By the time we’d finished with her, there was no way Kiera was making it home on a bike. She could hardly sit up, let alone keep her grip around my waist.

So the backseat of Dom’s gold Camaro it was. She was reluctant to let us take Kiera home in it, worried she’d ruin the vintage leather seats somehow. But it only took a moment for her to realize that our captive was far too exhausted to hold herself up on a bike.

Not that Kiera’s exhaustion stopped her from ripping on Dom’s precious car.

“You had time to restore a vintage Camaro? Not so busy at that tech job after all.” She quipped.

Dom didn’t dignify her with a response. And even so, I could see the admiration in Kiera’s eyes. It was a beautiful car, a shimmering gold that didn’t exist in the car world anymore. There wasn’t a single spot of rust on the ‘67 beast.

In the golden hour sunset, the car almost became invisible.

Despite Dom’s bitching, I was thrilled to get a ride home. Some water and a fresh set of clothes took Kiera from a speechless puddle on the floor to a sleepy little thing resting her head against my chest in the backseat.

And though I loved having her wrapped around me on the bike, riding bitch had its advantages. Namely that I could admire her beautiful face as she dozed off, the way her delicate little fists balled into my shirt.

God, she’s perfect.

When Dom first suggested initiating her, I’d been nervous how she’d take it. But our little captive handled it like a champ. And now that she was ours, all that was left to do was reward her with a bit of TLC.

And arrange her mark. But that can wait for later…

Before my thoughts could drift far, Kiera made a soft little noise before nuzzling closer. I looped my arms around her tighter, and it took all of my restraint not to squeeze.

She has no business being this adorable.

Her eyelids flickered as she floated somewhere between waking and dreams, and a part of me couldn’t help hoping that she might find me there. She looked so… innocent. Though I knew after what had happened in the shop that she was anything but.

What a fucking woman.

Before long, we were taking the familiar curve up the long driveway, and I knew my time in this little haven was coming to an end. Dom pulled to a gentle stop in front of the main entrance, more for the car’s benefit than for Kiera’s, and hopped out with a sigh.

Leo peered back at me over her shoulder. “Need help with the precious cargo?”

“I’ve got her.” I smiled down at her, tucking a loose strand of that pretty red hair behind her ear. “Just pop the door for me, would you?”

With one last wayward glance, Leo popped out of the car, gently swinging the door open for me.

“Kiera…” I murmured, kissing her temple while my right hand rubbed her arm.

“Mmmm?” She cracked her eye open before nuzzling into my chest again, still half asleep.

“Bunny, we’re home. Time to get up.”

“Noo…” she groaned softly, gripping my shirt tighter. With her big t-shirt and messy hair, she looked like a little kid who’d fallen asleep on a long night drive. Just the thought was enough to make my heart burst.

“Any fucking day…” Dom shouted before Leo stepped over to her, no doubt chastising her in hushed tones.

A smile tugging at my lips, I leaned my head against Kiera’s. “Do you want me to carry you?”

“Please?” A little sigh passed from her lips, and I knew in that moment I would do anything she dared to ask.

“Okay, hold on.” I pulled away from her and stood, getting my legs beneath me outside of the car before reaching in to grab her. Her arms looped limply around my neck, but I knew she was too tired to hold them there under any real weight.

But the second I had her lifted, Dom snarled. “Jesus Christ, she can’t walk herself upstairs?”

I lifted a brow, adjusting my grip around Kiera’s back to rest her head against my shoulder. Dom wasn’t stupid enough to think her suggestion was feasible, but it wouldn’t stop her from saying it.

“I don’t know, Dom. Why don’t we chain you up like that and see how you handle the stairs afterward?”

“Don’t get smart.” She grumbled, storming over to slam the passenger side door behind me. “Now if you’ll excuse me…”

“Heading out?” Leo stepped closer, arms crossed over her chest.

“There’s still work to do.”

“Now?” I lifted my gaze to the starry sky above us before pinning Dom with a skeptical glance.

“Yes, Moore. Even now.” She didn’t give us another opportunity to question her on it. She just tucked into the driver’s seat of the gold Camaro and peeled off into the night, leaving us in her dust.

With Kiera still sleeping peacefully in my arms, I turned to look over at Leo. “What crawled up her ass?”

Leo bit her lip, still staring down the driveway after Dom. “I don’t know. But I don’t like it.”

We’d both noticed the shift in Dom these past few weeks. She’d been distant, more irritable than usual, and more secretive too. But it had only gotten worse since Kiera’s first kill, since she became one of ours.

I shifted my weight slightly, tilting my head. “Still no idea what she has against Kiera?”

“Nope. Getting anything out of her is like banging my head against gravel. But…” Leo sighed, shaking her head.

“But what?”

“I can’t stop thinking about whatever she saw on that dirtbag’s phone the other night. She was bad before that, but she’s been worse since. Not just cranky, either. She seems… distracted, no?”

I nodded, frowning. “You’re not wrong. But what the fuck could he have had? Pictures…?”

Leo’s expression darkened briefly, but her tone stayed level. “He’s definitely the type. But I’d be surprised if that was enough to rattle her. And I definitely think she would have mentioned it.”

“I don’t know dude. Dom’s a fucking mystery.” As I sighed, Kiera sighed too. Her face scrunched up as she clung tighter to my neck. “There’s no point freezing our asses off out here trying to figure it out. Let’s get her to bed.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Leo glanced down at her before jogging ahead to grab the door.

I carried her through the foyer and halfway up the stairs, following Leo toward Kiera’s room. As we reached the top of the landing, Leo glanced back. “You sure you don’t want me to take a turn carrying her?”

“What, so you can take all the glory?” I smirked, “No chance, Love Doctor. Go grab the door.”

Grumbling, Leo swung the door open and pulled back the sheets on Kiera’s bed, preparing a spot for her.

As I lowered her to the mattress, Kiera finally stirred, her heavy-lidded eyes shifting from me to Leo as an exhausted smirk pulled at her cheeks. “Gonna take advantage now that I’m all weak and vulnerable?”

“Oh yeah,” Leo scoffed. “Gonna take you for all the cuddles you’re worth.”

Stripping down to her underwear and tshirt, Leo slid into the bed beside Kiera, spooning her from behind.

I took my time pulling off my own pants, giving Leo a moment with our little captive before hopping into the bed myself.

“I think we’ve taken plenty advantage for tonight, Bunny. How are you feeling?”

She blinked slowly before looking up at me through those thick lashes of hers. “Alright. Better now.”

As she reached for me, I scooched closer, letting her hand wander over my bare torso. Her gentle touch raised goosebumps over my skin, along with waking the deep throbbing that never quite left my clit.

Fuck, I already wanted her again. I was starting to doubt I’d ever get enough of our little firecracker. But this wasn’t about what I needed. Initiation was intense — fun, but intense — and all that mattered now was making sure that Kiera felt safe and treasured.

Opposite me, Leo brushed the curls away from Kiera’s neck before massaging the swell of her shoulder with her thumb. “You’ve gotta be sore, baby. Let me see those wrists?”

Her delicate skin, usually so slow to bruise, was already blooming deep purple at the worst pressure points. We wouldn’t be able to see the extent of the damage for a few days probably, but there was no mistaking that those bruises ran deep.

“Jesus, Bunny,” I winced, trying to calm the ache that gripped my heart. A flash of guilt heated the back of my neck as I worried that perhaps we’d gone too far.

But remembering how pretty she looked in our chains, how eagerly she took it, that pit of hunger was roaring through me all over again.

I’d always thought the way Leo took girls was too rough for me — she liked to push her partners to the brink of breaking, toeing that line right up to the millimeter. But just like every other thing in my life, it seemed like Kiera might be changing that, too.

“Any big clicks while you were strung up?” Leo asked, brow furrowed in full medical mode.

“No more than usual,” Kiera murmured, rolling her shoulder back with a pop that made my stomach clench. But the sound didn’t bother her a bit as she brought her wrist to rest in front of her, her eyes almost sparkling as she took in the damage. “Is it weird that I like the bruises?”

“Definitely weird.” I smirked, admiring her face until Leo punched me in the shoulder. “What? I didn’t say that was a bad thing.”

Unbothered by the two of us, Kiera closed her eyes, letting the most adorable little smile pull at her lips. “I’ve always thought they looked so cool. Kinda sucks they’re temporary, honestly.”

“We can always refresh them if you ask,” Leo grumbled, hardly able to hold back the lust from her voice as her arms tightened around Kiera.

Those are just a placeholder. Once Dom finishes up the real thing…

But I held back the thought for now. No point in ruining the surprise for her — not when it was just around the corner. If I knew one thing about Dom, it was that she wouldn’t rest until it was done.

Besides, Kiera was already halfway to dreamland by the time Leo made her offer. Her face smooshed against the pillow, a small puddle of drool already forming as Leo began to snore behind her. But while she drifted off, I couldn’t have been further from sleep.

Everything about her — the way the moonlight danced on her skin, the heap of curls splayed over her silk pillow, and the little wrinkle forming where her brows always furrowed — all of it utterly captivated me. I could have stayed up all night watching her sleep.

I’m… falling for her. Really falling.

That realization tingled down my spine like ice. And for the first time since we’d taken in our little captive, I was genuinely afraid of what the future held for us.

I’d had my heart played with by plenty of straight girls looking to experiment. But really, truly falling in love? I wasn’t sure I’d ever felt that before now. And Kiera of all people made a dangerous testing ground for those feelings.

I tried to push the thought away, tried to close my eyes and drift off to sleep. But even as warmth bloomed in my chest at her touch, one thought kept playing on a chilling loop.

Kiera may not be straight. But that doesn’t make her any less of a flight risk.
