Chapter Thirteen #4
Delta wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her, kissed him and got lost in the feel of his mouth moving against hers.
She never wanted this closeness to end. He hadn’t just stood up and ignored her and left. He was staying in this, learning her body, keeping her riled up.
“I liked it when you yelled at Dodger,” he gritted out. “Not so submissive, are you, Delta-Girl?”
“Maybe not when I’m angry.”
“Mmm,” he rumbled, rolling her on top of him. He settled his head against the arm of the couch and maneuvered his hips right between her thighs. “Give me a few minutes and I can give it to you again,” he gritted out against the side of her neck.
She couldn’t stop smiling if she tried.
Behind her the door was wide open, creaking as the breeze drew it back and forth, and snow was blowing in, but who cared? Not her.
For as long as she lived, she would never forget the feeling of absolute power as he’d focused his energy from the Change into fucking her. Or the way he’d made her skin feel, the way he’d kissed her, the way he’d looked propped over her, fucking her, arms locked on that couch as his abs flexed.
Nathan was so much more than she’d realized.
She leaned down and drew his bottom lip between her teeth, bit him gently, and rolled her hips against him. She kissed him and then rolled her eyes closed at how good it felt for his fingers to dig in at her waist.
Already, he was getting hard again between her legs. God, she loved him riled up like this.
“What are you going to do?” she murmured, rolling her hips against him.
“About what?” he rumbled, gripping the back of her neck with one hand, and her hips with the other.
“Which Pack?”
A spark of fire lit his eyes as he pulled her down and kissed her. He bit her bottom lip this time and then eased her over to rest her cheek on his. “Whichever one you pick. Don’t you know, Delta-Girl? Nothing is up to me anymore. You run this show.”
Oh, the gravel in his voice as he murmured those words.
“Where are we going?” he rumbled.
She sat up and splayed her hands against his chest and slid him inside of her. “We are home.”
He gripped both of her hips and slid him up and down his cock, eyes trained on her.
“Good girl.” He drew his knees up behind her and gripped her hips harder, dragging her up and down him.
He threw his head back and she could see the intensity on his face, and the Adam’s apple in his muscular throat.
God it was so sexy to have a big, powerful man under her like this.
The tension was building in her body already, dragging her closer to release so fast. Too fast. “Nathan!” She cried out, arching her face back to look at the rafters above. She closed her eyes as she came again, fingers clawing into his chest.
“Fuuuck,” he gritted out, and then shoved her back, repositioned her on her hands and knees on the couch and slid into her from behind.
She didn’t even know what was happening to her body at this point. Her aftershocks were going, but he was driving into her at this perfect pace and depth that her body was building up again.
“Look at you,” he murmured, gripping her chin.
Delta opened her eyes, and there was her reflection in a mirror she had yet to hang on the wall.
Her arms were locked on the arm of the couch, tits bobbing, stomach clenched, legs spread as Nathan rammed into her.
And behind her was the monster. Dark hair, bronzed skin, scars, wolf eyes boring straight into her soul.
A devilish smile took his lips as he pushed into her harder.
Slowly, he slid his hand from her waist to her right hand and pulled it between her legs.
And oh, she could feel his hard cock sliding in and out of her.
She didn’t know why but it was such a turn on, feeling it like this.
She touched herself as he leaned tightly against her, watching her in the mirror.
Delta closed her eyes and nuzzled her cheek against his as together they build up another release.
When he slammed into her, Nathan let himself go too. Warmth jetted into her, matching her pulsing release as she cried out.
He dragged every pulse of pleasure from them, and then ran his hands down her back, lifting chills there. He massaged her shoulders, her back, all along her spine, and Delta went boneless.
She melted against the arm of the couch, her head hanging off, her arms draped over it while he coveted her body.
He massaged her ass, and the backs of her legs, and then moved to her back once more.
She didn’t know how long they stayed like that. All she knew was she couldn’t move by the end of it. By the time he pulled his cock out of her, she was a pile of uselessness.
She heard the water running in the kitchen, which had been turned on this week. She heard him messing around in there for a few minutes, but she didn’t want this feeling to end. Never in her life had she been this relaxed.
“I wish I had a camera,” he murmured, and she looked over at where he stood in the middle of the living room, arms crossed, washrag in his hand, staring at the shape of her body.
“Oh yeah? Would you make the picture your lock screen.”
“If you let me.”
She giggled and forced herself to roll over onto her side.
He approached slowly, then knelt down beside the couch, brushed a flyaway strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear.
He leaned down to kiss her lips, and pushed her knees apart gently, and pressed the damp washcloth between her legs.
It felt so good. He’d warmed it up for her. Sweet monster.
“Is that your decision,” he asked low.
Delta eased her eyes open and studied the seriousness in his. “You want to be with me?” she asked, needing it said. Needing to hear the truth or the lie in his voice.
“I choose you.”
“Again,” she murmured.
“We needed to break, Delta. It’s all I’ve thought about this week. We needed to break so we could have something to fix. We both needed to hit rock bottom so we could see each other there and build up.”
His words made perfect sense to her. Delta reached for him, and he dropped the rag on the floor and pulled her into a hug.
“Don’t throw me away again,” she whispered thickly.
“Never.” He cupped her cheeks and eased back, searching her eyes. “I’ll never throw you away again. I know what that feels like. I’ll never put us through it again. It’s you and me.”
“We can’t be Arranged again,” she murmured, a drop of moisture falling out of the corner of her eye.
“Then we’ll do it old school. Even if we can’t register as a mated pair, it will be real to us.
You want a ring? Show me pictures of what you like.
We can get married like the humans do. You want a claiming mark like the Old Ones did?
We can do that too. You are mine, Delta.
You were mine from the first time I saw you.
I just didn’t know what it meant. I wasn’t ready. Not really.”
“You’re ready now?”
He nodded. “Yes.”
She pursed her lips against the mushy smile as he wiped the moisture from the side of her eye. “I’m ready too.”
“Then say it.”
“Say what?”
“Say you forgive me. I need it. I can’t sleep without it. I can’t eat. I can’t think. Set me free.”
“You’re free,” she said, repeating the words she’d said to him before. Only this time, they meant something good. They meant something bigger. He was free of the guilt. “I forgive you. I won’t make you pay for it anymore.”
He pulled her hand to his lips and pressed a kiss there, then cupped her cheek, rubbing it with his thumb. “We’re going to do this.”
The stretch of her smile felt so damn good as she rested her hand against his, keeping him here, just like this. She wished she had a camera too. She wished she could capture a picture that would do the love etched into his face justice.
“Do you think we should go back to the Pack meeting?” she asked.
“Hell no,” he said through a grin. “Fuck the Pack tonight. I’m going to make us dinner and fuck you again here in a couple of hours.
” He stood and made his way to her duffle bag and pulled out his oversized T-shirt that was still stuffed in there.
He brought it back to her and spread it out over her hips like a blanket, then grabbed a pillow and settled it under her cheek.
She watched the strong planes of his back as he built a fire across the room.
“You have no clothes.”
“I have some in my truck,” he murmured.
“Maybe you should keep some clothes here,” she offered softly, testing.
He cast her a look over his shoulder. “Do you want to shop for a house with me?”
She shook her head ‘no’ and watched the hope cool in his eyes. He returned his attention to the fire he was lighting.
“I want us to live here.”
He looked back at her again, and the hope was back. “This den is your choice?”
She smiled and nodded. “Our den. We could fix it up together. I feel like I found myself while I’ve been here.
I like when you are here too. It feels right having you here with me.
I like it even better than your last house.
That den was yours. This one, we can build up together. This one is for us.”
He looked around the room and stood. Nathan inhaled deeply and ran his hand down his beard. He nodded. “I can fix it up for you. I can talk to Liam about what it would cost to buy it. We can make it work.”
“Offering me rings, and making promises,” she teased. “I think you like me after all.”
The door of the wood stove was still open, and the flickering fire cast gold highlights across his skin. He looked like a demigod here.
“I like you after all,” he agreed. “I want to know everything about you.”
“Will you be patient if I ask if you’re okay?”
“Yes,” he answered immediately. “I know what it feels like when you don’t care enough to ask.” He shook his head. “Ask me every day if you want.”
But she wouldn’t have to ask. She just knew she wouldn’t. Now, Delta knew how to talk to him, and Nathan knew how to let her in.
He’d destroyed his carefully constructed walls just for her to have a safe place beside him.
The Rogue Pack was a mess, and they had a long way to go to bond, but they had something here. Something special. Something important.
This was the beginning of something big, and she wanted them to have front row seats at the build-up.
She had faith in Liam to lead them, and faith in Nathan to be a good Second.
She had faith in Nory as a friend, and faith that the other boys were going to crack her up somedays and piss her off on others.
There would be more good days than bad now. She just felt it.
And it all started with him.
Nathan was making a safe foundation for her. He was learning a balance between taking care of her and giving her room to grow, and for the first time since she’d met him, she knew without the shadow of a doubt that he had been the mate that was meant for her.
She liked that he was possessive and protective. She liked that he was imperfect but took accountability for mistakes. She liked that he was dominant, and powerful.
A trying man was a valuable man, and already Nathan had turned so many things around.
No, he hadn’t been ready when they’d paired. Not really.
But now?
He pressed another kiss onto her knuckles and she rested her chin on top of his head, staring at the fire in their wood stove, in their dilapidated den, in the territory of their Pack.
Now, she couldn’t imagine her life without him.
