Chapter 19 Thank You #2
Fuck. I had fucked up. He didn’t want this. I misunderstood. I broke the rules. He wanted to be professional. I had pushed too far. I should have just bought another LEGO. I was so aroused it hurt. I might start crying—
“I should be pleasuring you,” he said.
I shook my head, unsure if I had heard him right. My smile returned as I replayed the words in my head.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Unequivocally,” he said.
My smile was blinding. Only Jack would say something like that at a time like this.
“Okay,” I replied, without a hint of hesitation.
Then, I stood and peeled my shirt over my head before dropping it at his feet. I stood before him in the dim light wearing only jeans and a sheer, lacey bra the color of ripe cherries. Fuck being professional. It was a stupid rule.
His expression turned feral.
Then, he sank to his knees before me, just like I had knelt before him only moments ago. He grasped me on either side of my waist and pressed his lips to my stomach.
My hands found his hair again, gently pulling and encouraging him as he moved up to kiss and suck my breasts through the thin lace. This was ecstasy. But I wanted more. My poor body was aching for everything he could give me.
“Jack,” I keened—a question and a command.
In answer, he pulled me down to my knees with him and kissed my mouth savagely. I returned the kiss with wild abandon.
Then, I was leaning back on the mat, stretched out with my hair fanning around me. Jack lay over me, propped on his elbows, hips pressed right where I wanted him between my thighs.
He claimed my mouth again, our tongues swirling together as we both tasted and took.
I ground my hips up, pressing my center against his erection through our jeans, and we both groaned.
I could have gone on like this for eternity and never wanted for anything ever again—as long as our bodies were together and his lips were on mine.
But no. It wasn’t enough. I wanted more. I wanted to feel his skin against me everywhere. I wanted him inside me. I wanted him to fuck me until I screamed.
This train of thought was insane. Fucking wasn’t kissing. If we crossed that line, there would be no going back. But as we ground against each other, and he kissed away my last remaining brain cells, I forgot why it would be a bad idea.
I broke the kiss and held his face in my hands. He had no choice but to look me dead in the eyes.
“I get it if you say no, because I’m about to say something crazy,” I panted. “But I really want you to fuck me right now.”
He stared at me for a minute while his brain, presumably just as fuzzy as mine from champagne and oxytocin, tried to process my words.
After a moment, he rolled his hips against mine, pressing his erection firmly into my center, and made a low, feral sound in the back of his throat.
Hell yes! This was happening. We were going to—
He froze. “I don’t have a condom.”
I smiled at him. This man was so impossibly considerate. I dragged my fingers across his scalp, luxuriating in the feeling of his thick hair.
“That’s okay. I have an IUD. And I’m clean. I’ve been tested since my last partner.”
I could see the wheels turning in his brain as my words sank in. “Alright,” he panted. “I’m clean, too. So… you’re sure, Princess? You want… you want me to—”
“Unequivocally,” I purred as I pulled his face back to mine for another sensual kiss.
A moan escaped him, and we got lost in each other again. Our kisses were slow and deep and all-consuming, and we began to remove each other’s clothes.
Jack kicked off his shoes.
I pulled his sweater over his head.
He unbuttoned and unzipped my jeans and slid a hand inside. I whimpered and arched back off the mat as he found my dripping center and drew the arousal up to circle my clit.
“So perfect,” he murmured. “I can’t believe this is happening.”
The sound I made in reply was somewhere between a purr and a cry. I held onto him for dear life while he continued to stroke and massage my most sensitive places.
But before either of us were able to slide our pants down over our hips, the door opened, and someone flicked on the overhead lights. I was momentarily blinded as the room flooded with fluorescent light and thumping house music.
“Hey, Jack?” called a familiar voice. “Are you in—oh shit!”
I shrieked, and Jack wrenched his hand out of my underwear and rolled off of me, revealing a man standing in the doorway, staring at us with eyes wide and mouth agape. I grabbed my shirt and covered my breasts as quickly as I could.
“Fuck! Alan!” Jack barked.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Alan croaked. “Is that Melanie?”
“Hi, Alan,” I said as casually as I could in spite of my face burning.
“Dude, get out of here!” Jack said, and I had to agree.
“Right. Yeah. Carry on! Forget I was here!”
The door closed with a bang as Alan abruptly departed, leaving on the blinding overhead lights. At least the sounds of the dance music were suddenly muffled again.
Jack dropped his head to his hand before glancing over to me. “Fucking Alan… I’m so sorry about that.”
I bit back a smile. This whole situation couldn’t have been more ridiculous if we had planned it. “He’s a good friend,” I said. “He was probably just wondering where you disappeared to.”
“He’s a fucking terrible friend,” Jack countered, shooting me a half smile. “Though now that I think about it, I was supposed to bring him a drink refill. I guess that makes me the terrible friend.”
He looked absolutely stunning on his knees next to me. His lips were red and puffy from our kisses, and his chest was flushed and glistening with a thin sheen of sweat. A peek down at his jeans revealed a telltale bulge that belied what we had just been caught doing more than anything else.
I glanced down at my similarly debauched state and couldn’t help but giggle.
This was beyond ill-advised. This had been downright reckless.
But somehow, I couldn’t find it within myself to be upset.
The interruption hadn’t changed anything for me.
The question was whether Jack had come to his senses in the harsh, fluorescent light.
Jack groaned and swiped a hand down his face again. “I should go talk to him,” he said, sounding like he’d rather do anything else.
A rock fell into my stomach. His fingers were probably still wet, and he was already regretting this.
“Probably,” I agreed, pulling on my shirt. “We wouldn’t want him to say anything to anyone.”
I got to my feet and buttoned up my jeans.
My hair was a wreck from Jack’s roving hands, so I tied it back in a ponytail until I could brush out the tangles.
I didn’t even want to consider what my makeup looked like.
I was going to have to go straight back to my apartment before anyone saw me like this.
Jack, on the other hand, looked perfectly put together in no time at all. The only indication that he had just been rolling around the wrestling room was a healthy flush to his cheeks.
He paused with my hand on the door and looked back at me. “I’m sorry—”
Righteous indignation flared inside me. How dare he apologize like this was some kind of mistake? We were two, consenting adults and had done nothing wrong, though, admittedly, our choice of location could have been better.
“Well, I’m not,” I said. “I’m glad—”
“No,” he interrupted. “I’m sorry we had to stop before you came. I owe you an orgasm.”
My mouth opened into an O as he stepped into the hall and the door fell closed.
