. We don’t even know if that baby is your baby, so I feel like you’re jumping to conclusions, and I don’t like the way you’re coming at me right now.

Because again, hello, look at me. Look at what she did to me.

” She shook her head, and it looked like she was having a flashback to what had just gone down in the kitchen. “I’m pressing charges.”

I started chuckling a little. Then I said something that shocked her. “Ginger, get the fuck out.”

Her brows pulled together, and the ice pack dropped a couple inches from her mouth. “Excuse me? Get the fuck out? What does that mean?”

“It means exactly what I said.”

I walked across my room and into the closet, and of course, she followed right behind me. I grabbed two suitcases and a duffel, walked back out into the main room, and tossed them to the floor.

“Wait… You want me to actually get my shit and leave?”

“Yeah. I need you gone, because if you don’t leave right now, I’ma say some shit I can’t take back.

If Noree’s baby is mine and you made me miss her whole first year, that ain’t something we can come back from.

I don’t want to be around somebody that jealous, going through my Instagram and my emails and shit, blocking women.

That insecure shit ain’t gon’ fly another day around this muthafucka. ”

Her eyes started to well up. I sucked my teeth and looked away.

“This is really how you’re about to do me?” she said. “I’ve been here for you and King.”

I looked at her real quick. “Oh, is that what you call it? Because from where I’m standing, it looks like you played your part well enough to stick around. But let’s keep it a buck. You don’t give a damn about me or King.”

“Ozy, don’t say that. I love you, and I love King. I don’t want to just walk out of his life like that—”

“My lil nigga finna be aight. But like I said, you gotta go, and I’ma let my whole team know, ’cause I don’t even want you around me. I ain’t even gon’ cap.”

She walked a little closer, crying harder now, and reached out to me with her free hand since the other one still had the ice pack in it. I stepped back.

“I’m not about to do this with you right now. Please don’t touch me, Ginger.”

“Y-you ain’t gotta be so cold with me.”

“I’m not being cold. I’m being truthful.” I raised my voice. “You so busy trying to dig up dirt on Noree, like you better than her for whatever dumb reason, that you didn’t even realize you told on yourself. I don’t trust you, and ain’t no telling what else you did that I don’t know about.”

She let out a little laugh, sniffling. “Oh, I see what this is. You trying to actually be with that bitch? Trying to be a family with her? Like I said, you don’t even know if that’s your baby.

” She walked over to her luggage, set it up properly, then looked over her shoulder at me and said, “I’ll give you time to cool off, so I’ll leave with my stuff, but eventually, we’re going to have to have a serious conversation about all of this. ”

“Nah, we don’t, and I’ma let the staff at the gate know not to let you in.”

I walked out of the room and left her to get her shit. I was done talking, and she had better hurry up, because if she wasn’t out in the next fifteen minutes, I was calling security up here.

Out in the hallway, PB was standing there scrolling on his phone. He looked up, and I shook my head.

“Nigga,” he blurted out. “Noree had my lil niece?”

I sighed and ran a hand down my face. “Honestly, that little girl looks just like me. I ain’t gon’ front, but I’ma make sure I get a DNA test…” I thought back to the pictures I’d just seen before everything hit the fan.

“Damn. I would’ve never guessed Noree had a baby, let alone yours. That’s some Maury Povich shit.”

“Nah, facts.” I shook my head. “I’ma wait for everybody to clear out before I head over to the guest house.”

I was glad I’d had my assistant make everybody sign NDAs before they stepped foot inside my house. Even if somebody had seen or heard some shit, they couldn’t speak on it. Derez would lose his fucking mind if any of this leaked to the blogs.

PB laughed. “Bruh, no cap, though, Noree fucked Gin’s ass up. She ’bout to be looking like Martin in that one episode when he got in the boxing ring.”

I laughed a little myself. “Yeah, she damn sure gonna look like that by the morning.”

The two of us just chuckled for a second, then it went quiet between us.

“What you gonna do if she is yours?” PB asked.

I shrugged. “I’ma be there.”

“What about Noree?”

“I just broke things off with Ginger, ’cause she admitted to blocking Noree on my socials and my email and whatever else a year and some change back.

That’s why Noree wasn’t able to reach me.

But… the way I’m feeling right now, honestly, bruh, she should’ve told me the second she saw me instead of trying to be King’s nanny.

That’s the part I don’t understand. So I’ma have a talk with her. ”

PB nodded like he agreed. “Yeah, she should’ve told you.

But hear her out first, bruh. And honestly, maybe a baby girl is what you need.

And I’m sure King will help out whenever you need him to.

” He patted me on the shoulder. “But big bruh, you know I love you, but nigga, you just threw the worst kid’s party in the history of kids’ parties.

Started with cupcakes and cookies and ended with a two-piece and a biscuit. ”

I looked at him and laughed. “Aye, shut the fuck up, bruh. You lame as hell.”
