24. Adrianna #2

"Maddie!" My brother yells down the hall to Madison, who is talking to Kincade. "Want to go have dinner and drinks with us?" I am about to tell her to ignore my crazy brother, but she turns and looks at Kincade, who scolds her. She says something and then walks over to us.

"I would love to come." She smiles at us. "Is that okay, Webster?" I assume she is asking him because they are players, and she works for the team.

"Yeah, Madison. That is fine," Jake tells her. I watch Madison's eyes travel down his arm to where Pen has ahold of his jacket. Instead of releasing it, Penelope looks at Madison and tightens her grip. Interesting.

The bar is packed full of people. "Damn, Jackson.

You couldn't have picked a busier place?

" Luka's hand travels to the nape of my neck as he leads us through the crowd.

I know some people might look at it and think he is controlling.

But I love it. I can turn off my thoughts about where I am supposed to be going or doing and just let him lead me.

It's like holding hands, but it's so much better because he can stay by my side instead of dragging me along.

"Sorry, they have the best burgers in town.

I didn't think both teams would show up here.

" He is right. There are tons of tall, big men dressed in suits.

Jackson waves to a waitress. She must know him because she beams at him.

She is clearing off a table and even though other people are waiting, she motions for him to go over there.

"This enough room for you, Jackson?" the waitress asks. She is a little thing; can't be more than 5'4. Her short pink hair contrasts with her olive skin.

"Yeah, Bailey. Thanks." I watch my brother's eyes light up when he says her name.

"Great game last night." She pats his arm and turns to walk away.

"Bailey," he grabs her hand, and I watch her breath hitch. This is my sister Adrianna." He motions toward me. "This is her boyfriend, Luka. He plays for the Mustangs, as well as Jake and Madison, who works with them." He motions to them and then to Penelope. "This is Pen, my sister's best friend."

Bailey gives a small wave, "Nice to meet y'all. If you want to have a seat, I can send someone over to take your drink order."

"You aren't going to wait on us?" Jackson gives her his puppy dog eyes that work on everyone.

She crosses her arms across her chest; I guess they don't work on her.

"No, the last time you boys were in, you caused a ruckus and got me in trouble.

They wouldn't let me waitress for a few days.

So someone else can deal with you tonight.

I can't get in trouble again." She pulls her hand away from his and walks away.

My poor brother looks like she slapped him.

"You okay, Jackson?" Luka pulls the chair out for me and I sit as my brother plops down next to me.

"I didn't mean to get her in trouble. I didn't know they pulled her off the floor because of us. She is a great waitress. She really needs the money. She takes care of her mom. I feel bad." I pat my brother's arm and Luka mumbles something as he sits down next to me.

Luka gets up to go to the restroom. I watch him as he makes his way back to our table. First, he stops by some guy who looks like he is running the place and then he stops by Bailey. They exchange a few words and Luka hands her something. He comes and sits back down.

"What was that?" I lean against him.

"Nothing. Just making sure Bailey is taken care of, your brother seems to like her."

"He does, doesn't he?" I watch as my brother walks over and pulls on a piece of Bailey's pink hair.

My eyes zone past my brother and land on the three guys from outside the stadium this afternoon.

They are standing around the bar, and Tucker is standing with them.

"Who are those guys?" I point to the men at the bar.

"Those are the assholes from before the game, aren't they?" Penelope pulls herself from her conversation with Madison.

"What do you mean assholes from before the game?" Surprisingly, it isn't Luka that asks the question, but Jake.

"They were giving Addy and Jackson shit for wearing Luka's jersey. Totally dicks." Penelope shoves a mozzarella stick into her mouth.

"Those are Tucker's brothers." Madison leans across the table and whispers. "He had me get them tickets to the game today."

"Well, that makes sense." I reach for my drink, but Luka's hand in my vision stops me. He takes my chin between two fingers and turns my head to his.

"Did they bother you, Gattina?"

"No, Luka. They didn't. Like Pen said, they were just assholes. Didn't do anything." He doesn't look convinced, so I take his face in my hands and kiss his nose. "I am fine, Luka."

As soon as I get him calmed down, I hear the asshole's voice. "Fancy seeing you here, Addy Holloway." I feel Luka's face tense under my hands.

"Luka, don't," I whisper to him, praying he will listen to me.

"Even after everything I told you, you just couldn't stay away from the Rizzoli." The dumbass keeps talking.

"Hey, leave my sister alone, asshole." I close my eyes and breath. The last thing I need is all these men to get into it and cause a scene. Poor Bailey was right.

The asshole raises his hands in a surrender motion, which causes his other two brothers and Tucker to stand behind him. "Don't want to cause a problem, Jackson. Just came over to chat."

"Rizzoli, are you trying to cause shit with my brother because he came over and said hi to your girl?

" Tucker's dumbass speaks up behind his brother.

"You took everything from us and you are afraid my brother is going to steal her away?

" Tucker steps around his brother and gets into Luka's face.

"You would deserve it." He hisses and Luka jumps up.

Which makes everyone else at the table jump up as well.

"Shit." Jake grabs Luka's arm and tries to pull him back. I push against his chest.

"It isn't worth it, Luka. I am right here. I am fine." I plead with him and push against his chest. I can vaguely hear my brother giving Tucker shit, but I can't focus on him right now.

"I will fucking kill any of you if you go near her again." Luka is yelling over my head, throwing his hands at Tucker and his brothers. He pushes against me, trying to get closer to them.

"I will never leave you," I scream at him, hoping to get him to stop.

He does. His head snaps down and he looks at me. I can see the rage still in his eyes.

"Promise." He says through gritted teeth.

"I promise. Promise you won't leave me?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Never." He reaches down and cups my cheeks.

"Such a little fucking bitch. Letting everyone else fight your battles.

" Tucker shouts and his brother lunges toward Luka.

Luka spins us so that his back is to Tucker and holds me close to his chest to protect me, but the hit never comes.

I peek out from under Luka's arm to see Jake holding Tucker's brother's fist in his hand.

Madison steps up between Luka and Tucker.

Jackson tries to pull her away, but she shakes him off.

"Tucker, you and your brothers have two seconds to get out of here. I will take care of your tab. Head to the hotel and wait for Kincade there." Madison's voice is stern.

"Do you think I need to listen to a social media bitch like you?" Tucker laughs at her.
