Chapter 8
EIGHT
Armond Davis
THE SECOND brANDY PULLED away from me, a breeze swept over us and I closed my eyes.
I had to pull it together because the taste of Brandy along with the mix of her perfume and the salty air was about to drive me insane.
I wasn’t a kisser but seeing her lip poked out like that gravitated me toward it and I couldn’t help myself.
I understood her pulling away, my sudden taking of her personal space was premature, but shit, she fell right into it and slid that tongue in like she was ready to pounce.
If it weren’t for the waiter heading our way, I would’ve pulled her right back to me.
“Good evening, my name is Wayne. I’ll be your waiter tonight. Can I start you off with some drinks?” He placed a basket of fresh rolls in the center of the table, blocking my free access to Brandy and I didn’t like that, but I’d let him live.
Her eyes shot up at me and I motioned for her to go ahead with her order. She smirked then proceeded to order her drink. I pushed for her to go ahead with the rest of it and even told her to order for me. She tried to give a rebuttal, but I wasn’t having it. I wanted to see what she would do.
“He’ll have the grilled chicken, grilled asparagus, corn on the cob, and the rice and bean combination. Also, can you please bring us two glasses of water?”
“Sure thing. I’ll be back shortly with your beverages,” Wayne said before stepping off.
“How’d I do?” she asked.
“It’s exactly what I would’ve ordered. Thank you.”
“Really?”
“Indeed.”
“Well, that makes me feel really good then.”
I wanted to ask what else made her feel good but held my tongue. I didn’t want her to conclude I was only here for a night of passion with her when that wasn’t the case.
“If you get me right like this again then I’ll let you order every time we go out,” I stated.
She smirked then shook her head. “No, that’s unnecessary. I’m sure your mood will change and I won’t always get it right. Don’t need you upset with me for the wrong decisions.”
She grew a little flustered and it was hard to tell what exactly I said that made her react this way. Her eyes dropped to the rolls and she grabbed one and stuffed her mouth before I could respond. Maybe I didn’t need to at the moment. I’d just observe and see what happened next.
When she didn’t meet my eyes or say anything after a moment, I pulled my cellphone out and shot a text to my cousin Nicole.
I needed to know everything there was to know about Brandy and this ex.
I could tell he tried everything in his power to ruin her and I wasn’t about to let her cower when it came to me.
“Hey, Brandy,” I called out. She was staring at the water while chewing slowly. Her mind was gone and I needed her to be right here with me. She faced me and quickly apologized. I shook my head. “It is beautiful. It’s exactly why I brought you here and decided to eat outside.”
“Yeah, I got lost in the waves for a minute,” she said softly.
“We can take a stroll on the beach after we’ve eaten if you’d like. I’m sure the moon will be gleaming off the water by the time we get down there.”
“I’d really like that, Armond.”
It didn’t matter how many times she said my name. Hearing it come off those lips had me bricking up like I had no control over myself. Probably because I didn’t allow anyone to call me by my first name apart from my family. But it sounded like silk coming from her pouty lips.
“What, Armond?” She giggled then took another bite of her roll.
“It’s nothing, just making an observation,” I replied.
“You tend to do that.”
“Is that a problem?”
“No, but I would like to know what you’re thinking.”
“How good my name sounds coming from your lips, Brandy.”
She acted surprised but that slick smirk on her face let me know she was going to use that knowledge to her advantage in the future. Shit, I hoped it was the near future at this rate.
Our mild conversation during the day and what I’d learned about her in such a short time this evening had me wanting to keep her around after this little trip.
I had to find a way to make that happen.
I didn’t know where she resided in the U.S.
, but I’d go wherever she was to get more time with her.
After eating such a delightful meal and watching Brandy suck down her frozen drink like it was water, we made our way to the shore.
We walked barefoot along the sand, the waves crashing into us every so often.
Her arm was tucked around mine and her head leaned on my shoulder.
I’d never taken the time to entertain a woman in such a way, but it felt good being here with her.
“This really has been a wonderful evening with you, Armond. You’ve taken me by surprise,” she said.
I smirked as I looked ahead of us. Though I had my team with me, I always wanted to be aware, and in this darkness, I could never be too careful. I slowed our momentum then turned to face her.
“The majority right?” I quizzed.
“All of it.”
“Hmph. Is my lady a bad girl on the low?” I teased.
“Your lady?”
“Shit, you’re damn right. You think I’m going to let anyone else claim you?”
“We barely know each other, Armond.”
“What’s your point? We’re getting to know each other and I know what I want. That’s you, Brandy, so you might as well accept it.”
“You want me?”
“More than you realize.”
“In what way do you want me?” Was that a trick question? I’d take you right here. Now.
“Brandy…”
“I want you too,” she interrupted.
“Really?”
“Crazily enough.” Crazily? Shit, this was crazy as hell.
My lips crashed into hers and her slender arms wrapped around my neck almost instantly. Her body pressed into mine and she damn near buckled from the heat brewing between us.
That made me slide my hand from her lower back to her plump ass and I damn near lost control of myself when she wrapped her legs around me and got comfortable against my dick. She didn’t care that I was harder than a glacier and I wasn’t about to stop her attack on my lips.
I leaned down and got comfortable against the sand as she straddled me then consumed my lips again before I could take a controlled breath. She was eager and her pheromones screamed for me to take action, but shorty had control over me and damn if I didn’t like it.
“Armond,” she moaned against my lips. This was the first time I’d grown speechless. I wanted her to continue to have her way, whichever way that led.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I grunted. She paused as she felt the vibration against her thigh.
“It’s alright. Go ahead. I know you’re a busy man,” she said as she climbed off me.
She was right but that didn’t mean I wanted her off my lap. I grabbed my phone from my pocket then brought her right back to straddle me. She smiled as she tucked her head onto my shoulder. Her lips met my neck and I could hardly concentrate on answering the damn call.
“Ciao.”
“You’re needed in Mayaguez.”
“Fine. Give me an hour.”
“Yes, sir.”
Fuuucckkk.
“It’s alright, Armond,” she said softly in my ear.
Her lips pressed against my skin just under my earlobe and a wave of peace flowed through my body. Sadly, my anger boiled right back up because the second she parted from me, I’d miss her ass miserably, especially that touch, her soft kisses against me, her warmth. Damn, mama had me gone.
