Epilogue
THREE MONTHS LATER
We took our places on the darkened stage. The crowd was chanting our names. It ricocheted off the walls in the venue while their feet stomped. The lights came up and the sound of the crowd was deafening.
“Hello Vegas!” More screaming. “We’re so glad to be here tonight.
Before we get started, I’ve got a little something I want to say.
You’re the first hearing it. They screamed even louder.
You all know that I’ve had some health problems, but that scare is over after having surgery last month.
I’ve got some even better news for you, but you have to be very quiet when I tell you this one okay? ”
When they agreed the best that I could tell, I motioned for Storm to bring baby Rowdy to the stage along side me.
“You see, Storm gave me a handsome baby boy. He’s three months old and his name is Rowdy Alan Trent.
” A round of awes went around of the crowd of thousands of people.
I leaned in and kissed Storm before she took the baby back to the green room and away from the noise.
“Now just one more thing. I’m retiring after tonight’s show.
” The crowed booed. They did not like that news.
“I’m doing it for my health and so that I can be there for my son.
I’ll pop back in from time to time, but they have an awesome lead singer who will blow you away.
Please welcome to the stage, Marcie!” I hugged Marcie when she walked to the microphone. I could tell she was nervous.
“You got this!” I wrapped her in a hug and walked off the stage in search of my little family. It felt strange watching the concert from the monitor in the green room, but Marcie did a bang-up job and the crowd seemed to love her. “She’s going to be just fine,” I told Storm.
“Yes, she will. Now take me home while he’s asleep and fuck my brains out before he wakes up.”
I laughed. “You got it, Mrs. Trent.”
