Chapter Nineteen
Reaper
I follow my brother back to the clubhouse, feeling for him. We’ve lost enough in our lives, and finally, we’ve got someone we care for. Both of us. I’d do anything for Ivy, and I can see it in Angel, he’ll do anything for Stella.
As we step through the tunnel into Angel’s bathroom, I know I’ll have to keep him in check. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to lock him down.
Stella’s always been a part of the family.
She’s Hellhound’s little sister, so even if she weren’t with Angel, the club would still protect her.
But her being with my little brother puts her in another category altogether.
She’s not only with my only sibling left, but she’s also carrying my niece or nephew.
Styxx meets us in the hallway, a grim look on his face.
“You get a location?” Angel demands, his voice has taken on a deadpan tone meaning he’s not just Angel right now, he’s Death Angel. The reason our dad gave him the name? He finds where she is, and all hell will break loose more than it already will be.
Seeing this as well, Styxx takes a small step back and glances at me and answers the question. The moment he gives us the possible locations, I grab Angel’s arm.
“Don’t make me lock you down, Angel. Need you with me on this. Stella needs you. Don’t do this,” I state firmly, meeting his gaze.
“I know my woman needs me,” he says coolly. “I let her get taken, and now I could lose her and our kid. Don’t think for a minute you can lock me down and keep me from getting to them.”
“Brother, I wouldn’t do that unless I have no choice. Stella’s family and you know I’d do anything for her just like I’d do for Ivy.”
“Great, now can we fuckin’ go?”
“Yeah,” I mutter, dropping my hand from his arm and he stalks off.
I know him. He won’t go until he gets a definite location or at least a more than likely one.
Looking to our brothers who joined us, I jerk my chin up.
“Let’s get out of here and find Stella. Styxx, what’s the most possible location they’d go to? ”
“The old abandoned insane asylum. From what I’ve found so far on the Scarlet Needles, they are using places like this to work out of. With Miles’s association with them, I’m sure that’s the location, but I can’t say one hundred percent that would be it.”
“Right, Thanatos, Beast, Diablo, check out the other three locations on the list.” I give the orders and start after Angel.
As I do so, I do something I’ve only ever done when it comes to Ivy. I send a prayer and hope someone listens, ‘cause if we lose Stella, we’ll lose Angel.
And I’m not about to lose anyone else in my life. I’ve finally let the ghosts of the past go, and I’m not about to have any more.
