24. Sam

. . .

I wake up feeling overly heated and surrounded by Jameson’s limbs and masculine scent.

I can feel his chest move against my back with every breath he takes and it's almost enough to make me want to stay here all day. Sensing I’m awake, Jameson’s arms tighten before he leans up on his elbow, staring down at me.

“Best view in the morning,” he says sleepily, and I grin like a loon.

Ever since discovering his racing secret and mine and Isla’s journey to Chicago two days ago, Jameson hasn’t let me out of his sight.

We’ve talked more about how he became involved with Romeo and what the catalyst of him deciding to race this way was.

My heart broke a little when he admitted it was to help his dad, but also because he and Johnny wanted the business venture of their own garage.

He wanted that location to be wherever I was planning to go to college in order to be by Dylan.

After assuring me over and over again that he was as safe as can be and that he doesn’t take unnecessary risks, I’m starting to move on.

The thing I hate the most about the situation is that he hadn’t told me about it yet.

I don’t want there to be any more secrets between us, which is what we promised each other when we decided to try again.

After that conversation, Jameson took me to bed and made it up to me many times throughout the night.

My hand runs through his messy bed hair. “We really should get up. Dylan will be awake soon.”

He nods and moves to start getting up from his bed.

My eyes trail over his naked backside as he walks to the ensuite bathroom and a familiar warmth settles low in my belly.

Feeling my gaze on him, he glances at me over his shoulder.

There's a growl that comes from deep in his chest and his eyes turn coffee black.

“Get over here, Pretty Girl.”

His voice sends shivers over my skin as I climb out of the bed and walk over to him.

Wordlessly, Jameson’s fingers clutch the bottom of the tank top I have on and he lifts it off and over my head, dropping it to the floor with last night's discarded clothes.

He keeps his eyes on mine while his fingertips trail over the exposed skin on my waist, hooking into my panty line and slowly dragging them down my legs before kneeling in front of me.

“When did you put clothes on last night?” His voice is gravelly, his fingers trace patterns over my legs, and he kisses the tops of my thighs, below my belly button, and over my mound.

I inhale sharply, feeling my legs already weakening for him. “I–uh, I had to use the bathroom and put them on then.”

“Hmm.” He hums before placing a wet, open mouth kiss over the top of my clit.

“Oh, God.” I moan, my hands clutching his shoulders.

He pulls back and our gazes clash. “I don’t like when you aren’t naked in my bed, Sammy.”

“S-s-sorry,” I stutter, my eyes becoming heavy and my body throbbing for him.

Jameson stands, pulling me directly into the bathroom with him, and starts the shower. Without saying a word, he leads me under the hot water, his hands roaming over my body leaving trails of goosebumps everywhere he touches. He kisses me until I’m breathless, and I brace against his chest.

“Need you again, Pretty Girl” He groans between kisses, his tongue tangling with mine. “Fuck, I’d live inside you if I could. Always so hot and ready for me. I love feeling your body take me deeper.”

“Please, Jameson.” I moan against his mouth.

He grasps my hips, pulling me forward, and lifts me until my legs wrap around his waist. Slowly, he lowers me down his length until I’m completely full.

My head falls against the tile, my arms clutching around his shoulders.

He moves so that he’s under the spray, kissing up my neck until he gets to the spot below my ear, causing me to shiver against him.

Moving in and out of me slowly, my body aches for more.

“I need you, Jameson.” I gasp, my inner muscles squeezing him and earning a grunt from his lips.

“Yeah, baby. Not as much as I need you. I need to hear you say it again, Sam.” He slams into me harder, and I cry out in the small space. He adjusts his angle, and with every thrust, he’s hitting me in the right place.

“I love you.” I groan, leaning back against the wall. Jameson kisses and licks each of my breasts, gently biting and sucking my nipples until they’re throbbing and my body is begging for release.

“More Sammy. Give it to me.” He swivels his hips against me, pushing deeper.

“I’m yours,” I cry out, trying to muffle the sound against his shoulder.

My stomach twists as my orgasm builds. Jameson must feel it because he starts gliding in and out faster, squeezing my waist and kissing me so passionately I can barely breathe.

My body coils, tightening around him, while I scream through my release.

He hooks my legs around his arms, flattening his body to mine, thrusting inside me deeper, harder than before.

My body quakes in his hold. He’s breathing hard, his lips, tongue and teeth marking every inch of my chest. My hands rake through his hair, pulling just enough to cause pain, and his mouth comes back to mine.

With a final groan, I feel him swell inside me, his body tensing as he fills me.

We stand together, catching our breath, and he slowly sets me to my feet again, turning us around. Jameson grins wickedly at me, then gently kisses my forehead. “We need to hurry, Pretty Girl.”

His hands move deftly through my hair with shampoo and conditioner. My body is languid, and I can barely stand. He washed us both with his body wash before turning off the cooling water. Grabbing a towel, he dries me off before wrapping it around his waist.

“What just happened?” I ask, my brain finally catching up.

He holds out his arms to me. “Come here, Sammy.”

I move into his hold. His fingers grip my chin and he places a loving kiss on my lips. “We started the morning with me making love to you and showing you how much I crave everything about you. It’s how you deserve to wake up every day.”

My body melts into him, and my arms wrap around his waist. A vibration on the counter behind us catches my attention. Jameson picks up his phone and his eyes widen.

“Fuck!” He swears harshly and unwinds from my hold. “I got to go, Sam. One of the new guys messed up a machine and Johnny says a customer's car is upside down in the garage. Fuck! This is not how I wanted our morning to go.” He quickly dries off and grabs his toothbrush.

“It's okay. You go take care of the emergency. I have plenty of time to get Dylan ready and drop her off,” I assure him, sprinting out of the bathroom to hurry and get dressed myself.

Jameson breezes in behind me, grabbing a pair of jeans from his closet and a fresh t-shirt before throwing his CB Auto thermal on over it.

His hands rake through his hair, making it messy but controlled.

I watch as he grabs his phone and pockets it.

I rush over and kiss him goodbye before he heads out the door.

When I hear the main door close, I glance around the room.

It looks like a bomb went off. Quickly, I make the bed and pick up our discarded towels and place them in the bathroom.

After brushing my hair and my teeth, I go to get Dylan up.

My girl wakes up in a good mood, her little cheeks flushed pink and her eyes shining.

After changing her into warm clothes, I set her in her booster seat for breakfast. My heart squeezes painfully when I realize that Jameson didn’t even have time to grab something to eat.

Taking a paper bag from the pantry, I throw in some fruit, a Granola bar, and one of the breakfast sandwiches he likes that he keeps in the freezer.

I also grab his water bottle and fill it, setting it next to the bag on the counter.

Who knows how long he’ll be busy for this morning, but Dylan and I can drop this on his desk for him to find when he gets done.

After Dylan is done eating, I clean her up, and we get our shoes on. Right before we head out the door, my phone rings in my pocket. The screen flashes KANE.

“Hey. Is everything okay?” I ask, feeling my heart sink.

He sighs on the other end of the line. “The car isn’t damaged, but there is paint scratched on the top. Johnny is calling the owner, but it’s going to be a long day with calls and sorting insurance.”

“I’m sorry, Kane. I’m glad no one was hurt though,” I tell him, cradling the phone while I help tie Dylan’s shoe.

“Me too. I called to see if you can grab my wallet for me. I forgot it on my way out.”

“Yes, I can,” I tell him, heading back to our room, a smile on my lips. “I was actually going to stop into the shop on our way out. You didn’t get breakfast and I threw some things together for you.”

He laughs and the sound is light and warm. “I appreciate that, Pretty Girl.”

I reach for the jeans he wore last night that are still on the floor. “Is it in your pocket from last night?”

“No!” He says loudly, almost harsh. “No, sorry. It's on my nightstand.”

My eyes travel to the side of the bed where the brown leather square sits. I drop his jeans to the floor. “Okay.” I clear my throat, noticing the tension coming down the line. “I got it. We’ll be right down.”

“Thanks, Sam,” he replies, his voice now sounding gruff and tight.

We hang up and I tuck the wallet into my pocket.

My gaze goes back to his jeans on the floor.

Jameson never leaves his clothes strewn about.

He’s actually a man who always makes sure his clothes get in the basket.

Last night neither of us cared where our clothes ended up and this morning we were in a hurry and didn’t get the chance to pick up.

Still, his brusque way of shouting ‘No!’ that his wallet wasn’t in his pants pocket sticks with me. My stomach clenches.
