Chapter 10
Chapter Ten
KIERRA
It’s been a couple of weeks since I was taken from my apartment after finding out I was pregnant.
Every day is a little better than the one before, but I will forever have scars from what Pinball did to me.
G has been my rock through every good and bad day I go through.
I have tried really hard to ignore the fact that Viper takes off for the clubhouse any chance he gets in order to get away from me.
I thought he wanted to fix things between us, but I guess he’s just keeping me around since I’m carrying his child.
Other than that, the relationship is nonexistent.
He can’t even stand to look at me anymore.
Especially if I’m naked. G keeps telling me it’s all in my head, but I know Draven and he used to be unable to keep his hands off me.
Now, since another man has touched me, I disgust him.
I’ve been trying to convince my heart that it was never going to last anyway but I know that’s a lie. We were happy before…
“Kierra! Where you at girl?” G shouts, coming in the front door.
“Up here,” I call out and hear her coming up the stairs.
“What are you doing? Why are you packing?” she asks, concern written on her face when she takes in the stacks of clothes on the bed that I’m putting into my suitcase.
“Just moving into the other room. I’m too scared to go back to my apartment. I’m going to start looking for something that’s behind a secure gate though. I can’t do this anymore,” I say, trying to hold back the tears.
“Do what?” a growl comes from the doorway.
“Uh… I’m just gonna go,” G mumbles already scooting around Draven.
“This.” I wave my hand between us.
“What the fuck are you talking about? You ain’t going anywhere, Kierra.” He comes farther into the room and gets into my space.
“Draven,” I whisper as tears gather on my lashes. “Please, let me go. Being here with you… it hurts too much,” I sob.
“You want to leave? You quitting on me?” he rasps, and it pisses me off that he’s acting like I’m the one breaking his heart here.
“You quit on me first,” I growl, getting madder by the second.
“What? I’m not the one wanting to leave, Kierra. That’s all you,” he growls back.
“Don’t act like you still want me here, asshole! You can’t even stand to look at me. Damaged goods, right? Well, fu—” Before I can utter another word, he has me pinned on the bed and is grinding his hard length against my center.
“Does that feel like I don’t want you? Does it?
” he barks. “You were healing, Kierra! I stayed away and didn’t want to look at you because even bruised black and blue, the sight of you makes me hard, baby.
Damaged goods, you say? Fuck, baby. Look around, everyone here is fucking damaged, but it doesn’t matter because your mine and you ain’t going any fucking where.
What’d I tell you before, Kierra? If you leave, I’ll drag your ass back,” Viper hisses through clenched teeth before slamming his mouth against mine causing a moan to slip past my lips.
“Please,” I beg, rocking my hips against his, needing him more than my next breath. I need our connection back.
“Okay, baby. I’ll take care of you. I know what you need. I’m sorry for neglecting you.” He licks down my neck as he raises my shirt up, revealing my bare breasts. My hands shoot up to cover the scars, but he catches them and pins them above my head.
“Don’t! Don’t hide from me, Kierra. This body is mine, and I love everything about it. Scars and all. Understand.” He’s looking at me with narrowed eyes.
“Ok,” I whisper, relaxing my arms above me as he continues kissing down my body, paying special attention to the mostly healed wounds.
“So beautiful,” he rumbles before pulling my nipple into his mouth and sucking deep, causing my back to arch.
Chuckling, he moves to the other breast and whispers, “So mine,” before giving it the same treatment.
He continues his journey down my body, worshiping every inch while telling me how much he loves me.
He pays special attention to my belly, whispering words to our unborn child before giving me what I need.
What I crave from him. We spend the rest of the day, tangled up in each other, reconnecting and getting back to who we are together.
Today is a big day for Draven and me. We are going to our first doctor’s appointment for the baby.
We’ve spent the last couple of days when we’ve come up for air discussing what we want, and we both agree that we really want our baby.
Draven is hoping for a boy this time around and of course I want a little girl, but I’ll be happy as long as it’s healthy.
“Kierra! Get your ass down here. We gotta fucking go,” Draven shouts up the stairs.
“I’m putting my shoes on! Hold your damn horses,” I yell back, grinning and just plain happy to have my man back.
I thought I was going to lose my mind when he was treating me like I was going to break.
and when I confessed that to him, he quit and is now back to his usual self.
Most people can’t see past the bark and bravado, but I do.
He’s an asshole for sure, but he takes good care of me, giving me whatever I need and want.
He would burn down the world for me, and that’s all I’ll ever need.
Moving off the last step, I find Draven waiting impatiently by the front door with my bag in his hand, ready to hurry me along. “In a hurry, babe?” I ask saucily.
“No. Just know how slow your ass is.” He hands me my bag and laces his fingers in mine as he leads me outside to my car.
“Going to let me drive today?” I already know the answer, but I love annoying him.
“Woman. Ain’t riding bitch and you know it.
” He pulls off his cut before he opens my door for me, helping me into my seat.
I watch as he shakes his head in exasperation as he walks around the front of the car.
Opening his door, he tosses his cut in my lap before sliding into the driver’s seat and grabbing my hand, settling it on his thigh.
Looking over at him, I watch as he looks in the side view mirror and backs out of the drive, then shifts into first and places his hand on my leg, repeating the action between each gear he shifts.
I don’t think he even realizes how he’s always reaching for me, needing to touch me.
It’s just second nature to him now. I notice and these things matter to me.
“Thank you,” I rasp, feeling emotional. Probably because of the insane amount of hormones flowing through my body.
“What for, Vixen?” he asks, never taking his eyes off the road.
“For you. For loving me. For always being what I need.”
“You ok, baby? Where’s this coming from?” He’s genuinely concerned.
“Perfect, babe. I just love you and want you to know I appreciate what we have,” I sniffle, looking out the window.
“Yeah, you are. Love you too, Kierra. Don’t ever forget it.” He brings my hand to his lips, kissing the back.
Hand in hand, we walk into the doctor’s office, and I can already tell Draven is going to draw attention every time we come in. My sexy man in a room full of hormonal pregnant women is like waving a T-bone in front of a hungry lion.
“Why are they staring at me? Ain’t they ever seen a biker before?” he whispers.
“Yeah. That’s it.” I laugh, shaking my head as I add my name to the sign-in sheet. He has no clue how attractive he is.
“Ms. Ramirez? I just need your insurance card and for you to fill these forms out.” The receptionist hands me a clipboard and a pen. Digging in my purse I pull out my cards and hand them over for her to photocopy. Just as we finish filling out our family history, my name is called.
“Just step up here, and we’ll get your weight and height, then you can go in that door and deposit a sample into the cup on the shelf.
Just place it inside the little metal door when you’re finished, and we’ll take it from there,” the nurse says kindly, and I instantly like her.
She isn’t paying Draven any mind either which is a plus as well.
“You gotta leave them money in the bathroom?” Draven asks, walking into the bathroom with me. I swear he has no boundaries.
“What?” I ask, confused by his question as I grab the little cup so I can pee in it.
“That lady said to leave a deposit in the window.” He’s looking at the little metal door attached to the wall in confusion. When I finally realize what he’s talking about I can’t control my laughter and I almost piss all over my hand in the process.
“No. I have to pee in this cup and put it in that door,” I correct him once I finally catch my breath.
“Oh. That makes sense.” He looks a little embarrassed at not knowing the protocol, which makes me wonder if he wasn’t able to go through all of this with Sadie’s mom. “Did you not go with Sadie’s mom to her doctor appointments?” I finally ask when I can’t stop my curiosity.
“No. She didn’t tell me about any appointments. She didn’t even call when she went into labor. It was a hang-around that saw her walking the halls of the maternity ward when he was there at the same time with his girlfriend that had gone into labor. He called and let me know.”
“Babe. That’s terrible.”
“It’s fine.” He waves it off, but it absolutely isn’t fine. Even if we hadn’t worked things out, I would never have kept him from being a part of all of this.
“Come on, you can help me put on the paper gown,” I tease, giving him a quick kiss after I’ve washed my hands.
“Lead the way.” He opens the bathroom door and chuckles when I duck under his arm toward our room. Once we’re inside I start stripping out of my clothes except for my bra and socks while Draven watches my every move with a grin on his face. “Shut up.” I roll my eyes as I put on the paper gown.
“What? I didn’t say anything. I was just enjoying the show,” he says, just as our doctor enters the room.
“Good morning, Mom and Dad, I’m Dr. Sloan,” our doctor states, introducing himself as he shakes Draven’s hand.
