Chapter Twenty-One
Anathea
“It doesn’t count,” I repeated over and over. “The contract is void. They don’t own me.”
“No one owns you,” Carter said, dragging me over into his lap. “Never again. They never did, actually. They claimed to but you belong to yourself.”
I turned to him as tears streamed down my face. “That’s not true. I belong to myself, and I belong to this pack. Don’t I?”
There was still a tiny part of me that believed once the danger was over, they would change their minds.
The thrill or the novelty of an omega on the run or someone they could save, was finished.
“Ah, sweetheart,” Jayden whispered. “Nothing has changed about our feelings. Unless they have changed for you?”
“No.” I sounded desperate. And I was. To begin this new life with my pack. “Nothing has changed for me.”
The fire in my belly surged until it heated up the rest of my body. I fisted Carter’s pant legs at the thigh.
All three alphas closed their eyes and inhaled my desire. My need. My slick. It gushed out of me. Not a full-fledged heat but something damned close.
“I have an idea,” Carter said. His gravelly voice relayed how much we all lusted.
“I do too,” I said, scissoring my legs together.
“Before we head into this new chapter and we start this new life together, my wolf is demanding to meet our mate’s wolves.”
“Now?”
They chuckled at my response. “Yes, sweetheart. Now. Before we all lose our heads.”
“Too late,” I said as they ushered me to the backyard. We’d been so busy with the legal crap and keeping me from getting kidnapped and forced into some forced, falsely contracted betrothal and marriage that we hadn’t let our animals bond.
We skipped around the steps.
Then again, nothing about this courting was normal.
“I have an idea,” I said and reached for the hem of my shirt. “How about I go first?” My men made me impulsive and brazen in the best way possible.
Piece by piece, I removed all my clothes and stood in front of them, completely naked.
I loved their eyes on me. All of them. Feeling their love shed its light on me.
Then I shifted and ran. My alphas would give chase. The bond had started with us as humans, but now, it would solidify as much as it could without mating.
But tonight? Heat or not? I intended to make them mine.
Their wolves did exactly that. They ran with me through the patch of land behind their house. It wasn’t a forest but it was enough for my wolf to stretch her legs.
When we were done, I didn’t even bother putting my clothes back on.
I was free. Free of fear, and it felt like floating. Nothing to tie me down.
Then the intense gripping of the heat sank its claws into me. I doubled over with the pressure and need. Crying out, I called for my alphas but they were already there.
“Let’s get her inside.” Jayden picked me up and carried me back inside.
Carter raced up the stairs and opened the door. And then I did what all omegas did when biology and will clashed.
I begged for my alphas to make me theirs.
