1. Luka #2

She spins around, her hand goes to her chest and she yelps. "You scared me. How did you get in here?"

I am rooted in my spot, but Jake is taking a couple of steps forward.

This has her moving closer to the window, which pisses me off.

Jake and I would never hurt a female. I know we are big guys, but it pisses me off that the first thing she thinks of is that we are here to hurt her.

Jake must sense the same thing because he holds up his hands.

"We are supposed to be meeting Coleman. I am here to look at the apartment.

I am Jake. This is Luka; it was his cousin's apartment, so he still had the keys.

Which I need to take from him, obviously. "

This causes the girl to let out a nervous laugh. "I thought we collected all the spare keys. I am Adrianna. Coleman sent me here to show you the apartment since he is spending Christmas Eve with his family." She walks towards Jake and puts out her hand.

I can't speak. It's not that I don't have the words.

There are so many things I want to say to her.

Now that she is closer to us, she is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen.

I want to ask her why she is alone on Christmas Eve, why she got into realty, what her middle name is, who she got her red hair from, if she has any family, will she take my last name?

Holy shit, I don't know where that last thought came from.

I want to know every little thing about her. When her hand connects with Jake's, I want to kill my best friend. When her beautiful green eyes turn to me, I want to get lost in them for the rest of my life.

"Earth to Luka." Jake's voice breaks me out of my fantasy of this girl and me on a beach somewhere enjoying the sunset; I realize my vixen has said something to me.

"I'm sorry, what?" I shake my head and reach for her extended hand. She laughs, and it's the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.

"It's nice to meet you, Luka. I am sorry Coleman couldn't meet with you. He said Jake is on a tight schedule. I have this place and one other if you want to look at it tonight."

"On Christmas Eve?" I look at her, shocked, even though I was perfectly fine with letting Coleman show us anything tonight.

"Umm...yeah. I thought you were only in town for a few days. Something about traveling a lot." She looks down at our hands and I realize I haven't let her go yet. Reluctantly, I drop her hand, and I instantly want to pick it back up.

"Yes, hockey," I say and Jake laughs.

"We play hockey. We are on the Mustangs. Have you seen a game?" Jake follows Adrianna while she takes us to the back of the apartment.

"No, I don't watch hockey." Adrianna opens the door to the master bedroom and Jake halts his steps.

"You don't watch hockey?" He looks at her like she has 3 heads and I want to smack the shit out of him.

"No, I don't watch much sports. My brother plays college basketball, so I will watch it when he is on TV.

" She opens the master bath door and waves Jake over.

"As you can tell, there is a massive amount of space in here, and the shower is large enough that you won't feel squished in it.

" Her eyes widen and she looks a little pale.

"Not that you are a big guy or anything. "

Jake is a big guy. We both are. It's one of the things that is needed when you play hockey. Jake is a little shorter than I am and a little leaner, but we are both big.

"No worries, I know I am a big guy." He winks at her and walks into the bathroom and then the closet. I follow in behind him.

"Don't fucking wink at her," I whisper to him and turn my head to make sure she didn't hear me.

Jake tips his head back and laughs. "I was wondering when you were going to speak. I thought you might rip my head off when I shook her hand. What the hell is going on, Man? Do you know her or something? Is she a bunny you hooked up with?"

"Fuck off, man. She isn't a bunny. She doesn't even know hockey. Nothing is going on. I just don't want you winking at her, is all."

"Yeah, yeah. So you would be good with me asking her for her number?" Jake looks at me with a smirk.

"Fuck you, Man." I shove him and walk out of the closet. Adrianna is standing in the living room when we come out. "Do you have any plans for Christmas Eve?"

Adrianna looks at me. "I'm sorry, what?"

"Do you have any plans for Christmas Eve? Any family around you are going to spend it with?"

"Umm... no family around, but I am going to hang out with my best friend. We don't have family in town, so we hang out together on holidays. I know it sounds sad, but it's better than being alone." She slams her lips together, almost like she is shocked that she said anything at all.

"Not sad at all. Jake is the same way. Call your friend and tell her you are spending Christmas Eve with us.

We will pick her up." I start towards the door and Jake starts laughing.

I turn around to Adrianna, who is standing there with her hands on her hips.

She looks sexy as hell with her red heels, black skirt, black shirt and black jacket.

The red in her hair and shoes are calling to me.

Like she stepped right out of Hell to tempt me.

"Under no circumstances am I calling my friend and hanging out with you guys on Christmas Eve. I don't even know you." She raises her hand. "I don't want to know you. I just want to show you apartments for Coleman and be on my way."

"I'll take this one, have Coleman send over whatever I need to sign. Tell him I need in by the end of January." Jake walks over and shakes Adrianna's hand. "Thanks for taking time out of your Christmas Eve for us."

"You are welcome." She smiles at him, and once again, I want to kill my best friend. She walks over to the door with us and puts out her hand, making a gimme motion. "Keys, please."

I reach into my pocket and pull out my spare key. Jake doesn't know I have two more sets anyhow.

I place them in her hand and tip my head down so I brush against the side of her face. I take a deep breath of her scent; roses. "I will see you again, Gattina." I pull open the door and we head to the elevator.

"Dude, you have it bad." Jake laughs as we get into the elevator.

"Fuck off, Man. Let's go eat." We head to my parent's house for Christmas Eve dinner.
