Chapter Seven
THANK GOD
I feel Birdie’s body shaking as I pull into the diner’s lot.
She’s laughing at all the bikes lined up in front of the building.
I’d already explained how it’s dangerous to eat at the clubhouse when Sapph cooks and that G’s the only decent cook we’ve ever had.
G’s been feeding us like kings since she showed up a year ago.
The only problem is she doesn’t cook every night.
Gliding into the spot next to Doc, I plant my feet and kill the engine. I throw the kickstand down and slide off as Wrath cuts his engine. Grabbing Birdie by the waist, I set her on her feet and steal a kiss from her smiling lips.
“Get a room,” Wrath says over his shoulder, heading for the door. I flip him off behind Birdie’s back when she buries her face in my chest to hide her embarrassment.
“There are a lot of Saints here,” she says as we walk past Harley after Harley.
“Viper needs to put G in charge of the kitchen and just be done with it. She’s not the traditional club girl anyway.
It would make more sense to give her a job within the club instead of her working off the property.
” I’m not sure what’s keeping Viper from putting her in charge, but my guess would be that it has something to do with Knox.
As soon as we step inside the diner, Nash sees his mom and bolts from his chair. It’s obvious that he’s missed her. She’s never looked more beautiful than when her face lights up the moment she sees him coming. I don’t deserve something so beautiful, but I’m a selfish bastard, and I’m keeping her.
“Hi, baby!” she chirps as she scoops him up and hugs him to her chest. She stands there for a moment, eyes closed and completely lost in what can only be described as a mother’s love.
“Head to the back, baby,” I whisper in her ear. With a hand on her back, I nod to where everyone’s seated. As I walk behind her, I notice there are still a couple of my brothers who are watching her cautiously. I understand their desire to be loyal to Kierra, but the girls have already made up.
“Hey, guys,” Birdie says, waving at my brothers sitting at the other end of the table.
“How ya’ doing, Doc?” As I sit down next to Birdie, I notice how exhausted he looks. The man has been working in the ER for going on twenty years, and I think it’s starting to take a toll on him. He needs to slow down some and start enjoying his life before it passes him by.
“I’m tired, VP. The ER’s been busy the last week with the uptick in narcotics floating around the city.”
“Shit. I’ll have Dex look into it, and we’ll put a stop to it.
” Pulling out my phone, I send a message to Dex to get the ball rolling.
We’re in the marijuana business, but we don’t mess around with anything heavier than that.
We also don’t allow it in our territory.
I’m surprised someone has the balls to sell here since we’ve made it clear what will happen if they do.
“Thanks, Sparrow.”
“Not a problem, brother.”
As I’m scanning the dining room, I notice Wrath keeps looking over his shoulder.
The look on his face has me sitting up straighter and following his line of sight to a man seated at the counter.
I don’t like the way he’s looking at G with so much fucking interest. The hair on the back of my neck stands up when he looks at me with blank soulless eyes.
“You know that guy?” I ask Wrath as he sits down across from me.
“No, but I think he was taking pictures with his phone.”
“Taking pictures?” I stiffen and look back toward the counter, but he’s gone. Jumping to my feet, I look around the room, but he’s nowhere in sight. I jog through the dining room and out the front door to scan the parking lot, but there’s no trace of him.
“It was probably nothing, Sparrow,” Wrath says from the doorway.
“You’re probably right.” When I turn around and look at him, he looks just as unconvinced as I feel.
“Let’s go back inside and have some supper.
Then maybe we can stop by the clubhouse for a quick visit with Dex, yeah?
” I was already thinking the same thing.
Maybe Dex and George can pull up something on the traffic cams in the area, and we can figure out who the mystery man is.
It’s really bothering me that he was so focused on G.
She’s a little thing, and a big guy like that could really hurt someone as small as she is.
I slap Wrath on the back as I head back inside and try to ignore this foreboding feeling that trouble is coming.
Sitting down next to Birdie, I focus on her and Nash.
As we all listen to him entertain the table with stories about his friends at daycare, the man with the phone fades into the recesses of my mind.
Just as our food arrives, Nash spots Thorn and Mila coming through the door and starts hollering across the dining room.
“Nash!” Mila shrieks as she climbs over Birdie and me to sit next to him.
“What’s up, brother?” I ask Thorn as he shakes his head, smiling at his little girl.
“Not much. Just stopping in to feed this wild child,” he chuckles, nodding to Mila.
“Daddy! Daddy! Can Nash spend the night with us?”
“Uh, you need to ask his momma, Princess.”
“Can he?” Mila asks, pulling out the big guns as she pouts her little lip.
Sierra looks at me, unsure of what to do. “It’s up to you, darlin’.”
“Please, Momma. Please . . .” Nash begs.
“Okay, I guess,” she smiles, tickling his belly.
“Yeah!” he cheers, throwing his arms in the air. The kid is a character.
“He has clothes at our house, so he’s good to go as long as you’re okay with it,” Thorn reassures Birdie.
I know a night without Nash isn’t what Birdie expected, but my mind is working at warp speed as I think about all the things I’m going to do to make her scream my name.
Once we’re all finished eating, I carry Nash out to Thorn’s truck and get him buckled into the booster seat.
“Thanks, Thorn.” Judging by the smirk on his face, he knows exactly what my plans for the night are.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” he shouts as they’re pulling out. Sierra and I stand in the lot until Thorn’s truck disappears.
“Come on, babe.” Linking our fingers, I drag her to my bike. When Sierra slides in behind me, the whole world goes quiet. She was made to be here.
Sierra’s body starts to lean heavily into mine as she begins to relax. By the time I pull into the driveway, she’s damn near boneless.
“Like riding, baby?” I ask, shutting off my bike and helping her off.
“I like riding with you,” she says breathlessly. Looking into her hooded eyes, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her this turned on. Fuck she’s beautiful.
“What do you want, baby?” Her brown eyes search mine as I lift my leg over my seat and tower over her. I’m pretty sure I know what she wants, but I need her to say it. She’s been through too much, and taking the next step has to be her decision.
“I want you,” she whispers, placing her hands on my chest as she swipes her tongue across her bottom lip.
“Thank fuck,” I growl.
Bending my knees, I squat down and squeeze her ass as I roughly claim her mouth.
I’m so amped up that I’m not sure if I can be gentle right now.
I drag her up my body, groaning as her legs wrap tightly around my waist. Once her arms loop around my neck, I turn on my booted feet and carry her into the cabin.
It takes a few tries with an arm full of willing woman, but I finally get the door closed and locked behind us.Sierra giggles as she rolls her hips and rubs her denim-covered pussy against me. She knows exactly what she’s doing to me.
Ripping my mouth from hers, I growl, “Gonna make me come, baby. I want you too fucking bad and my dick’s on a hair trigger here.”
“Hurry,” she pants as I stumble into the bedroom. Reaching behind me, I flip on the lights and set her on her feet. I watch her face closely as I slowly slide her shirt over her head. Even with the scars that litter her body, she’s fucking gorgeous.
I slowly reach around her back to unfasten her bra, watching her eyes for any sign that she needs me to stop. I send thanks to the Gods above when all I see is desire staring back at me. With a feather-soft touch, I pull the straps down her shoulders and toss the garment somewhere behind me.
“You’re so beautiful, Sierra.” Swallowing thickly, I gently trace the curve of her breast with my fingers, memorizing every inch of her tan flesh. Beautiful.
Reaching for the button on her shorts, I flick it open and lower the zip to reveal the pink lace beneath.
Everything inside me wants to throw her on the bed and put us both out of our misery, but I need to take my time and handle her with care.
Right now, she needs to be loved, not fucked. That can come later.
“Please,” she breathes as I take off my shirt, tossing it on the floor with hers.
Lifting her wrist to my lips, I kiss the delicate flesh before placing her palm against my heart and holding it there.
I place my own between her breast, relishing her warmth.
Watching her face, I slowly slide my hand down her chest, over her belly, and into her panties.
Her nails dig into my chest as I rub her clit in teasing circles before dipping into her heat.
“Take what you need, baby,” I say, finding the spot that has her grinding her pussy.
Gently, I press my thumb against her clit and marvel at her beauty as she ignites, riding my fingers as her chest heaves for breath.
I keep watching her face, not wanting to miss a single detail as she uses my fingers to find her pleasure.
“This is mine now, Birdie. It belongs to me and only me,” I tell her as she picks up speed, taking what she needs.
“Yes!” she pants, “it’s yours . . . Please, Braxton. I need to come.”
Fisting her hair so I have her attention, I make sure she understands what this means. “If we do this, Sierra. If I fuck you, it changes everything. I’ll never let you go, so you need to be sure.”
