Ch32 The Fearless Mrs. Vardhan #2

"See? That's exactly why I was offering to help. But you're impossible. When do you ever listen to me the first time? You always have to do things your own way."

Rudraksh rolled his eyes and replied,

"Mrs. Vardhan, stop giving me unnecessary lectures."

Rivanya looked at him and said, "Then why do you keep doing things that force me to lecture you, Mr. Vardhan?"

Rudraksh could only swallow his irritation and stay silent. Meanwhile, Rivanya sat beside him, picked up the bowl of soup, and gently blew on it before bringing the spoon to his lips. The moment the first sip slid down his throat, some of the discomfort eased from his body.

"This soup..." Rudraksh said thoughtfully. "Did you make it?"

Rivanya immediately shook her head.

"Not at all. Dadimaa isn't even letting me enter the kitchen. In fact, she isn't letting me do any work at all. She made this soup herself."

Rudraksh frowned slightly.

"And why is she doing that?"

"Because she doesn't want me doing any work right now," Rivanya replied helplessly. "I've been given strict orders to rest as well."

A faint smile appeared on Rudraksh's face.

"Well, that's actually a good thing."

As he spoke, he noticed something unusual. Rivanya seemed distracted. It was obvious she wanted to say something, yet she kept holding herself back. Her fingers tightened slightly around the bowl while her eyes lowered to the floor.

"Rivanya," Rudraksh called softly, "is there something you want to tell me?"

"Hm... yes, actually..." she murmured.

"Then say it," he encouraged. "Whatever it is, speak freely."

Rivanya took a deep breath, gathering her courage.

"Rudraksh, there's something I've wanted to tell you."

"Go ahead."

For a moment, she remained silent before finally speaking.

"You remember when I told you that my father didn't allow me to continue my studies for two years?"

Rudraksh nodded immediately.

"Yes. You mentioned it once. I remember."

A small nervous smile appeared on Rivanya's lips.

"Well... there's something nobody knows. Mamaji secretly increased my security during that time. I used to attend college quietly without telling anyone. Because of that, after completing my twelfth grade, I managed to finish almost all of my LLB studies and clear the required examinations as well.

Nobody outside the family knew about it because Mamaji was afraid that if Papa found out, he might try to stop me again or harm my future."

For a few seconds, Rudraksh simply stared at her in surprise.

"Wait..." he said, his eyes widening. "Are you telling me you've already completed almost all of your studies?"

Rivanya nodded.

"Yes."

A proud smile spread across Rudraksh's face.

"Wow, Rivanya. That's incredible."

The admiration in his voice was impossible to miss.

"This is actually wonderful news. It means your time won't be wasted now."

A sparkle instantly appeared in Rivanya's eyes.

"Yes... and there's another piece of good news too."

Rudraksh raised an eyebrow curiously.

"Oh?"

"And what's that?" he asked, unable to hide his interest.

Rivanya smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling with happiness as she looked at Rudraksh.

"Rudraksh, I've crossed the final step to becoming a lawyer. I cleared the AIBE exam. The result came out today, and now I am officially a lawyer who can fight cases in court."

The excitement in her voice was impossible to miss. Seeing her so happy filled Rudraksh with a strange sense of pride. He knew better than anyone how many hardships she had endured to reach this point. Despite every obstacle placed in her path, she had refused to give up on her dreams.

"Congratulations, Rivanya," Rudraksh said with a genuine smile. "This is wonderful news."

Rivanya's smile widened instantly.

"You know, this was my mother's dream. She always wanted me to become a lawyer, and today that dream has finally come true."

A softness appeared in Rudraksh's eyes.

"Your mother must be incredibly proud of you today, Rivanya. I'm sure of it."

Then his expression turned thoughtful.

"But tell me one thing. Why did your father, Naresh Bedi, try so hard to stop your education?"

The happiness on Rivanya's face dimmed slightly. Taking a deep breath, she gathered her thoughts before answering.

"When Alisha saw that I was studying Law, she also joined the same college as me. Not because she wanted to become a lawyer, but because she wanted to make my life difficult. She was never interested in law. In fact, she could barely pass normal class tests."

A bitter smile appeared on her lips.

"But during the third year of college, a boy proposed to me. I rejected him immediately, right there on the spot. I don't know what exactly Alisha told Naresh Bedi after that, but she definitely filled his ears with something. Suddenly, he became determined to stop my education."

Rudraksh listened silently, his jaw tightening with every word.

"It wasn't like he could actually do much," Rivanya continued. "Mamaji would never allow something like that to happen. But I told Mamaji that if we openly opposed him, he would only create more problems for me. So instead, I suggested that we let him believe he had won."

A small victorious smile crossed her face.

"We spread the news that I had dropped out of college. The moment Alisha heard that, she left college too. And while everyone believed I had stopped studying, I quietly continued my education and completed everything."

For a moment, silence filled the room.

Rudraksh stared at her in disbelief and admiration.

"You really did all of that?"

Rivanya nodded.

A slow smile appeared on Rudraksh's face.

"You are unbelievable, Mrs. Vardhan."

Then his expression darkened as the conversation returned to her father.

"What a pathetic man Naresh Bedi is. I honestly don't understand how someone like him can be your father."

Pain flickered through Rivanya's eyes.

"Sometimes," she said quietly, "even I feel like he can't possibly be my father."

She looked down at her hands and forced a faint smile.

"But what difference does it make what I feel? At the end of the day, I am still his daughter."

Rivanya smiled brightly and said,

"But whatever it is, today I'm very happy. First, you regained consciousness, and now I'll finally get my Certificate of Practice. I'll officially be able to fight cases in court."

Excitement sparkled in her eyes as she continued,

"But before that, I need to find a good law firm where I can work as a junior under one of the best lawyers."

Rudraksh silently listened to Rivanya while she spoke, thinking about talking to her himself about everything that had happened yesterday. But after a moment of consideration, he decided not to ask her anything. All he wanted was to see her happy like this, smiling without fear.

Noticing him lost in thought, Rivanya frowned slightly and asked, "Rudra, where are you lost?"

Rudraksh blinked and replied, "Nowhere. I'm right here."

After feeding him the last spoon of soup, Rivanya said, "We've talked enough now. You should rest. You must be tired."

Rudraksh shook his head. "No, it's fine. I'm okay. Besides, I'm used to these injuries."

Rivanya immediately frowned. "You should never get used to something that hurts you."

Rudraksh fell silent at her words. Seeing him quiet, Rivanya changed the topic. "Now stop arguing with me, Rudra. You need rest, and I'm not listening to any excuses."

Saying that, she gently supported his back and helped him lie down properly on the bed. "I'll be right outside. If you need anything, just call me, okay?"

Rudraksh nodded. He had barely closed his eyes when a female voice suddenly made them snap open. Looking toward the door, he saw Alisha standing there with Naresh Bedi.

For a moment, even Rivanya looked surprised, wondering who had allowed them inside. However, seeing Rudraksh's condition, she stayed quiet because she didn't want any unnecessary drama.

Alisha immediately walked toward the bed, pretending to be worried. "Oh my God, Rudraksh! What happened to you? Are you okay?"

Being Rudraksh, he completely ignored Alisha's existence and instead looked at Rivanya, who was staring at Alisha as if she wanted to throw her out herself.

Before Naresh Bedi could speak, Rivanya asked coldly, "What are you doing here? And who allowed both of you inside?"

Alisha crossed her arms arrogantly. "Oh, Rivanya, why are you overreacting so much? After all, once you die because of the curse of Vardhanpur, I'll be the mistress of this house and Rudraksh's wife anyway."

Rivanya actually laughed at that. Shaking her head, she replied, "Alisha, have you developed a habit of living on my leftovers? You're always waiting for me to leave something behind so you can come begging for it. First my father, then my house, and now my husband. Wow. If shamelessness had a face,

it would be yours."

Rudraksh couldn't help but stare at her. For the first time, Rivanya wasn't staying quiet. She was standing up for herself, and he absolutely loved it.

Alisha's face darkened with anger. "Rivanya, watch your tongue."

"No, you watch yours," Rivanya shot back. "This isn't your father's house. This is my house. You're standing in my bedroom and threatening me? Let me remind you of your place."

She called the guards, and within seconds they entered the room.

"I don't want either of them anywhere near my house after today," Rivanya ordered. "If I see them again, all of you lose your jobs. Throw them out."

The guards immediately obeyed. Before Alisha and Naresh could react, they were dragged outside.

As soon as they left, Rudraksh smirked. "Someone is jealous, isn't she, Mrs. Vardhan?"

Rivanya lifted her chin proudly. "Of course I am. I'm Mrs. Rivanya Rudraksh Vardhan. If I don't show such girls their place, then who will, Mr. Vardhan?"

That made Rudraksh laugh. "Don't worry. The guards understood your orders perfectly."
