Ch28 Before the Storm Breaks #2

Rivanya’s face lit up instantly, her mood lifting completely.

Rivanya:

“Perfect! Then I’ll try to convince your Bhaisa to come along as well.”

But just then, as if something clicked in her mind, she paused and asked curiously,

Rivanya:

“By the way… why does your Bhaisa always wear black? Doesn’t he ever wear any other color?”

Raaj answered calmly, his tone carrying a hint of understanding.

Raaj:

“You already know how he is, Bhabhisa. He says there’s no color in his life except black… that’s why he sticks to dark colors.”

Rivanya fell silent for a moment, thinking about his words. Then slowly, a mischievous smile appeared on her lips.

Rivanya:

“Hmmm… well, now your Bhaisa will have to change.”

Vyom raised his eyebrows, intrigued.

Vyom:

“What do you mean?”

Rivanya’s eyes sparkled with playful determination.

Rivanya:

“I mean… I brought a pink shirt for him. And tonight, I’ll make him wear it.”

For a moment, Vyom, Dev, and Raaj went completely silent, as if they had just heard something unbelievable.

Noticing their sudden reaction, Rivanya frowned slightly.

Rivanya:

“What happened? Why did you all go quiet?”

Vyom slowly crossed his arms, a challenging smirk forming on his face.

Vyom:

“Bhabhisa, I challenge you Rudraksh will never wear a light color. And pink? That’s completely impossible.”

Instead of backing down, Rivanya’s smile only grew stronger.

Rivanya:

“Challenge accepted, Vyom bhaiya. Your friend will not only wear pink… but he’ll also come with us for ice cream.”

Then she tilted her head slightly, her tone turning playful yet confident.

Rivanya:

“But tell me… if I win this challenge, what will you give me?”

Vyom didn’t take long to respond.

Vyom:

“If you win, I’ll take you shopping and no matter how big the bill is, I’ll pay for everything.”

Rivanya’s eyes lit up with excitement, a victorious smile spreading across her face.

Rivanya:

“Then get ready to empty your pockets.”

With that, she turned around, her steps filled with confidence and mischief.

Without looking back, she walked towards the stairs and headed upstairs

Straight towards Rudraksh’s room, already planning her next move.

Rudraksh was sitting in his room, completely absorbed in his work, typing on his laptop just like he always did calm, focused, and distant from everything around him.

The room carried its usual silence until the door opened and Rivanya walked in.

Rudraksh glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, his gaze sharp yet unreadable, but he didn’t say anything.

Rivanya, on the other hand, didn’t utter a single word either. Without acknowledging him, she walked straight to her wardrobe, opened it, and after a moment of searching, took out a beautiful pink Anarkali suit. Holding it carefully, she headed towards the bathroom to change.

Rudraksh frowned slightly, confusion crossing his face.

He couldn’t understand where she was getting ready to go at this hour.

Meanwhile, Rivanya already knew one thing very clearly if she directly told Rudraksh about her plan, he would never agree. The only way to make this work was to create a situation where he himself would choose to come along.

After some time, the bathroom door opened.

Rivanya stepped out… fully ready.

And for a moment

Rudraksh just… stared.

His eyes froze on her.

After marriage, this was the first time he had seen Rivanya wearing a suit instead of a saree. The soft pink Anarkali enhanced her beauty in a completely different way. Her long, thick black hair flowed freely, falling well below her waist, adding an effortless grace to her appearance.

She looked… breathtaking.

And before he could stop himself, the question slipped out,

Rudraksh:

“Rivanya… where are you going at this hour?”

Rivanya calmly sat in front of the mirror, adjusting her earrings as if his question held no importance.

Rivanya:

“I felt like having ice cream… so I’m going out with Dev bhaiya, Raaj bhaiya, and Vyom bhaiya.”

The moment those words reached him, something stirred inside Rudraksh.

A strange irritation… a hint of jealousy.

She was his wife.

And yet, instead of telling him first, she had already made plans with others.

He spoke again, his tone slightly firmer,

Rudraksh:

“But it’s so late...”

Before he could complete his sentence, Rivanya interrupted casually,

Rivanya:

“That’s exactly why I’m taking all three of them along. It’s been so long since I went out… and the weather is nice tonight. It’ll be fun.”

Rudraksh fell silent for a moment, thinking.

Then suddenly, he stood up.

Rudraksh:

“Fine. I’ll come too. I can’t leave you alone like this you’re no less than a five-year-old child.”

Rivanya did have a reply ready for that, something sharp and witty. But this time, she chose peace over argument. Controlling her smile, she simply said,

Rivanya:

“Alright then… get ready quickly, or I’ll leave without you.”

Rudraksh stepped forward, his voice slightly possessive,

Rudraksh:

“Where will you go leaving me behind? Stay right here you’re not going anywhere without me.”

Rivanya didn’t respond. She just watched him as he turned to get ready.

But before he could take another step, she walked up to him quietly, reached out, and gently held his hand from behind.

Her touch made him pause.

Softly, she spoke,

Rivanya:

“Suniye na…”

Rudraksh turned slightly, a hint of surprise crossing his face at her tone.

Rudraksh:

“Sunayiye na…”

Rivanya stepped closer closer than before. Then, slowly, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice turning soft, sweet, and filled with warmth.

Rivanya:

“You’re so good, hubby ji… you fulfill all my wishes. Today, I have one more wish… will you fulfill this one too?”

For a moment, Rudraksh wasn’t in control of himself anymore.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

Rudraksh:

“Tell me… what do you want? I’ll fulfill your wish.”

Rivanya made an adorably innocent face, her big, expressive eyes looking straight into his.

Rivanya:

“I brought a pink shirt for you… I’ve always wanted to see my husband wearing pink. So… will you wear it? Please?”

Those big, doe-like eyes…

Rudraksh got lost in them.

Completely.

After all, when even gods lose themselves in a woman’s charm… what chance did an ordinary man like him have?

Without realizing it, he gave in.

Rudraksh:

“Alright… I’ll fulfill your wish, Mrs. Vardhan.”

Rivanya’s face lit up instantly.

Rivanya:

“Thank you, Mr. Vardhan! Your shirt is in your wardrobe, okay?”

And before he could even react

Gathering all her courage, Rivanya leaned forward and placed a quick, soft kiss on his cheek.

Then, like a mischievous breeze

She ran out of the room.

Rivanya’s sudden act left Rudraksh completely shaken.

She had already run out of the room, her soft laughter fading into the distance, but behind her she unknowingly left something far more intense his reaction.

For a few moments, he just stood there, frozen, as if time itself had paused.

Slowly, his fingers rose to touch his cheek, right where she had kissed him, as if he needed to confirm whether it had truly happened or if it was just his imagination.

This was the first time any girl had ever come this close to him, the first time someone had crossed that carefully built distance and touched him so effortlessly, so fearlessly.

His heartbeat, usually calm and controlled, had turned uneven, almost restless, and a strange warmth spread across his face, turning it visibly red.

And then, all at once, reality hit him. His expression changed, and he ran a frustrated hand through his hair, trying to gather his thoughts.

Wait… what the hell just happened? The question echoed loudly in his mind.

What was that? And more importantly… why did I let it happen?

He took a step back, almost as if creating distance from that very moment.

Did I just say yes? To wearing a pink shirt?

Seriously? Since when do I agree to things like that and that too because of her?

His breath grew slightly uneven as he tried to make sense of himself.

God… what is happening to me? This is not me.

I don’t lose control. I don’t get affected. I don’t… react like this.

Yet, despite his resistance, his fingers unconsciously brushed against his cheek again, and the memory replayed itself without permission her soft voice, the way she had stepped closer, her arms around his neck, and that innocent yet dangerously charming smile.

He shut his eyes tightly, trying to block it out, but it only made everything clearer.

No… this is wrong. This is exactly what I’ve always avoided.

His jaw tightened as a sense of unease settled within him.

She’s getting too close… and worse, I’m letting her.

That realization disturbed him more than anything else.

For the first time in a long time, Rudraksh felt something slipping out of his control and he didn’t like it.

A strange mix of confusion, irritation, and something deeper he refused to name stirred inside him.

I need to stay away from her… yes, that’s the only way, he told himself firmly.

But even as he tried to convince his mind, his heart betrayed him once again, beating just a little faster at the thought of her.

And that… that was what truly unsettled him.

After some time, Rudraksh finally stepped out of his room and yes, he was wearing the pink shirt.

The moment he walked out, even he felt something different.

He didn’t look like his usual serious, cold self.

The soft pink shade seemed to brighten his entire personality, making him look warmer…

more approachable… almost effortlessly charming.

For a second, even Rudraksh himself was surprised.

So light colors actually suit me? he thought, glancing at his reflection as he stood in front of the mirror, fixing his hair.

Just then, the door opened and Rivanya walked in, speaking mid-sentence,

Rivanya:

“Rudra, are you ready yet or not? You take even more time than me”

Her words stopped halfway.

She froze.

Because the moment her eyes fell on him… she forgot what she was saying.
