Chapter Six #2
As our bodies melded together, Arik rolled on top of me, his lips trailing down my chin and across my neck, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
His hand on my waist moved down to my thigh, as his fingertips gripped me firmly.
Instinctively, my thighs parted, and I felt him pull himself into the space I had made for him.
I gasped softly into his ear as my legs wrapped around him, pulling him even closer.
I could feel the heat of his body against mine as he moved, our rhythms synchronizing in a way that felt like second nature.
Arik’s kiss was fervent, his lips exploring my neck with an intensity that made my heart race as I lay under him, my fingers digging into the pillow behind my head as my pants turned into moans.
His mouth against my skin dripped with a mix of tenderness and need, and I could sense the struggle within him as he fought to keep his control.
As our bodies entwined, I felt his breath quicken, and I could see the internal battle waging within him.
His hips violently thrusted into me as his fingers knotted into my hair. I felt him—all of him—firmly against my center. My chest heaved as I let out a moan that echoed through the room.
In a sudden shift, he pulled back, his lips leaving my neck to gently return to my mouth.
He rolled me onto my side, moving his once restless hand from my thigh back to my waist. As the pull-back caused confusion to coil in my chest, he pressed his forehead gently against mine.
His eyes closed as he took a deep, composing breath.
“So, tour of the town?” Arik’s voice was light, almost playful, as he spoke with his eyes still closed.
I lay there, my mind racing to catch up with the sudden shift.
My breath was coming in quiet, uneven gasps, as I struggled to piece together why he had stopped so abruptly.
I had been so absorbed in the kiss and the intensity of our connection that his sudden pause was disorienting.
My head had become light with the feeling of all the air being sucked out of the room.
I was still breathless. Still tingling where his lips had been.
What the hell was that? Why did he stop? And why did I want more?
“Tour?” I asked, still trying to catch my breath and muster up an ounce of composure.
“Yes,” he said, his eyes opening to meet mine with a focused intensity. “You said, and I quote, that if by some miracle you are still here, you would join me. You would consider it a sign.” His eyes twinkled with satisfaction, realizing he had me cornered.
A deep sigh escaped my lips as I rolled onto my back, trying to think through the fog of confusion.
Arik shifted beside me, gently taking my hand in his, and pressing a soft kiss to my knuckles before brushing his cheek against my fingertips.
His touch was tender, and I felt the warmth of his fingers as he laced them with mine.
With his other hand, he brushed a stray lock of hair from my face and tucked it behind my ear.
He leaned in and kissed me again, softly. The sensation gave me another jolt of warmth that my body was already starting to miss.
Arik pulled back slightly. “The tour?” he said again, his voice almost coaxing. “I have a driver outside.”
I hesitated, my mind grappling with the sudden shift in plans. The seconds seemed to stretch into an eternity as I processed his words, while he waited with an almost anxious anticipation.
“Do you promise not to kill me?” I asked, trying to inject some humor into the situation despite the flutter of nerves I felt.
Arik’s laugh was warm and reassuring. “No, no. Not today,” he said with a coy smile and a wink.
I laughed, the tension melting away as I slowly lifted myself off the bed, adjusting my dress as I stood.
Can’t be looking like I had been rolling around in bed with a stranger.
What the hell is happening? How is this my life? I feel like I am in a Hallmark movie…but the HBO version.
Someone call Sydney Sweeney.
“Arik,” I asked, “can I have just a little bit of time to get myself together, please?”
His brow furrowed as his head tilted to the side. “Sure. That is understandable.”
With that, he arose from the bed and made his way to the foot of it to put his shoes back on. His eyes locked into mine as he adjusted his clothing, looking at me like, look what you did to me. Bad girl.
I looked down at my feet, concealing the blush that was spreading across my cheeks as a smile I couldn’t fight formed the corners of my mouth.
“When would you like me to come back for you?” he asked, his words dripping sinfully as if he was asking me when I wanted to be ravaged again.
I replied, “An hour would be good. I just need to freshen up, unpack a bit, and call home to let my family know I’m staying.”
“Perfect…” he said before offering me a cheeky wink. “Then it is a date.”
I blushed again, unable to conceal it this time. I bit my lower lip firmly to stop the smile from completely taking over my face in a way that made me look insane.
Arik’s expression filled with satisfaction. He melted me, and he knew it.
Smooth bastard.
As he made his way to the door, I rushed to his side.
He turned on his heel as his hand pulled the handle of the door, letting the golden sunlight and smell of roses waft into the room. As I approached, his arm wrapped around my waist, squeezing me tightly against him as his towering frame absorbed me.
“I would give you a goodbye kiss…” he whispered as I stared back in anticipation, my lips parting like I was ready for it. “But we both know where that would end up.”
And with a wink, his body separated from mine as he strolled out the door, leaving me aching for more.
