Chapter 2
Russell Rush
Rose closed the door and leaned against it before responding with, “I’m good over here. Did you need something?”
I finally looked at her and became pissed all over again. The nerve of her ass to come here with another nigga, dressed like she just stepped out of the pages of Essence magazine and smelling like heaven.
My eyes perused the length of her body, starting with her toned legs and the long split down the middle of her dress. Her legs taunted me as my eyes stopped where I knew her pussy started, before working their way up to her small cleavage and finally making it to her face.
Her skin was like smooth milk chocolate with barely a blemish in sight. I had to bite my bottom lip when my eyes landed on hers, covered in a red gloss and looking like they were begging to be kissed.
I pushed my chair back and slowly stood. Her body shifted as she waited to see what I would do. My office was spacious, but not overly so. There was probably about ten feet between us, and I took my time getting to her.
The closer I got, the heavier her breathing became. By the time I stood in front of her, she was almost heaving. I left less than a foot between us, and she looked up at me with her innocent eyes, encased in thick, natural lashes, melting away all the anger I’d felt this evening.
“Why did you bring him here?” I asked in a low voice.
“The same reason you brought Gayle.”
I shook my head.
“Nah, I doubt it. Why are you playing in my face?”
“I’m not—”
She gasped when I gently but firmly grabbed her neck and put the back of my forearm against the door above her head.
“Do you like him?”
“Huh?”
“You heard me.”
“Russ, please. I—”
“You what?” he interrupted.
“It’s just a date. It’s nothing serious.”
“What about that nigga Jason, or that four-eyed nigga Steve, or the one with the fucked up fade, Kevin? Were you serious about them?”
Her brows narrowed as she tried to decipher how I knew the names of the last few niggas she called herself dating.
“How—how do you—did you do something to them? Is that why they—oh my God, Russell!”
She used both hands to grab my wrist and push me away, but I stopped her when she tried to leave. She released a huff, folded her arms across her chest, and mean-mugged me.
“Every nigga you call yourself dating will be put on notice. If they heed my warning and go away quietly, nothing happens. If they don’t, they’re putting their lives at risk. I always leave it up to them.”
“I can’t believe you. That’s why I left The Compound. I don’t need you all in my business.”
“Rose, regardless of what you think, you’re mine. That shit will never change. You can prance your ass around this city, risking niggas’ lives, and thinking you’re single if you want to, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I don’t care about you being mad, because I’m fucking mad too.”
“It’s been a year since you broke it off with me. Why are you mad?”
“Because you think this is a game. My love is not something to play with, and I don’t give it away freely.
I love you, Rose, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Baby, I feel like I’m suffocating without you.
I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I’m fucking miserable.
I need you, Rose, and you brought that nigga in here to—”
“I didn’t bring him here to do anything, Russell. We aren’t together. I’m allowed to—”
I didn’t want to hear shit she said, so my hand returned to her neck, a little more aggressively this time, and I pressed my lips against hers. She didn’t resist me at all, welcoming my tongue into her mouth.
The last time I’d felt her lips was a year ago, and I couldn’t put into words how much I’d missed feeling them against mine. She reached up and ran her fingers through my loose hair, something she loved to do whenever I didn’t wear braids.
Our bodies collided, and I pressed my hardened dick against her stomach. I’d have my way with her in this office if she didn’t stop me, and it wouldn’t be the first time. I reached between us and slipped my finger between the split in her dress and swiped it over the crotch of her panties.
I growled into her mouth as my dick stiffened, dipping my fingers inside her panties and ripping them away from her body. As I suspected, she was wet and wearing a thong. She gasped, pulling her mouth from mine.
“Russ!”
I covered her mouth with mine again because I wouldn’t be able to handle a rejection from her. The passion behind our kiss was palpable, and my dick ached to be inside her. I’d disappointed numerous women in the past year, because my dick wouldn’t respond to anyone but Rose.
“Did you give my pussy away, Rose? Did you let another man taste your sweetness and feel the goodness between your thighs?”
“No,” she denied, moving her head from side to side.
I used one hand to unfasten my pants, then reached inside them to pull my dick out. I picked her up and hiked her dress up and over her hips, exposing her wet pussy. She wrapped her legs around my waist, and my dick found its way home.
As soon as I entered her walls, we simultaneously released a breath. It felt like I hadn’t breathed freely since the last time we were together, and I was willing to bet she felt the same way. Her arms tightened around my neck as I buried my face in hers.
I inhaled deeply, getting lost in her scent and the feel of her body against mine. I’d never loved another human being the way I loved Rose, and although she never expressed her feelings for me the way I did for her, my heart told me she felt the same way.
In the two years we were together, it never felt like she’d given me all of her. Something was holding her back, and I couldn’t figure out what it was. I thought my love and patience would encourage her to share whatever she was hiding, but nothing could crack her.
My strokes were slow, deep, and deliberate because I wanted our time together to last as long as possible. The sound of her soft moans and my low grunts filled the room, reminding me of the previous times we’d found ourselves in this exact position.
“Don’t you miss this, baby? Don’t you miss us?” I asked.
“Yes,” she cried.
“Let’s try again, baby.”
“Russ.”
“Say yes, baby. I need you.”
Her pussy pulsed around my dick, causing it to throb and pulling my nut to the head. I needed her response before we released.
“Tell me we can try again, Rose. I love you too much to live without you.”
I stroked her faster and harder, and our bodies banging against the door became louder.
“I’m about to—”
“Tell me!”
“Russ!”
“Tell me, Rose!”
“We can try,” she finally said.
As I exploded inside her, her pussy sprayed like a waterfall, drowning my dick in her juices. Her head fell against my chest, and I rested my head on the top of hers. The sound of our heavy breathing filled the room, and neither of us spoke for a few minutes.
“I’m serious about this, Rose.”
“I know, but—”
“If you’re about to give me the same excuses—”
“I’m not, but we need to have a serious conversation first.”
“I’ll be over tonight.”
She shook her head. “No. Come tomorrow.”
“Why can’t—”
“Russell, please. I need time to figure a few things out. Come tomorrow.”
“This better not have anything to do with that nigga because I’ll tell his ass when—”
“It’s not about him. It’s personal. Come tomorrow at noon.”
“Okay.”
I kissed her forehead, and with her legs still wrapped around my waist, I carried her to my desk before easing out of her and rushing to my drawer to retrieve the wet wipes I kept there for this reason. I pulled several from the package and handed them to her.
After we quietly cleaned ourselves up, Rose realized she didn’t have any panties.
“Am I supposed to walk around here for the rest of the night pantiless with your cum dripping down my legs?”
I chuckled. “I can take you home right now if you want.”
“That’s not helpful.”
I shrugged. “If you want, I could eat your pussy clean, but that wouldn’t do anything but make it wetter.”
“Sounds delightful, but I’ll pass. Can you wait a few minutes before you come back to the gym? I don’t want to have to explain anything.”
“I better not catch you explaining shit to that nigga. Fuck him.”
“Russ, can we just get through the gala without you doing something to ruin it?”
“I’ll be cool.”
I pulled her into my arms and kissed her lips. I couldn’t express how much I’d missed something as simple as this over the past year. Having her in my arms again fed my soul in ways no one would understand.
I released her and watched as she left my office and disappeared around the corner. A few minutes ticked by, and I left my office and returned to the gym. My eyes found Rose immediately near our table, talking to her date.
I watched their mannerisms to ensure everything was cool, and they seemed to be, so I searched for Gayle. It took me a moment to find her on the dance floor, dancing with some random nigga I didn’t know. I didn’t care, so I let her do her thing and returned to our table.
“I’m not feeling well, so Preston is taking me home,” I heard Rose say, and I couldn’t hide my smirk.
“Do you think it was the food?” Rue asked.
“I’m not sure, but it’s probably best that I leave.”
She said her goodbyes, hugging everyone except me. When she tried to walk past me, I grabbed her arm. She looked at me nervously with wide eyes.
“I don’t get a hug?” I asked.
Before she could react, I pulled her into my arms. Preston stood behind her, and while we embraced, I looked dead in his eyes as I rubbed her back, letting one of my hands fall casually to her ass.
She tried to push away when she felt my hand, but I held onto her tighter and dared her or her weak ass date to do or say something. I released her when I got good and damn ready, kissing her neck before she walked away.
“That was disrespectful as hell, nigga, but you got it,” Preston said as he walked away.
“I know, nigga, and ain’t shit you can do about it.”
I finally returned to my seat, and when everyone else sat down, all eyes were on me.
“You foul for that, Russell. You just made the ride home for Rose very uncomfortable,” Rue said.
“She’ll be fine,” I responded.
“Where the hell were y’all for the past twenty minutes?” Rocky asked.
“Yeah. You think we didn’t peep how y’all were gone at the same time and came back looking . . . satisfied?” Rowdy asked in a teasing tone.
I didn’t even try to hide the smile that crept onto my lips, because it would’ve been impossible.
“Mind your business, Bruh,” I told him.
“I know y’all didn’t leave your dates out here to do what I think you did,” Noelani accused.
“What did I just tell your husband? I’m out.”
“Don’t forget about Gayle,” Rue yelled to my back.
Shit! I almost did.
