Chopper

It took me a while to convince Roxy we weren’t going to Darren’s house. She wanted to bash his face in and I can’t blame her. I want to do a whole lot more than give him a black eye and broken nose.

I told her I’ll handle Darren and I’ll make sure he never tries to pull something like this on another Savage princess. When she finally agreed to let me deal with him, I wanted to sag with relief.

Once she’s had time to calm down, we grabbed dinner before heading home. Everyone eats in almost silence and as soon as Roxy suggests they watch a movie in their room, the triplets disappear down the hallway and Storm turns his attention towards me.

“What’s going on?”

I pull my phone out of my pocket and show him the public post and all of the comments. He mutters a curse under his breath before meeting my gaze.

“What’s the plan?”

I love how he doesn’t try to calm me down or go about this in a more civil manner. He’s on board with whatever I want to do.

“I think we need some prospects to get here. They can keep an eye on the girls. Then we can go deal with this punk. I think we should take three more guys with us. We need the scariest looking club members.”

“Got it. I’ll get Scar, Blaze, and Izzy.”

I chuckle when I think about the three guys. They’re all covered in tattoos and muscles. They’re the scariest looking men I know and people typically give them a wide birth. No one wants to get close to them.

I peek in the girls’ room to check on them before I head out. Roxy’s eyes meet mine immediately. There are so many questions in them.

Plopping down on the edge of her bed, I lean back until my head is resting on the pillow next to hers. I keep my voice soft enough that Dixie and Oakley won't be able to hear me.

“Storm and I are going to pay Darren a visit. We’re taking Scar, Blaze, and Izzy with us. I’ll make sure he never wants anything to do with you again.”

“Who will be here with us?”

“I’m having two prospects watch over you.” I smile at how she knows she’s never left alone. We will always keep her safe and she doesn’t fight that.

“Thank you,” she whispers softly.

“Of course.” I press a soft kiss to her forehead before pulling away. “I’ll be back soon.”

The five of us pull up outside of Darren’s house. The home is dark except for a light in an upstairs bedroom. We glance at each other and I smirk. I'm not afraid of climbing a tree and scaring the life out of this guy.

Before we can make a move, a car whips into the driveway and a bunch of teenage boys hop out. They eye us, but hurry towards the door.

“Let’s go,” I murmur.

We come up behind the teenagers right as Darren opens the door. The smile on his face disappears as soon as he sees me.

“What’s up, man? Long time no see, right?” I pretend I'm happy to see him, but in reality, I'm wondering how far I can take this without upsetting Porter.

We tend to keep violence away from the townspeople, but this is a special circumstance. This kid came after one of us and we won't let him get away with that.

“What are you doing here?” His eyes bounce from me to Storm and then the other three bikers. He swallows hard and I don’t miss the way his hands are shaking.

“Well, we wanted to talk to you about something… Do you want to do this in front of your friends, or should we ask them for some privacy?”

“No! They’re staying.” He quickly shuts the front door behind him as he steps out onto the porch.

I glance around and smile when I don’t see a camera in sight.

So many people have those doorbell cameras, but Darren lives in a poorer section of the town and I haven’t seen a single one on any of the houses on this street.

I'm pretty sure he believes we’ll go easier on him if we have witnesses and we’re outside. He couldn’t be more wrong.

“Ok, cool. I had a quick question for you about a post I saw on social media.” I open my phone and spin the screen around to face him. The screen lights up his face enough for me to see the color drain and him go white as a sheet.

“I can explain!” He holds his hands up to cover his face and I almost laugh. How does he think that’s going to save him?

“Oh, ok. Go on. We’re happy to listen to your explanation.

” I motion for him to keep going. I’d love nothing more than to watch this guy try to come up with an excuse about why he thought that was acceptable to post something like this on social media, especially as a public post. To doctor up a photo to look like Roxy was doing things she wasn’t.

“I kept ask-asking her out,” he stumbles over his words. If I wasn’t livid about what he did, I’d be finding this comical. “She wouldn’t g-go out with m-me.”

“Mhm. So you decided to post a fake photo making it seem like she was doing things with you that she’d never do?” I shake my head, glancing over my shoulder at Storm. “What do you think, Storm? Is that an acceptable reason to try to ruin Roxy’s reputation?”

“You know…” Storm strokes his beard like he’s really thinking about it. “I actually don’t think there’s any reason to do that to a woman.”

“Especially when her dad is the president of the Savage Wolves,” Scar adds.

“Do you really think it’s smart to mess with Savage royalty?” Blaze shudders like he’s actually afraid.

“Porter Reeves is the last person in the world I’d want to mess with,” Izzy winces.

“B-but I didn’t m-mess with him!” Darren’s eyes are filled with tears and he looks like he’s about to bolt, but that’s not happening. Not until I teach him a lesson.
