35. Rolly

Rolly

It’s a wonder what sleep will do for the brain. And everything else. I’m standing in the massive backyard of this suburban house with a blindfold on, listening intently as Pix and Blaze try to get past me and steal the flag.

“Is that a pair of my underwear?”

Oh, well. Hmm.

I cock my head to the side and try and look confident. “It’s a flag now. I needed something they would fight themselves over to get.”

“Rolly!” Raven growls harshly. “I’m going to kick your ass.”

“I mean, you can try, but I’ve already put Pix and Blaze on theirs, and you look so fucking pretty on your knees, so there is added incentive.”

She scoffs.

“It’s true. He’s got a damn superpower. If you take away his sight, he becomes this freaking maniac,” Pix grumbles.

I grin proudly.

“Why? How?”

“Ah, well, the auspicious Doctor Severus Spine.” I pause for dramatic effect. “Did you like what I did just there? I did, in fact, sever his spine. Right above the shoulders. His head went one way…and his body went the other.”

There's silence and no laughter.

“His name was in fact Edwin Margol, and he didn’t like the way I looked at him. Since he wasn’t allowed to remove my eyes, he made sure I couldn’t see him when he tortured me. So, I made sure I didn’t need to see when I killed him.”

She exhales roughly. “You are lucky you are so damn hot. But I’m still going to beat you and get my underwear back.”

“Come at me, then, Beta.”

She growls and then goes silent. I listen intently for the brush of a limb, anything to give me an idea of where she is. I catch it just beside me, lash out, and send her flying. She crashes into Blaze, who is also trying to sneak past me.

I giggle.

“This is incredibly entertaining.” I hear Roseland murmur.

“I want a go at this,” Sage growls, and then he’s running, not trying for stealth but going for speed. I wait until exactly the right moment and lash out at him, slamming my fist into his stomach and winding him.

He crumbles, wheezing.

I stand up straight and bow slightly. “A good solid attempt, but you failed, sir.”

“I’m going to kill you,” Sage growls.

“Now, now. Be a good sport, you lost even Steven.”

“Don’t hit me, I’m going to take him back to the house and get his old man slippers out of retirement,” Roseland says in a voice that is far too happy.

“You’re dead to me, too, Brother. OW! Stop it! All right, I won’t call you brother.”

They disappear into the house. I can feel King and his bond inside. I know he’s watching, he’s got that ridiculous streak of pride glowing inside him. He loves it when I show off. He says people think I’m useless, and it’s always good to remind the world that I’m not now and then.

She almost gets past me, but I grab her wrist at the last minute, duck under her arm, block her knee, and then she’s tied up against my chest. I yank her T-shirt and bra off her.

“Hey!”

“My rewards,” I murmur and bite my lip.

I let her loose and nudge her away from my flag panties.

Pix goes in, but though he’s quiet, he’s impossible to miss because he has this habit of reaching out and touching the environment, like he needs it to remind him where he is. I crash into him and kiss him hard before twirling him away.

“Damn it,” Pix growls. “What am I doing wrong? What can you hear?”

“You can’t stop touching. Keep your hands to yourself, and you’ll be able to pass me with practice.”

He tries again, this time it’s much harder, but he doesn’t watch his shoulder, and he brushes up against a tree. I pounce him.

“Poor kitten, all cute and caught.”

“Get off me,” Pix growls.

I lunge up and dart across, grabbing her before she can put her hands on my flag.

“Bad girl.”

She hisses.

“Maybe we have two kittens. Grumpy, feral kittens.”

I yank her shorts off and slap her ass hard. She stabs her fingers into my ribs, but I catch her other hand, spinning her around and slamming her into the grass.

“You have failed!” I shout.

She lays there for a moment, and then I catch the scent of something delicious and sweet.

“That’s cheating,” I say.

“Let’s play a new game,” Raptor says with a deep, rolling purr. “If you can catch me, you can bond me.”

I reach for my blindfold.

“Uh, uh, uh. You have to leave that on.”

“Fine.”

I lunge for her, but she’s too quick. I follow her movements, chasing her around the backyard. When I corner her, she kicks me, hard enough to know that she’s going to give this all she’s got and make it worthwhile.

Her scent is in the air, and my amusement fades. I become quiet within myself.

I want that bond. I want it more than I want to survive.

When she lunges, I catch her waist, but she elbows me and slips free again.

I snarl and follow her across the yard. Tracking each panting breath, tracking that scent that is clouding all thought.

All I can think about is how much I want to press my face against her skin, inhale that scent, and then sink my teeth into her flesh and bond her.

She runs to get past me, but I grab her hair.

She screams. I just tow her in close to me, grabbing her arms and legs and throwing us to the ground where I roll her onto her stomach, and using my thighs, I press her legs apart.

I slide my fingers between us, between her legs. She’s saturated. Drenched. Clenching around me, ready.

My mind goes blank.

In seconds, I’ve buried myself in her.

My cock in her cunt. My teeth on her shoulder.

I stay there, refusing to move. She’s sobbing, but her pussy is milking me, and she is writhing under me.

She gets her arms under her and pushes up, but I wrap my arms around her more securely, and she collapses to the ground again.

I use her body to drag myself up, lodging my cock deeper.

There is nothing human left in me.

Just this scent and this bond.

I fuck her hard and fast, barely letting space get between us, grinding my hips into hers to get as much of me into her as I can. I let go of her shoulder, gasping, and pull her head back by her hair, holding my forearm to her mouth.

“Bite!” I growl in a voice so deep and malevolent that it causes a flicker of alarm through the bond from King.

She shudders and slowly opens her mouth.

I growl, a deep warning sound that rattles through both our bodies.

“Bond me, Omega, or suffer the consequences.”

“I’m not an omega.”

They switched back. I don’t care.

“Raven,” I say in a tone that dances with my insanity. “If you don’t bite me and bond me right now, I’m going to bite every inch of your body and leave you as scarred as Pix is tattooed.”

“I can’t bond!” she snarls.

“Do it!” I snap. “Bite me.”

“I’m a beta, Rolly.”

“Alpha. I’m your alpha. You call me Alpha and you bond me.” My snarl is thunder and craziness. I won’t let her go. Not now, not ever.

When she hesitates, I bite down again, giving her a second bonding mark. She cries out, clamping down on me and my forearm.

The bond snaps up. Weak, but it’s there. And then, it suddenly strengthens. Her scent changes.

“Raptor,” I whisper. But it changes again. “Merle.”

Blaze is kneeling in front of us, and he has her wrist in his hand.

I don’t know how he got so close, but I can feel him now, his breathing, the bond flaring between us.

His scent wrapped around me like a coat that is so comfortable I forgot I was wearing it.

The intensity that steals the danger from the world and gives me this feeling of safe acceptance.

I’m distracted by him for a moment, but under my mouth, I sense the change almost instantly. My omega shifts her weight, just a fraction.

Kestrel.

The bonds shine and strengthen, but there’s one more. One missing.

“Daega!” Blaze calls, sensing the reason for my unease and fury.

Pix brushes his fingers over my shoulder, then slides them through the grass.

Always touching. His movements are powerful and slow, like he’s savouring this moment or expectating someone to protest. Our omega kneels down, his lips press to her ear, whispering.

She gasps, and a low moan slips out, but he continues to speak, words that are just for her.

The heat of his body presses against mine, that jam scent tantalyzing.

I wait, the world waits. Then he bites her.

Her moan is a sob of pain and pleasure, of happiness so intense she’s crying.

Pix grunts, and I can just imagine her teeth in his skin.

The blood scent fills the air, but I’m distracted because without my sight, I can ‘see’ better.

And I can feel them all in her. For one brief, glorious moment, I feel all her alters, and I feel all of us.

She is the bridge that connects us all.

Our alphas stroke her, but I yank her legs further apart and fuck her until she comes on my cock, strangling my flesh. Until she falls apart and the pain and fear she’s feeling vanishes under the pleasure. Until she stops feeling like we’re going to hurt her and remembers how good we make her feel.

I growl.

I don’t purr.

I growl because then she will remember that I’m here to fight. That I will always be on her side. That I will make her feel good with savage desperation, with ruthless certainty. She is mine.

And I…I have been hers from the moment I first saw her, when I dropped to my knees and thanked a god I don’t believe in for giving me such a precious gift.

I meant it then.

I mean it more now.

When her orgasm subsides, I knot her. Forcing my thick flesh into her tiny hole, it feels impossible, but when I’m there, pleasure nerves sing. Waves of ecstasy rush through me, making my toes curl. My eyes roll, and I strain to get even further into her as I fill her up, making her inside and out.

I yank her head back and slam our mouths together, tasting the blood of our pack.

“I’m never letting you go,” I growl. “Not ever. The world can burn, but I won’t ever let you go.”

She sobs, her body shaking, twitching, and slowly relaxing into me.

My knot goes down, and I calm, reaching for the blindfold, letting the world back in. King, Sage, and Rose are on the porch.

Blaze is sitting not far from us, looking stunned. Pix is staring at me warily.

I look down at my omega and see all the blood, and I just panic. I pull out of her and reach out with shaking hands.

She rolls languidly to her side and starts to purr.

“You’ve been keeping secrets, Rolly.”

I stare at her, mapping the bite marks on her body, gauging her happiness.

“Are you good?”

“You are going to feed me, kiss me, help me shower, and then, Alpha, you are going to do that again.”

I get to my knees as she stands.

“Have I told you lately how perfect you are?” I say with complete honesty.

She sways towards me, her hips twitching, dangerous, deadly, ready for anything. Raptor.

“Of course, I’m perfect for you. Why would fate give me someone who can’t handle me?”

And that is a question that settles the fear and anxiety and returns to me my dark confidence.

Pix slings an arm over her shoulder and gives me a saucy look. “Hey, Alpha?”

I look up.

He waves my flag panties in his fingers.

“I won.”
