Chapter 26
Aflash of heat burned through Scarlen’s core as Bear ripped off his clothing, showing little care for the soaked amber threads.
There was no stroll to him entering the shower, only adrenaline-pumped strides as his body crashed into hers, her gasp of breath whooshing into his mouth, their arms tangling, him lifting her legs at once.
Scarlen curled herself around him, raking his wet locks, taking all of his heated kisses, one after the other, the feel of him entering her immediately taking all else.
Bear’s thrusts were wild and tireless, pushing deeper and deeper, bringing her higher and higher, then he stopped, surprising her as he lifted her to his shoulders, his mouth between her thighs, and Scarlen reached for the branch above to help steady herself as Bear brought every part of her to life.
She closed her eyes, listening to his groans of delight as she made her own sounds to match, each stroke of his tongue bringing her close to the edge of all that existed.
‘Bear,’ she cried, unable to form any other words as he teased all nerve endings until she bucked against him, helping herself, taking what she needed, falling apart above him, legs trembling, heart racing, faster and faster she pushed, his strong hands holding her firmly, his mouth going nowhere but where she wanted.
Scarlen shuddered in his hold, called his name in a flurry of ragged air, then yielded to his enchantment, each wave of pleasure owning her as much as him.
Bear quickly lowered her back to his waist, then went to slide his length into her once more, but Scarlen covered his face with her palm as she caught her breath.
‘Not so fast.’ A grin sat within her green eyes as she untangled herself to land upon her feet.
She shifted him back a step, then bent to her knees, watching him watch her.
The anticipation on his face was priceless.
And before he could mutter a word, she took him into her mouth, feeling him judder back to the wall for support.
Scarlen slipped her mouth away, her tongue dragging slowly.
‘Your turn to be owned.’ He went to speak, but she took him again, his curse trickling into the flow of water, the warmth soothing as their connection caused more steam.
Bear was the only man she had ever kissed, let alone done anything else with, so she guessed she was doing something right, as the noises he was making were reassuring.
It didn’t take long for her to see she had him in the palm of her hand with each lick and stroke, each light graze of her teeth, each kiss.
She held him closer, indicating for him to push against her, but Bear didn’t move except for his hands gripping her hair. His thighs flexed, and more curse words followed, his head tilted back, eyes closed.
Scarlen closed her eyes briefly, feeling lost in what she was doing to him, enjoying every moment as if she was back in his arms with his mouth between her legs.
A loud growl shook the panels, and she knew his release was close.
She eased away, her hand replacing her mouth for a moment. ‘Where do you want me?’
He told her exactly where, by picking her up and turning her back to the wall. Scarlen placed her legs around his waist, causing their bodies to join straight away, and she gasped into his mouth.
Thrust after thrust had her clinging harder on to him, trying to drag him further into her, wanting all of him, mind, body, and soul.
Their teeth clashed, their tongues swirled each other’s, and their passion soared, promising the other they wouldn’t stop, never part as Bear roared, pulsing inside her, their hearts beating as one, his explosion causing her to clutch him tighter, nail marks trailed his back, shoulders, neck.
With their bodies spent, Bear carefully steadied her on her feet, his kisses gentle, his breathing slower. He placed his hands in her hair and brushed through the strands, combing out the knots before running his palms down her arms. ‘Let’s get you ready for bed. It’s going to be a long night.’
‘I’m not tired.’
‘Neither am I, that’s why we need to get comfortable, because I’m going to spend the whole night making love to you, and even that won’t be enough.’
Scarlen reached for some towels, not bothering to wrap herself as she made her way to the hearth to sit in front of the dancing flames for comfort and warmth.
Bear came to sit behind her, his solid legs wrapping around hers, a towel brought to the tips of her hair, where he softly dried the black ends in between placing light kisses on her ears and neck, purring against her warm skin. ‘I can’t stop kissing you.’
‘I’m glad,’ she whispered, stroking his leg with her towel. ‘I don’t want you to ever stop touching me. Nothing feels right but this.’
He wrapped another towel around her front, then cuddled her close, and Scarlen smiled as she peppered kisses along his knuckles.
‘Just a huddle,’ she remarked, and Bear’s laugh vibrated through her back.
‘Perhaps a cuddle.’
Her cheeks flushed a little from the fire, maybe from his closeness, she couldn’t be sure. What she did know was their flesh touching was the most magickal experience of her life, and something deep within whispered it was quite possible she would simply die without him in her life.
Home. He felt like home.
