Chapter 41 Kiera
KIERA
I could see from the look on her face that Leo didn’t want to spare me, that she wanted to press me on the question and demand an answer.
The truth was, I wasn’t entirely sure how my father had ended up dead. Suicide never made sense. He loved his life, loved us. Even if my mom was a greedy party girl. He loved every part of her with a devotion that couldn’t be extinguished by her rotten behavior.
Leo clicked her tongue. “I’ll let it slide. But I get an IOU.”
“Works for me,” I exhaled, keeping my shaky voice in check.
With a wink, Leo went back to work on the car, her triceps bulging as she leaned into the engine block.
Unable to relax fully, I looked around the shop, still shocked at how clean it was. Most of the others I’d seen were dingy or covered in grease stains.
I suppose you’ve gotta keep the place clean if it’s going to house cars like this.
I couldn’t tell if my dad would have been amazed by it or annoyed that it wasn’t grungy. My chest ached at the thought of him, like poking at a fresh bruise. I needed to find something to distract myself.
Leo wasn’t going to be any help. She was already buried in her work again, and if I asked her to distract me, I had no doubt we’d end up talking about the exact thing I was hoping to avoid.
Then my eyes landed on the empty office at the rear of the shop.
Behind glass walls, it was completely open to the shop and had a cushy chair and a desk.
It certainly didn’t look like it belonged in an autobody shop — more like a C-Suite executives office than a garage owner.
Maybe I could get on the computer and search for a job while I waited for Leo to finish.
“Leo?” I started.
Before I could continue, she lifted her head and raised a suspicious eyebrow at me. “Yes, Princess?”
Now I couldn’t stop the smile from taking over my lips. “What?”
“You always ask for more, don’t you?”
“Maybe.” I laughed. “Can’t I just wait in the office? I bet it’s quieter, and you can still see me the whole time.”
Shaking her head, Leo brushed off the request. “Nope, stuck with me.”
“Why? It’s not like I could get away from you if I tried.” Maybe the ego stroking would get us somewhere.
Instead, it just reminded my angel of how strong she was.
Wiping her hands on the towel tucked into her pocket, Leo grabbed my waist. Her massive fingers nearly met around my waist as she gripped and lifted me off the ground.
Every man I’d ever met had acted like hugging me was a feat. But not Leo. Never Leo.
A squeal came out of my throat as I left the concrete floor.
“If you’re so bored, then why don’t you help me?
” Placing my ass on the edge of the car’s frame, Leo turned my hips to face her.
Her jaw tensed as she pointed into the mess of wires and metal just behind me.
“So, I need to replace the water pump. The car’s been overheating which shouldn’t be happening on a model this nice. ”
“Why not take it back to the dealer?” I tried to stay focused on what she was saying, not the way I could smell her when I leaned forward, or how her wide figure kept my legs open as I twisted to look into the car.
Leo smirked up at me, her eyes flicking down to my lips. “Because baby, I know more than those assholes ever could. See that?”
As I craned to see the piece she was pointing at, my legs squeezed together for stability. Her strong obliques tensed under my pressure, giving me something to brace against.
I tried not to blush, but I couldn’t help the jolt of excitement that shot down to my clit. My legs were completely open to her, and we both knew that if she wanted to, she could take me right there against the Ferrari.
That's one way to distract myself.
When I wasn’t worried about what it all meant, I knew that my body wanted her. She was cocky, smart, funny, and fucking hot. A little bit of everything and a lot enticing. There was no denying that I was curious how her lips would feel on mine.
But I’d never felt that way about a girl before. And if I gave in, if it really happened, there was no telling if the feeling would last.
The side door popped open, shaking me from my fantasy.
“Sup, Callahan.” A biker nodded toward us as she whipped off her helmet and headed to her work locker.
“Hey, Cara.” Despite having company, Leo didn’t move from between my legs.
My heart was pounding in my chest, a little embarrassed to be in such a vulnerable position in front of a stranger. But Leo wasn’t moving, so why should I?
Then the door swung open again to reveal another biker — the name patch on her shirt read Nikki. This time, skipping over the niceties, she waltzed over to Leo and dapped her up. “You coming to The Hollow?”
Leo stuttered for words. “Uh, I’m not…”
“The Hollow?” I interjected, eyes flashing from Leo to the biker, whose sword and wings tattoo was displayed on her forearm.
Shaking her head, Leo tried to brush it off. “Not sure, might need to stay home. But we’ll see.”
“What’s happening there?” Ignoring Leo, I got to work on the unsuspecting biker.
Poor Nikki stammered, eyes flicking between me and Leo like she’d just spoiled Christmas.
“I’ve got this.” Leo nodded to her friend, dismissing her to the back of the shop. Turning back to me, she tried to suppress the smile that was begging to cross her lips. “Troublemaker.”
Shrugging, I licked my lips. “I’m just curious.”
“Curious about what?” Leo’s jaw flexed with restraint, but from the way her hands hovered behind me, it was obvious what she wanted.
She’s in the palm of my hand.
As intrigued as I was about Leo, she was equally as desperate for a taste of me.
Using that to my advantage, I wrapped my legs around her waist and pulled her against my center, letting the heat building between my legs press against her. Maybe I could lay on a little straight girl magic to get my way.
“I want to know what you get up to when I’m not around.” The words were a near whisper, a secret in themself.
Leo growled, “I guess you’ll never know about that, will you, baby?”
Looking into her golden brown eyes, I thought I might just get lost in them. Might never leave this shop. I opened my mouth to reply but—
A loud crash made me jump. I whipped my head to see who had slammed the door open and groaned when I got the answer.
Like a bloodhound for my happiness, Dom strode into the shop snarling. Her steps thundered across the concrete as she met my gaze, my presence inciting something violent in her.
“Get her out of here.” Dom roared across the shop, barely acknowledging Leo as she moved toward the office.
Leo laughed. “You said you didn’t care where I took her.”
“I said not to let me see her.” She stopped in her tracks, pointing a firm finger at me. Even from across the room, I felt the finger dig into my skin. “I want her gone.”
