“Hey, baby.” One of the new prospects from a local club, the Sinners, sidles up to the bar and aims a bright smile at me.

I guarantee someone put him up to this. One of the patched club members probably told him I was interested or kept looking his way. They encouraged him in some way to come flirt with me. They want to see how far he’ll get before either I punch him in the face, or he backs down.

Either way, he loses.

“What’s your name?” I keep my tone even and make sure he doesn’t hear the annoyance begging to break free.

“Wilson.” His smile widens as he looks me up and down. Does he seriously think he has a shot with me?

“Wilson? That sounds like a country club name, not a biker name.” I wrinkle up my nose like his name disgusts me.

“Well, I didn’t have a say in what my mama named me.”

“Maybe not, but you do have a say in who you introduce yourself as.”

“Ok, then my name is… Wrench.”

“Eh, that’s a terrible name. Try again.” I wave him off as Storm shouts an order to me. I nod my head so he knows I heard him and begin pouring his alcohol.

Storm and Chopper won't step in unless they think I need them. We typically let other clubs into Savage to drink, but if they cause problems, they’re out. We don’t tolerate much drama here.

“Ace?”

“That’s so cliché. Are you sure you’re actually prospecting?” I arch a brow, making him squirm in his seat.

“Stealth.”

“Hmmm… not horrible. But you already introduced yourself as Wilson so now you can't undo it.” I smirk as I round the bar and deliver the beer to Storm’s table. The guys thank me and quickly take their glasses from my hands.

As I head back to the bar, Wilson stands from his stool and positions himself in my path. There’s no other way to get behind the bar. He thinks he has the upper hand, but he’s wrong.

“Can I help you, Wilson?” I place my free hand on my hip and dare him to do something.

“I want you to come home with me tonight.”

“Um, no thanks. You’re a prospect, you don’t have a place. You live in a room, you most likely don’t even have your own bathroom. Why would I want to come to your room?”

“Because I want you.” He takes a step forward and wraps an arm around my waist.

Dang, he’s ballsy. I'm not sure what the Sinners told him, but they were setting him up for failure. I glance in the direction of the Sinners’ table and Storm’s table.

They’re right next to each other. I find six sets of wide eyes staring back at me.

There’s one set of narrowed eyes locked on Wilson’s arm.

I almost smile, loving how livid Chopper is right now.

I’ll never admit it to anyone, but I love how protective he is of me.

“What you want doesn’t matter, little boy. I don’t want you.” I try to step away from him, but he tightens his arm. He thinks he has the upper hand, but he doesn’t.

He lifts me into the air and I don’t fight him. I let him place me on the bar and step between my legs. I stare down at him, waiting to see what else he’ll try. So far, he has balls of steel.

“I’m not a little boy, Rox. I’m all man.” He trails his fingers up my inner thigh and I narrow my gaze on him.

He doesn’t get to touch me just because some idiots psyched him up for this. I place my hand in the center of his chest and smile sweetly at him. As soon as he thinks I'm going to give in, I shove him backwards as hard as I can.

Leaning backwards over the bar, I grab one of the four baseball bats I have strategically placed around here and hop off the bar. He’s still lying on the floor, trying to figure out what just happened.

I pace in a circle around him and let the bat drag across the floor. The entire place is silent as everyone watches to see what I’ll do next. They know this isn't tolerated at my bar.

“I was nice when I said I didn’t want you.

I even tolerated it when you picked me up and put me on the bar.

I kept my cool, but you don’t get to touch me intimately.

I don’t know where you got the idea it was ok to manhandle me, but it’s not.

The men you view as brothers? They set you up.

You were too stupid to realize it. Do you even know who I am? ”

“Roxy? They said you like bikers and you want to be an old lady.” His brows furrow as he glances back at the guys he was sitting with. They all look sheepish, but don’t say a word.

Storm and Chopper shake their heads from the next table over.

I know they’d never set up our prospects like this.

They know it’s their job to be someone the prospects can look up to.

Someone they can hope to be one day. They take Savage Wolves prospects under their wings and teach them how to be real men.

“You’re even more stupid than I thought.” I chuckle. “I'm Roxy Reeves. The daughter of the Savage Wolves’ president. One of the three daughters you’ve probably been warned to stay away from.”

Even though Dad isn't the Sinners’ president, I know stories about him and his reputation are spoken about among all the motorcycle clubs in the area, especially if they’re entering our town.

“Sadly, you picked the wrong daughter to flirt with and try to force yourself on. Dixie? Before she was Storm’s, she would’ve been gentle and tried not to hurt your feelings.

Honestly, she’d probably ask Storm to talk to you so she didn’t have to deal with you again and she wouldn’t feel guilty.

Now, Storm would kill you and gut you before you even had a chance to look at his wife twice. ”

I give myself a second to think about Oakley and how she’d respond. I like letting the anticipation build and giving everyone a real show. I’ll make sure they all leave tonight knowing who’s in charge at Savage.

“Oakley? She’s single and doesn’t give a crap about anything.

She’d probably entertain you for a while.

If you pushed her too far, she’d put you in your place, but she’d be gentle about it.

She knows someone is always watching and willing to step in and help.

She wouldn’t be intimidated or scared of you because there’s always someone bigger and badder at her back. ”

I lift my bat off the ground and slam the end into Wilson’s stomach. It forces all of the air out of him and he groans, but I don’t move the metal from his body.

“Me? I don’t need someone at my back. I’ll handle you all by myself.

You see, Willy, I'm not sweet or innocent. I’ll never be gentle or entertain you just to make you feel better about yourself.

I’m the honey badger who doesn’t give a crap.

I’ll rip your face off and feed it to you and you’ll say thank you while I do it.

I’ll take my trusty bat and break body parts you didn’t know could break. ”

I watch as his face drains of all color and he stares up at me with horror. He didn’t know who he was screwing with tonight, but I guarantee he won't make that mistake again.

“If you ever try to stand in my way again, I’ll break your knees. If you try to pick me up, I’ll break your arms. If I even think you’re going to touch me, I’ll smash each and every finger you have to the point doctors won't be able to fix them.”

“I-I’m sorry,” he stutters out, looking like he’s about to puke. Gone is the confidence and cockiness he had before. Now, he’s terrified. I just hope he doesn’t pee himself. I'm not cleaning that up.

“Oh, you will be sorry. Now, be a good little boy and stay right where you are while I talk to the rest of these idiots.”

I climb on top of the bar and let my gaze trail over every face. I want to know exactly which of the guys put him up to this and I'm guessing it’s the table of men who are refusing to look at me.

“If I find out any of you pieces of crap encourage someone to touch a woman against her will, I’ll do the same to you as I promised to do to your boy, Willy.

Except it will be double the pain. I’ll make sure you answer to Porter Reeves and I guarantee what I just told Wilson I’d do would be child’s play compared to what the Savage Wolves’ president would do to protect his daughters. ”

I keep my eye on the table I know is responsible and they fidget with the attention.

I know Storm and Chopper will back me up if I need them.

They’ll happily report back to Dad and let him know how the Sinners’ club members are behaving.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he talks to their president and makes sure these guys are dealt with and kept in line.

“Now, does anyone have any questions?” I ask in a super sweet voice. “If not, you three,” I point at the table of men still fidgeting and muttering things to each other, “Should probably get Willy and leave my bar before I change my mind and teach all of you a lesson.”

They all slowly stand and help Wilson off the floor. They’re almost to the door when I stop them again.

“And if you think about leaving this bar without paying, I’ll hunt you down and make sure I have Storm and Chopper with me. We’ll teach you exactly what happens when you cross the Savage Wolves.”

One of the guys fishes money out of his pocket and slams it down on the end of the bar before following his friends outside.

A roar of laughter erupts through the bar and most of the men start clapping. I bow like my performance has come to an end and before I can climb off the bar, Chopper’s there to help me down.

“Sometimes I forget how ruthless you can be.” He chuckles.

“Only to the people who deserve it.” I sigh as I take his hand and climb down.

“What can I do to make this night better?” He cages me between the bar and his hard chest.

If he were any other guy, I’d be ramming this bat into his stomach and breaking at least a few bones, but not Chopper. I know I'm safe with him and I don’t need to worry about what he might try.

To an outsider, he’s a tough biker you should be scared of. To me, he’s the sweet boy I grew up with. The boy I knew I could take all of my problems to and he’d make it all better. He’s the one I can trust and know he’ll always have my back.
