5. Lucas
Lucas
After he said thanks, Cam just lay there on his back. I noticed the tent in his shorts immediately. It was hard not to notice. It was a significant tent.
I glanced down where his head was and realized there was a chance he could see my dick.
I don’t know why I went commando that day - usually it just made me feel sexy - but after Cam’s reaction I was happy I made that decision and I hardened a little too.
Cam slid down the bench, but didn’t stand up.
He remained seated, and I had to hide my smirk.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
“Should I not have saved you?” I asked, still holding onto the bar, my dick threatening to push my shorts out.
“That’s not what I meant.” He blushed. “And thank you again, I...don’t know what I was thinking. I’m just surprised Cassandra let you come.”
“Ah...that. I have supervision,” I answered, pointing to O who was standing over by the free weights. He waved at us.
“Oh...uh, got it,” Cam said.
Was he disappointed?
“We’re not together,” I blurted.
“Wh-what? I didn’t ask...I-I’ve got to go.”
He left before I could say anything else.
Fuckity fuck fuck.
“So, how’d that go?” O asked, walking up.
“You saw him. He practically ran out of here.”
“You going to tell me what’s going on? Why Cassandra will let you be alone with me, but not Cam?”
“Can we go somewhere else to talk about this?”
“Yeah, sure. I was kind of staring at out-of-my-league hot dudes working out more than actually working out myself.” O smiled.
“I hate when you do that to yourself, O. One day you’re going to see yourself the way I see you.”
“Yeah, okay.”
I ignored his sarcasm. “I mean it.” But then I looked around myself. “I guess there is a lot to look at.”
“Right?!”
We ended up in the main dining hall. There were a few others, but this one was central and the size of a department store. It was so big, I couldn’t even see the other end of it.
“Ay dios mio, this place is huge!”
“I know! I haven’t even seen all of it yet,” O said. “What are you in the mood for? They have everything.”
And they did. I settled on some grilled chicken kebabs and roasted vegetables. O had some kind of wrap.
“I can’t wait until we’re done competing and then I can have an enormous pizza all to myself,” O said, holding his wrap in front of his face with very little enthusiasm. “But enough about food, something is up. What’s with you and Cam? There’s more there than you’ve told me.”
“Okay, Detective Ellis, you got me. I didn’t say anything before because it’s not something I’m proud of, but the short version is that he and I dated in Brisbane despite my parents’ rules regarding relationships and at the end of the games, they forced me to break off all communication with him, took me home, and pulled me out of Florida University.
” O’s mouth hung open as he stared at me. “Aren’t you going to say anything?”
He scratched his head. “So...you broke up with him or your parents did?”
“I don’t know. Kind of both. My dad saw us kiss, and that was the beginning of the end.
They read all my phone messages and knew we were still talking, and that I lied to them.
They fired my previous coach Shane and threatened to pull all their financial support, and like a coward, I just went along with it and left Cam behind. ”
“Well, it sucks they put you in that position.”
“You don’t think I’m a total dick for ghosting Cam?”
“Well, I’m not saying I’d want to be Cam in this situation, but I know you well enough to know you’re not a total dick.”
“Well, I’d guess Cam thinks otherwise.”
“I mean, it was definitely dick-ish. Have you tried to explain?”
“I kind of was about to and…well, you watched what happened.”
“That could’ve had more to do with his massive tent than anything else.”
“You saw that?” I asked, surprised.
“His dick’s kind of hard to miss, Luke, even from halfway across the gym.”
“Trust me, I know,” I replied, smiling. “I was kind of hoping that tent was because of me.”
“Do you still like him?”
I let that question linger in the air for a few seconds. “I’m pretty sure I still love him, O.”
“Damn.” O looked stunned. “That’s…something.”
I shrugged. I didn’t know what to say.
“Well, I guess you have to ask yourself what’s changed since last time, Luke. And if the answer is not much, then are you willing to do whatever it takes to make the change?”
Jesus. Orion wasn’t just cute. He was going to either break a lot of hearts in his life or take one very lucky guy by storm. I knew he didn’t see that in himself, but I hoped he would one day.
“Those would be the questions. The more time I spend around him, the more I regret not choosing him.”
“Well then, there’s your answer.”
But the cliche rang true. It was easier said than done.
Cassandra was extra hovery today. I couldn’t find a minute with Cam alone all morning.
And right now, he was working on the rings and I was on the floor.
I was competing in all six events this year.
Cam, Alex and I all were. The twins had made it to the all-around finals last time, and Coach was hoping two of us would make it again.
I was doing my best to guarantee I was one of those two.
“That was better, Lucas, but you need to hold the plank a little more.”
Of course I do. One of the hardest skills in the entire routine.
My strength had increased in the last few years, so Cassandra piled on the difficulty with that portion.
Not only was the plan to do two sets of leg flares with a handstand in between, but a series of moves before my last two passes that involved positioning my body at inhuman angles and making my arms metaphorically explode from the discomfort of holding those positions.
I went along with it only because it made my routine fairly difficult and even if not done perfectly, it would increase the likelihood of qualifying for the all-around finals.
“Run it again. Once more,” Cassandra commanded.
I held the plank a little more this time, and she actually smiled when I finished.
I felt slightly guilty knowing I was planning on talking to Cam to work things out between us.
If that happened, I was sure that Cassandra would be gone.
After all, my parents were the ones paying her.
It was weird. I had spent the last few years hating how she helped them control me, but without her, I might not be at the Olympics.
She had also shown herself to be a little more understanding lately.
Focus, Luke. Forget her. Remember Cam.
He looked good. Not just his body. I mean, the bigger muscles were great.
The longer hair was cuter. He still had no hair on his chest. I may have taken notice in the showers.
But watching him in the gym, he had stronger control and a bigger presence.
I could tell he was prepared, focused. A part of me was afraid of ruining that for him by throwing an emotional wrench into his life.
And then another part of me thought about yesterday when he pitched a tent in the gym and I just wanted to get my hands back on that dick. And his hands on mine.
It’s not like I didn’t have any guys interested in me over the last four years.
I could’ve hooked up. I just didn’t want to.
My hands, my Fleshjack, and porn had been enough to hold me over, and while a real person might’ve felt better than that, I had been waiting for Cam without really admitting that’s what I was doing. Until now.
I chuckled, thinking about the bench press again. How Cam’s face went from relieved that someone had grabbed the bar to flooded with lust when he looked up my shorts.
“What’s so funny?” Ty asked, pulling me out of my daydream. “Let me guess. Thinking about Cam?”
Where’d Cassandra go? “Am I that obvious?”
“Well, no, but based on our last conversation, and that I haven’t seen you two ride off into the sunset together, I’m assuming you haven’t talked to him, which means you’re still thinking about it.”
“Jeez, has boinking Declan made you smarter?”
“Who said I was the one doing the boinking?”
My eyes widened. I didn’t need to know, but I was always curious about other gay couples and their roles. “What are you saying?”
Ty waggled his eyebrows. “Wouldn’t you like to know!”
“Actually, yeah, I would. Call me curious.”
“More like nosy.”
“More like horny and I have no one to live vicariously through, Ty. It’s been four years. Pleeeeeease.”
“Oh alright! What do you want to know?”
“Yay!” I mock-shouted. “Who boinks who?”
“Who boinks whom? And can we stop saying ‘boinks’? I’ve...uh...done both.”
“There. Was that so hard?”
“Well, it’s not hard, but it’s getting there, bro.”
We laughed. The sex talk was getting me there too, honestly.
“Which do you enjoy more?” I asked.
“Holy cow, Luke. You really are desperate.”
“What? Can’t two friends talk about gay sex?”
“I guess so. I just haven’t before with this much depth.”
“Hmm. That’s kind of sad.”
“Is it?”
“I don’t know. Gay people are already non-traditional. Why should we let societal constraints limit what we’re supposed to talk about with other people and just be more open instead?”
“I...hadn’t thought of it that way. But, also, you’re super horny and that’s making you want to talk about sex. I’m afraid if you don’t talk to Cam soon, we’ll be cleaning your-” he motioned to my groin, “-off of all the equipment at some point.”
“So, I’m just going to erupt and it’s going to go straight through my shorts? Now, who’s fantasizing?”
“Ehhh.”
“What?” I asked.
“Sounds like you’re describing Declan, actually.”
“Wait. What?!”
“He’s...uh...kind of a big shooter.”
“I’m guessing you don’t mean guns.”
Ty shook his head. “It’s kind of messy. It just goes everywhere.”
My mouth hung open. I was half in shock, half incredibly aroused.
“Was that too far for Mr. I Don’t Let Societal Constraints Limit My Conversation?”
“No.” I tried to compose myself. “No, of course not.”
“Okay good. I don’t have many people to talk to about this kind of stuff. It’s weird, but kind of nice actually.”
“So, it’s like a geyser? How many spurts on average?”
“Okaaay. It was kind of nice. And now it feels weird again.” Ty blushed. “I can’t believe I told you that.”
After a few more run-throughs with Cassandra, Coach was calling us all over for a meeting.
“You guys look great out there. I’m confident we’ll be prepared for Friday.
We got the team bronze in Brisbane and I know we’ll do better this time around.
Just keep doing what you’re doing. We have podium training tomorrow, so we’ll be at the O2 arena instead of here.
” He continued, “And also tomorrow, we have something else. This Olympics, NBC wants to do a story on Luke and Cam.”
My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn’t help but find Cam in the group. He looked just as confused as I felt.
Cassandra asked what I was feeling. “Why would they want to focus on them?”
“NBC is highlighting veterans of the games and they’re our team’s two veterans,” Coach answered.
Noah spoke up next. “That shouldn’t be too bad. An interview or two and they’ll be done, right?”
“Actually, they want to shadow them for a day to get a broader picture of the life of an Olympian. They want to start tomorrow morning. I’m sorry for the late notice, but you know how it is. I told you as soon as I heard about it.”
“So, it’s going to be like a reality show? Are they filming in the village? I thought the press wasn’t allowed in there,” Cam asked.
“The USOC is on board with it. It’s just one day and they have explicit instructions on what to film,” Coach said.
“Do we get to see the final cut before they air it? Or is USA Gymnastics at least going to see it?” Noah asked.
“From my understanding, USA Gymnastics will have editorial oversight. They don’t want this to turn into something other than what it should be.”
What does that mean?
Cassandra piped up again, “As long as they don’t distract Lucas from the games, we’ll make it work.”
“No dick talk tomorrow, guys,” Colton announced ceremoniously in the locker room. Ironically, he was stripping his briefs off, unveiling his god-damn glorious pecker.
I need to jack off ASAP.
“You finally realize there’s more to life than dick?” Alex heckled him. It was nice seeing him open up more, especially if it was at Colton’s expense. Hanging out with four gay dudes was good for him, apparently. We were rubbing off on him.
That’s what he said.
Dios ayúdame. That conversation with Ty certainly hadn’t helped keep me flaccid, and Colton’s dick waving back and forth wasn’t either. I turned to my locker and pulled the platypus coin out of my pocket, placing it inside.
“Nah, it’s less salacious than that. I don’t know if the cameras are gonna be in the lockers tomorrow, but just reminding y’all, I’m in the closet, so...you know...let’s…”
“Talk about vaginas?” Cam suggested.
I heard O’s spit take, Colton’s laughter and Alex say “What the fuck?” simultaneously. I couldn’t help but smile. I knew Cam didn’t like to say that word, nor did I, but teasing Colton was worth it.
“I was going to say let’s not talk about sex at all,” Colton finished, heading to the showers.
I saw O wipe his face with a towel and start undressing.
Alex smirked. “Yeah, I’ll believe it when I see it. You four can’t last five minutes without talking about that kind of stuff.”
“You’d be surprised what you can hide from the world if you really try,” Cam said.
That got my attention, so I glanced over at him and, sure enough, he was looking straight at me.
