Epilogue
I mani stared down at the engagement ring on her finger and marveled for the thousandth time at how the giant diamond sparkled in the sunlight. It had been eight months since she’d moved to San Francisco. Her plans to capture her man had worked. It hadn’t taken long for Will to give up the notion of not being in a relationship. It also didn’t help that for the first couple of months they had to fly back and forth from San Francisco and Atlanta.
She’d had her meeting with Mark Hardy and it went extremely well and she had been offered a position at the corporate office. Imani didn’t back down when it came to negotiations. If she was going to be propositioned by the head of their company, then she was going to get what she wanted. Not only did she receive the pay she’d requested, but her own top floor executive office, and a budget for travel since she would have to go around the world on behalf of the company.
The title of Chief Innovation Officer went well with her name.
She knew that her promotion had left a large hole in the Atlanta office, and she had offered to help with the change during the midst of relocating. The person who now held that position was going to have huge shoes to fill, but now the transition was completed and she was settled in San Francisco.
At the moment, Imani was on cloud nine. Not only did she have the job of her dreams, but the man to go with it. Will wouldn’t hear of her getting her own place when she’d come back to San Francisco. The man had been correct, it would have been a waste of money and she did love his home. The neighborhood he had purchased in was wonderful, and it gave her the small town feel she craved on the outskirts of the large city.
She inhaled and took in the fresh air. She was sitting on the back porch on the wide wooden swing. It was one of her favorite pastimes on the weekend. Will had left home early to go to the second shop. It was due to open in the next couple of weeks. Niko and Will had been super busy with all of the final prep and hiring of mechanics and staff. Her phone chirped. She picked it up and read Kizzie’s text. Since she’d moved to San Francisco, Kizzie had been a big help and was becoming a really good friend.
How are you?
I’m good. Relaxing, Imani replied.
Text me if you need anything, Kizzie shot back.
It felt good to have a friend in the city. Carla had already been out to visit a few times since she’d moved. Her bestie wasn’t going to let her move to the other side of the country and not come and check on her.
Imani did have a few things to do today, but she was waiting for Will to come home. It wasn’t anything too important, but she wanted to wait for Will. He’d promised he’d be home by noon.
Their wedding was in a few months, and they weren’t planning anything too grand. Between her mother Arlene, and Carla, the details were coming along well. The two had been a big help to Imani and Will with their wedding plans. Her parents were in love with Will and made sure their future son-in-law knew it. Will and her father, Dean, had grown close. They both shared a love of sports and had bonded over that immediately.
The familiar roar of a motorcycle engine broke the silence and she smiled as she recognized the telltale sound of her future husband arriving home. It had been a while since she’d gotten the back of the bike and rode with him. The motorcycle grew louder, and suddenly he appeared. Imani’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of her man. He had on a gray Precision Motors t-shirt, jeans and his infamous boots.
She smiled and pushed off the swing and made her way to the stairs. A flutter in her stomach made her smile. She reached up and smoothed her long hair down and tucked a strand behind her ear. He killed the engine and parked the bike in front of the three car garage next to her car. He swung his leg over the bike and stood. He pushed his sunglasses to the top of his head while he headed toward her. The casual move had her clenching her legs together. This man was pure sex on a stick.
And he was all hers.
“Hey, there,” she said. He arrived at the base of the stairs and reached for her. His hands came to rest on her protruding belly. Apparently, their first time together had ensured the two of them would be having a future together. The baby chose that moment to acknowledge his father and kicked hard against his hand. Will bent and pressed a kiss to her stomach. He lifted his head to look at her and Imani fell even more in love with him..
Every day he made damn sure she knew he loved her and how much he cared for her. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him softly.
“I missed you,” she said. He brought her as close as her belly would allow. It felt good to have him against her. She was already turned on by the sight of him, now that she was in his arms, she was ready to drag him into the house. Her pregnancy was going smoothly and they had a little more time together before their son would enter the world.
“Not as much as I missed you.”
Surprisingly Will had been the first to say the ‘l word.’ Imani had felt that he loved her by his actions. He was so supportive and attentive to her needs and wants. He had eventually shared with her the type of home life he and his brother had been subjected to and her heart had broken for both of them at the thought that someone could be so cruel to two young kids. Will and Niko were nothing like their father. That man had been a monster, and neither of the men who she had come to know were anything but kind and loving.
She dropped another kiss onto his lips.
“Are you hungry?” Will asked. His hands slipped down to her ass and gave her a little squeeze. She grinned and grabbed his hands. Any thoughts of leaving home immediately left her. She was starving and it wasn’t for food. She guided her soon to be husband into the home they shared with clear intentions. The moment they were in the kitchen, she pulled his shirt over his head.
“I am hungry, but only for you,” she breathed. Her core clenched with need. She could feel the wetness seep from her as she dragged her eyes down Will’s perfect torso.
“Is that so?” He arched an eyebrow. His hands cupped her face while he placed one hell of a kiss on her. She melted against him as he dominated the kiss. His tongue swept inside of her mouth and toyed with hers. She moaned, her hands resting on the waist of his jeans. He backed her up against the island. He broke the kiss and bent down and hefted her up by the back of her legs. He gently placed her onto the counter and began stripping her out of her clothes.
It looked as if they weren’t making it to the bedroom.
Once she was naked, Will took a moment to look at her. It didn’t matter that her belly was rounded with his child, the changes in her body only seemed to make him want her more and the heat in his gaze set her body alight. She spread her legs for him, desperate for him to take care of the ache between them.
“How’s my girl?” he asked. He slipped his hand in between her thighs and was greeted with the proof of her desire. His muttered curse brought a small smile to her lips as he pushed a finger deep inside her. She moaned, wanting more. Her body was going to combust if he didn’t put her out of her misery soon.
“Needing you,” she breathed. His thumb began to play with her clit. She was close and it wouldn’t take her long to reach her orgasm. He withdrew slightly before thrusting two fingers inside of her. She arched toward his hand. She loved how this man knew what she always needed.
He rested his forehead against hers.
“I’m all yours.”
