Ch 38 The Blueprint of a Broken Truth #4
But at this exact moment, his personal pride meant absolutely nothing Rivanya's dignity and health were his only priorities.
He turned back slightly, his expression deeply respectful yet unyielding.
"I know, Dadimaa. But Rivanya is unconscious right now. Even in this state, when she isn't awake to tell me, her boundaries and her consent matter more than anything else. I will not compromise her comfort without her explicit permission. Please take care of her."
With those words, Rudraksh stepped out of the room and quietly pulled the heavy door shut behind him, leaving Dadimaa deeply moved by his unexpected maturity and profound respect for his wife.
A short while later, Dadimaa finished changing Rivanya into fresh, warm clothes and tucked her safely back into bed. Sitting anxiously near her pillow, Dadimaa finally called Rudraksh back inside. The doctor had arrived by then, and Rudraksh rushed into the room to guide him straight to the bedside.
Rudraksh stood rooted to the spot, his muscles tense with anxiety as the doctor began his immediate examination. Seeing his friend completely consumed by fear, Vyom quietly stepped up and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, offering silent support.
Unable to contain his panic any longer, Rudraksh stepped forward and asked, "Doctor, is everything alright? My wife is going to be okay, right?"
The doctor noted his vitals, his expression serious but reassuring. "Listen, first of all, staying under the cold water for so long has allowed the chill to settle deep into her body.
It is very fortunate that you pulled her out when you did, otherwise this could have escalated into a critical condition.
Secondly, her physical state indicates she has suffered a massive emotional shock.
You must ensure she faces absolutely no stress right now.
I have administered an injection, and she should regain consciousness shortly.
Once she wakes up, feed her a light meal and give her these prescribed medications.
If anything worries you, call me directly and I will return."
A collective wave of relief washed through the room at the doctor's words, especially for Rudraksh. However, a nagging, unsettling question began to twist in his mind: What could possibly happen to give Rivanya an emotional shock of this magnitude?
The doctor handed over the prescriptions and prepared to leave, with Vyom stepping out to escort him downstairs.
Rudraksh immediately moved to sit on the edge of the mattress close to Rivanya. Noticing his condition, Dadimaa touched his arm gently.
"Rudraksh, go change your clothes first. You are still completely drenched in that wet suit. I will stay right here with Rivanya while you take care of yourself."
"But, Dadimaa..." Rudraksh protested, his eyes refusing to leave his wife's pale face.
Dadimaa cut him off firmly. "No arguments, Rudraksh. If you fall sick, who is going to take care of Rivanya? Go change right now before you catch a cold. I am right here beside her. Go."
Realizing the practical truth in her words, Rudraksh relented. He walked into the bathroom, quickly stripped out of his ruined corporate attire, and changed into comfortable, dry clothes.
When he stepped back into the bedroom, Dadimaa decided it was time to give the young couple some privacy.
She instructed the remaining staff and family members to clear the room, then stood up gracefully.
"I am going downstairs to prepare a warm, light meal for Rivanya so it's ready when she wakes up. You stay right here by her side, alright?"
Rudraksh nodded silently, watching Dadimaa quietly exit the room and close the door behind her.
Left entirely alone in the quiet room, Rudraksh stared down at Rivanya's unusually pale, exhausted face.
His mind raced as he tried to piece together the mystery of her sudden breakdown.
As he leaned over to tuck the heavy blanket securely around her shoulders, his gaze fell on the floor right beside the edge of the bed.
Two crumpled sheets of paper were lying scattered on the carpet.
Frowning, Rudraksh knelt down, picked up the pages, and smoothed them out against his palm. Recognizing the elegant handwriting of a woman named Katha, his dark eyes narrowed with sudden intensity as he began to read the forbidden truth that had just broken his wife's world.
