Epilogue

Isabelle

Summer is in full swing, and today everyone is relaxing outside after the guys got back from going on a ride. Ivy, Sutton, and I stayed behind to get everything ready for when they returned.

They wanted to have a party, and we spent a good part of the day preparing for it. The guys will cook the meat on the grills, but there’s no way they’ll do the rest.

While I put together the pasta salad and potato salad, Ivy made her dishes, and Sutton did hers.

We all took time keeping an eye on Ivy and Reaper’s twins.

I love spending time with those two sweethearts.

They’re adorable and have every last member of the club tied around their finger.

Especially Sage. She’s the princess, and when she gets older, I feel for anyone who comes near her.

Everleigh, Josephine, and Juniper finally got here about thirty minutes before the guys pulled back in.

I knew Everleigh and Josephine were going to be late due to their jobs, but I shouldn’t be surprised about Juniper.

Over the last few months, I’ve noticed a change in her, and it’s one that makes me feel uncomfortable.

Something’s up with her, and it’s not good.

A set of arms wraps around me from behind, and I relax into the warm body they’re attached to while I laugh at Sutton.

“What are y’all laughing at?” Hellhound asks, pressing a kiss to the side of my neck.

I tilt my head back and smile. “Sutton was just telling us about how Tombstone took the news about her being pregnant.”

Hellhound smirks and shakes his head before looking at Sutton. “He pass out on you?”

“No, the big jerk freaked and started mumbling about baby-proofing the house.” She giggles, “I’m only twelve weeks, and he’s going to end up having the whole place bubble wrapped, including me before he or she even gets here.”

“You sure it’s just one kid?” Ivy snickers.

“Hahahaha.” Sutton rolls her eyes, smiling. “According to my ultrasound, it’s only showing one baby. So that’s what I’m going with. Twins don’t run in my family, and I’m hoping they don’t in his.”

I giggle for a moment before a thought pops into my head, and my eyes nearly pop out of my head.

“What’s wrong, Críona?” Hellhound asks, feeling me tense.

I whip around to face him, planting my hands on his chest. “What . . . what if we have twins? I don’t know if they run in your family .

. . but Scythe and Styxx. They’re twins.

Oh no. I don’t think I could handle carrying twins.

That would be too much. The thought of one freaks me out but being responsible for two is way different.

I mean, sure, I help with Paxton and Sage, but that’s T totally different.

They’re not ours. I can give them back when they’re crying and whatnot. ”

Hellhound shuts me up by kissing me deeply, then rests his forehead against mine. “You saying what I think you’re saying, Críona?”

“Um,” I breathe, pressing myself closer.

“Yeah, I think you’re telling me you got my baby inside you.” He grins and pulls me even closer and slams his mouth to mine.

Catcalls and whistles hit my ears. Hellhound lifts his head enough to smile down at me, his eyes glittering with happiness. I know at that moment, even if I were carrying twins, he’d be there for me every step of the way.

Stella

My heart flutters with pure happiness that finally, my brother has someone in his life that’s not a disappointment. For the first time, he can be happy and not worry about a thing. Isabelle’s perfect for him.

Years ago, I screwed up by rebelling against him. I can’t blame it on anyone or anything. I was simply being stupid. Because of my actions, I lost my brother. Hellhound did what he needed to do for the both of us by sending me away.

I ended up finishing school, going to college, got my medical degree, and now I’m back in his life. I don’t want to be a disappointment anymore. I want to find my own happiness, but I don’t think it’s in the cards for me. Especially now.

But it’ll be okay. What’s going on in my life will stay that way. No one needs to know. Not about the threats I’ve been getting. Nor do they need to know about the baby I’m carrying.

Sighing, I rest my hand on my stomach nonchalantly as I scan the party and roll my eyes when I spot Juniper all but latching onto Angel like a leech. I’ve heard all of her friends tell her to cool it, though she never listens.

Angel, his road name’s Dark Angel, but everyone just calls him Angel because it’s easier. I swallow nervously anytime his gaze comes to mine, like now. Only he’s got this annoyed look in his eyes. One that tells me he’s none too happy about seeing me. I get why and don’t blame him.

I wish I could go to him, but I can’t. Well, I won’t. He’s not mine and never will be.

Dropping my gaze from his, I spin on my heel and make my way out of there.

I’m not needed to be around. If it weren’t for the women who’ve entered the lives of these men, I wouldn’t be here as it is.

So, I’m going to go back to being invisible.

Or maybe I should just go back to Ireland.

At least there, I won’t have to face the pain that fills me anytime I see him.

And he’ll never find out the truth or my secret I now hold to myself.
