Chapter 15 Wiped Out Last Night

Xia Lin and her mother were dead.

Before they died they had been tortured beyond human limits. Only her father, away on a business trip, escaped.

A sudden shock ran through me.

Everything spun. It wasn't Xia Lin. Not her. Then who?

Why did her family get hit just because I filled in the wrong address?

The instant I walked out of the exam hall, something flashed through my mind. I grabbed a classmate.

"Right—yesterday's Class Yearbook. Who ended up keeping it?"

No. Please don't say that name. I prayed with everything I had.

The classmate thought for a moment.

"Zhou Su, I think. I saw Xia Lin hand it to him to keep."

Right. At that bank event, Zhou Su had gone with me too.

It had to be a misunderstanding. Impossible.

I laughed at myself. Zhou Su had always been kind.

After I was paralyzed, my jaw barely opened. The aides would impatiently stuff food into my mouth. Zhou Su would feed me bit by bit. Each time took an hour.

He was the one who encouraged me to live, who gave me the courage to keep going.

At lunch break, Zhou Su walked out with his phone, looking tense.

I followed as if pulled. It was raining beyond the corridor. He went to an empty stairwell.

He growled into the phone.

"Stop calling. That's all we can give you. We've done more than enough. Didn't you say you only needed money? Why... why did you have to kill people? Do you know this will drag me and my mom down?"

The Xia Lin case happened at nine-thirty.

Her house was in the south district. If they rushed from my wrong address to the south district, it was exactly half an hour.

The answer was laid bare.

The one who told the thugs the information was Zhou Su.
