Book One - Shilo
Finding Gabby...
“What’s the matter, Bullet?” Shilo asked as he sipped his coffee.
“That waitress, Gabby, has some interesting ink on her shoulder,” Bullet stated.
“So what? Women have tatts, you know.” Shilo shrugged.
“Not like this one,” Bullet insisted.
Shilo stared at the club’s enforcer. “What exactly did it look like?”
“An angry falcon in flames. So it sure as hell looked like our club’s badge to me,” Bullet explained.
Shilo whipped his head around to glare at the kitchen where he happened to catch sight of Gabby.
Staring back at him with a touch of fear in her pale blue eyes, she shook her head. Hurriedly grabbing her jacket and purse, she headed toward the back door.
Shilo stood from the table and caught up with her out back. He grabbed her arm.
“What do you guys want with me?” She snarled. “I need you to leave and forget you ever saw me. I’m gonna be able to forget you real quick. I’m leaving town in a few minutes and I don’t want any trouble with you.”
Shilo pushed up her sleeve. Gabby tried to stop him but he just tightened his grip on her arm. The tattoo she had most of her life was fading with time and he snarled at the sight of it. “Why are you wearing our patch?” he finally asked her.
Gabby just shook her head. “So not my idea. Forget you saw it and move on, just like I’m going to do.”
“Not fucking likely, sister.” Shilo growled. “Where did you get this and why?”
Gabby shrugged. “I can’t tell you why or when, because it happened when I was four years old. That was a long time ago. I learned the hard way to never ask the why or the when about things like this. I didn’t ask then and I just don’t fucking care to know why now. I’m gone.”
“Does the name Malichi Brooks mean anything to you?” Shilo finally asked as he used Train’s real name.
Gabby didn’t hesitate in her answer, “No...Does it mean something to you?”
Shilo nodded. “Yeah, it does.”
“Ok... Well, I’m happy for you, but I’m leaving and you can’t stop me.” She growled as she walked away from them.
“Do you really think she’s somehow related to King?” Bullet asked Shilo.
Shilo shrugged. “Those blue eyes and the ink? Maybe? If not, I’d still like to know who the hell she is, wearing our symbol. I mean what woman would have a falcon of fury on their damned shoulder?” He shrugged.
“What did you hear about Train going to prison anyway?” Bullet asked Shilo. “It happened long before I joined the Phantom Fury, so I never heard the whole story, only bits and pieces. King doesn’t like to talk about it anymore.”
Shilo nodded. “I knew Train way back when. He was a troublemaker that’s for sure.
He liked to drink and there was speculation he was into the drug scene as well, but King tried to ignore it until it came back to bite him in the ass.
Train would just disappear from time to time and we all thought he had a woman somewhere.
Then he disappeared again and the next thing we know, the cops are calling and King gets word that Train is going on trial for murder.
We went to Leander and sat through his trial.
I’ll tell you one thing, King found out exactly what kind of man his son was by the time they sentenced him to twenty five years behind bars. It shocked him to the bone.”
Bits of Book Two- Bullet
When Andy Meets Bullet
Gabby stopped and glared at the other woman. “What the hell do you want, Sarah?”
“What do I always want, you twit?” Sarah almost screamed at her niece. “I want the money your mother left you. It never belonged to you and I want it back.”
Gabby closed her eyes and shook her head. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. My mom didn’t leave me a dime.”
“Liar.” Sarah growled.
“Mom, stop it,” her cousin Andy finally spoke up. “Just stop it, the money belongs to Gabby, not to you or grandpa or anyone else. Leave the poor girl alone.”
Sarah turned to her daughter and slapped her.
King, Commando and Bullet all growled as they moved to separate the two newcomers.
Bullet grabbed Andy and pulled her away from the table. Andy held the spot on her face with her hand where her mother struck her as she shook her head.
King leaned in close to Sarah’s face and growled. “That’s enough, bitch. You are way out of line.”
“Step off, bikerman!” Sarah snapped. “Andy is my daughter and nothing to you and yours. The money Gina left behind should have come to her family when she died but instead it all went to Gabby. The attorney wouldn’t hand it over to us and now we need it.
We’ve been counting on that money for eighteen years and it's long past time to turn it over to us.”
“What money are you talking about?” Gabby wanted to know.
Sarah looked over at Gabby and said, “When your mother had you, she took out an insurance policy. You know, in case anything happened to her. And with who you had for a father, I guess she knew what she was doing. She also left a will with an attorney. After her funeral, we met with the attorney and told him we were there to get anything Gina left behind.”
Andy dropped her hand from her face and explained, “The attorney asked them if they were willing to take you in and raise you but Grandpa told him hell no. They were going to toss you aside and let the state take you. That’s when the attorney told them Gina left nothing behind.
He told them the insurance money she left would go into a trust fund that you would be able to get when you turned twenty-one. ”
Sarah scoffed as she cut in, “That set Pa off and rightly so. You were just a kid and didn’t need the money like we did.
Pa tried to argue with him but the attorney was just being an ass and said no.
He said he had his instructions from your mother and that was what the policy was for, only you. But that money belongs to us.”
Gabby just shook her head.
Andy glared at her mother and said, “Mom, you know that ain’t right. That money is Gabby’s and always has been. If grandpa or you wanted it, you should have taken Gabby in and raised her. But you didn’t. That’s on you.”
“Shut your mouth you silly child, before I slap the shit out of you again,” Sarah threatened. “I don’t want to hear anything you have to stay. You are turning your back on family and I won’t have it,” she screamed as she hoisted her ample body out of her chair and tried to move closer to Andy.
Bullet pulled Andy behind him and growled at Sarah.
Sarah tried to push him away but Bullet wasn’t going anywhere, he stood like a brick wall...unmovable. He pushed her back instead.
Sarah stumbled but didn’t fall. She looked up and growled, “Get the hell out of my way, you filthy biker! She’s my kid and I’ll teach her right from wrong. You don’t go against your family, like she has.”
Bullet voiced a question, “Andy, are you over the age of 18?”
“Yeah, I’m the same age as Gabby... 23,” Andy replied.
“And do you want to be hit by your old lady?” Bullet asked her.
“Hell no, I don’t,” Andy replied.
“Do you want to go home with her?” Bullet asked.
“No, I don’t. In fact, I want nothing more to do with her or my grandpa. They both suck hind tits.”
Bullet glanced over at King.
King gave him a nod.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Bullet glared at Sarah and said, “You heard her, witch. Get out, you aren’t welcome here.”
“I ain’t going anywhere without my daughter.” Sarah glared back at him.
Andy peeked around Bullet’s huge body and told her, “Too bad, mom. It's high time I knew my cousin and I don’t have any reason to not know her anymore. You and Grandpa pushed her away eighteen years ago, now I’m pushing you out the door.”
Bits of of Book Three-
When Riley Meets Commando
The back door opened and two people slipped in. Moving stealthily, they got to the end of the hall.
The second person sneaking in raised their hand showing the gleam of a blade.
The first person moved into the room, and said, “I don’t want to do this! I am dropping my weapon.” The woman held out the weapon in her hands and dropped it to the floor.
The other person screamed out, “Traitor!” He threw the blade he was holding in his hand.
It hit the woman who stumbled farther into the room.
Commando turned and caught the woman in his arms. “What the hell?” He growled as the lights came on and the hall burst into commotion.
Bullet swung through the doorway of the staircase to the roof and his foot collided with the second shadow. A sickening thud sounded as the second shadow, a guy hit the wall.
The man went down into a heap on the floor and he lost consciousness.
Commando looked down at the woman in his arms.
Looking up at him, she whispered, “Are you real? Damn... heaven sure has some beautiful angels. You sure are pretty.” Then her eyes closed and her head fell back over his arm.
Commando looked up and around the room. “Will someone please tell me what the fuck is going on here and who the hell is this woman?” He bellowed.
The Fury men all scrambled around to shoot at some men through the windows.
Bullet dragged the unconscious man toward the main room.
Stitches had Commando carry the woman over to one of the tables. “Careful she has a blade in her back,” he told Commando.
Cautious, Commando laid her on her belly. Then he noticed the blade in her back.
“What the hell?” King muttered as he came over.
Andy moved to the table and shook her head.
“She’s my cousin, Riley Asher.” Then she turned toward the unconscious man and whispered, “And he’s her brother, Donnie.
Their dad is my Uncle Ronnie, he came in the back door earlier today to shoot King in the back.
” Looked stunned, Andy stumbled to the chair in front of the table and sat down to hold her hand.
“Riley wouldn’t come here to shoot anyone.
I know her. She hated being part of this family too. ”
