Chapter 5
Chapter Five
Ivy
“Precious, you need to relax some,” Reaper says as we step into our house. The very same house my best friend was kidnapped from.
Tears prick my eyes at the thought. Damn these hormones and them constantly making me cry. Nowadays, I seem to cry at the simplest thing. Reaper could be telling me that he loves me, and the water works start up.
“I’m fine. I’ll relax once I’ve made sure Sutton has what she needs,” I state, moving deeper into the house and to the room my best friend made hers.
She'd moved in and pretty much became a roommate even though Reaper and I haven’t slept here in a while.
My man prefers us to be at the clubhouse since he’s constantly there in case he’s needed.
We’ll eventually move back in here, maybe after we make a path leading from one point to the other.
This would be easier for us. I think he still has a fear of something happening to me, and I don’t blame him.
I mean, my best friend was kidnapped when it was supposed to be me.
Reaper wraps a hand around my waist, spins me to face him, and wraps his strong arms around me—stopping me in the hallway.
“Ivy, I know you’re upset and blaming yourself for this shit, but you’re gonna have to take it easy.
Remember, you’re pregnant. Sutton herself, even in her state of mind, would hate for something to happen to you or our kid. ”
The tears pricking my eyes finally fall, and I bury my head in Reaper’s chest. He lets me cry, soaking his shirt for God knows how long, but when I finally get it together, I’m mentally and physically exhausted.
Lifting my head from his chest, I meet his eyes as he reaches up, cups the side of my face, and uses his thumb to swipe the last of my tears away.
“Come on, Precious, let’s get what we’re here for and go back to the clubhouse. We’ll get one of the prospects to take the bag up to Tombstone,” he suggests.
I nod, sucking in a breath as I regain my composure. “I swear if these hormones don’t stop making me cry all the damn time, I’m going to be a complete blubbering mess, and you’ll never wanna be near me.”
“Now that ain’t true, and you fuckin’ know it,” Reaper growls and pulls me close to him. “Do you need a reminder of the first time I fucked you in this house?”
My thighs clench at the thought of him sliding between my legs and thrusting his cock into me. God, I’d love nothing more than for him to fuck the hell out of me.
“Fuck, Precious. I love that look in your eyes and knowing you want my cock,” he says, his voice thick and raspy. Leaning down, he captures my lips and presses me into the nearest wall.
I moan into the kiss giving him access as he plunges his tongue in my mouth. I wrap my arms around Reaper’s neck at the same time he lifts, and I move my legs to his hips—my maxi dress is pulled well above my waist, and he finds I’m not wearing panties.
Growling, he reaches between us and releases his cock from its confinement. Lining himself up, he thrusts to the hilt.
“Daniel,” I moan against his mouth, wanting . . . no needing more. I kiss him again, wanting him to claim my mouth as he fucks me.
Reaper has a way of making me lose my mind with lust when he’s inside me. Time seems to stand still as he works his cock within my folds, thrusting—hitting my sweet spot every time. Breaking my mouth from his, I arch, taking him deeper.
My orgasm rips through me, and I dig my nails in my man’s shoulders, screaming his name. Reaper follows behind, roaring out his release. His cock twitches, and his cum spurts coating my walls. If I weren’t already knocked up, I would be now.
Reaper lets out a harsh breath before setting me on my feet and readjusting my dress in place. Once he’s sure I won’t fall, he shoves himself back in his jeans. “Let’s get this done with, Precious. That’s only a taste of what we’re gonna do when I get you to our room.”
Oh boy . . . my body loves the thought.
Licking my lips, I nod, pressing myself into his warmth. Anytime I’m with Reaper, I feel safe and whole.
Stepping away from him, I start toward Sutton’s room.
Inside, I grab the duffel bag she uses whenever she’ goes to a mud bog with our friends and me.
I empty the contents out on her bed and start to pack the bag with her essentials—brush, lotion, hair bands.
I move back to the hallway, going into the bathroom right across the hall.
Grabbing her hair products . . . I don’t know how anyone could have so many things they put in their hair.
But Sutton likes to keep her hair the way she likes it without frizz.
Packing the items in the duffel bag, I snag her toothbrush and toothpaste. I want Sutton to have everything she needs. Going back into her room, I place the bag on her bed and move to one of the dressers. The entire time Reaper’s watching silently from a chair seated in the corner of the room.
Opening the first drawer, I grab her a few tank tops and move on to the next. Finishing with the one dresser, I move to the next. I open one and frown when I notice it’s empty except for a few envelopes. One of the return addresses catches my eye, and I pick it up to find out what it’s about.
My chest tightens at what I’m sure it contains. Flipping the letter open, I suck in a harsh breath.
“Precious, what’s wrong?” Reaper asks, having rushed across the room to my side.
I hand the letter over to him, my mind swirling at this new information. “I . . . I think what happened to Sutton was just the cherry on top for a shit storm that was already brewing.”
“What do you mean?” he demands, taking the letter from me and reading the heading. “Who does Sutton know that’s in prison, and why would the Department of Corrections be contacting her?”
Wringing my fingers in my hands, I say, “Her stepbrother.”
“Her stepbrother,” he repeats, holding the letter up. “Why would they be sending this to her?”
Closing my eyes, I hate I’m about to do this.
Though if Chad is being released, then I have no choice but to tell Reaper.
He has to be prepared for anything. “Chad Berry’s spent the last ten years in prison for manslaughter and nearly beating Sutton to death.
If he’s out, then I’m pretty sure he’ll come after her.
He always thought of her as his. Having put some weird claim on her.
I never understood it. Neither did she.”
“Fuck,” he mutters, pulling his phone from his pocket and swiping his finger across the screen before bringing the thing to his ear.
I hold my breath as he meets my gaze and waits.
“Scythe, get me anything you can on a Chad Berry.” He doesn’t wait for an answer.
Instead, he hangs up and shoves his phone back in his pocket.
“Finish up, Precious. I want you back at the clubhouse where I know your safe.”
And there you go, my man going into full-blown protective mode. I know he’ll stop at nothing to keep me safe and, in extension, keep Sutton safe. She’s not only one of my girls. She’s family, and he knows how much all of them mean to me. More so, Sutton’s been claimed by Tombstone.
God help the asshole who tries to go against them when they’re like this.
