Chopper

As soon as I wake up the next morning and get ready, I head over to Roxy’s place and knock on the door.

It takes a few minutes, but eventually Oakley opens the door.

She has her hair tied into a messy bun on the top of her head.

Half of her hair is falling out of the hair tie and falling past her shoulders, but she doesn’t seem to care.

She’s wearing a crop top, showing off her toned stomach, and pajama pants with little dogs on them.

I almost chuckle, thinking about how different Roxy is from her sisters.

“She just woke up,” Oakley yawns, not even trying to cover her mouth.

Like I said, we’re like siblings. We don’t care how we look or act around each other and I love it.

“Sounds about right. That woman can’t wake up in the morning. I don’t know why she insisted we go to breakfast before I have to go to work.” I glance at my watch. I have plenty of time. My first appointment isn’t until ten today.

Since I stay at the bar until closing most nights, I like to start my day a little later than the average plumber would. I’d rather give myself the time to sleep in if I need it.

“I'm coming!” Roxy calls as she exits her room. She’s trying to slip on a pair of boots as she hops down the hallway towards me.

“Take your time. I'm in no rush.” I smile at how adorable she is. Today she has on a pair of skinny black jeans and a red sweater that hugs every curve. As usual she’s stunning.

“I know, but I woke up late and I didn’t have time to do my makeup. I'm a hot mess.” She flips her hair over as she hangs her head and gathers the strands. She quickly ties them into a messy bun, looking just like Oakley.

“You’re beautiful, even when you don’t have makeup on. Stop worrying about it.” I tug her into my arms as soon as she’s close enough and kiss her.

“Aw, man! I always thought Roxy would be the last single Reeves triplet. Now I’ll be the only one having to deal with flirty prospects.” Oakley folds her arms over her chest and sighs dramatically.

“Don’t worry, Oaks. No one is going to flirt with you when you look like… well, that.” Roxy motions in Oakley’s general direction, making her scowl.

“Dang, Oaks! Looking good,” a guy calls from outside of the apartment. I spin around to glare at them. No one should be talking to her like that.

I come face to face with one of the new prospects.

Morris and Jasper have been prospecting for around six months and I know Porter plans to patch them within the next six months.

He likes to have the next set of prospects come in and learn from the previous ones before they get patched.

It makes things go a little more smoothly.

Bringing in new prospects every six months also makes it a little easier to keep our club larger and to scare away other clubs from starting drama.

“Excuse me? You don’t talk to Oakley, Dixie, or Roxy like that,” I growl, pinning the punk against the brick wall. “Didn’t Morris and Jasper have a talk with you about that?”

“Y-Yes. Sorry, Chopper. I won't d-do it again.” The kid looks like he’s about to throw up. It would serve him right if he did. He’d think about embarrassing himself every time he glances in the girls’ direction. It would be the best lesson he’ll ever learn.

“Jasper?” I arch a brow at him as I glance over my shoulder.

“I told him several times that the girls are off limits. He doesn’t like to listen since I'm not patched yet.” Jasper shrugs.

I understand where he’s coming from. Without being patched, the new guys don’t think they need to listen to you.

It’s frustrating, but nothing he says or does is going to make them respect him, not until he’s patched.

“When you look at Jasper and Morris, you should just pretend they’re patched. Do you understand me?” I growl, right in his face. I don’t even know what his name is. He must’ve just been brought on.

“Yes!”

“If you don’t listen again when they tell you something, I’ll make sure you’re out of the club.”

“I-I won't! I promise!”

“And from now on, if you see a Savage princess, I want you to leave the room. You don’t even deserve to be in the same room as them if you can’t treat them with respect. Get out of here. I don’t even want to look at you anymore.”

I release the kid and he scampers away so quickly I'm surprised he doesn’t fall flat on his face.

“Man, I'm going to have fun with him.” Oakley steps out of the apartment with a smirk on her face.

“What do you mean?” I narrow my gaze on her. Though Oakley’s normally pretty easy going, she has a devilish side and I never quite trust her.

“Well, every time I see him in the dining room, I'm going in there, just to see how quickly he runs away.” She grins up at me.

“The kid might puke if he ever sees you again.” I chuckle, shaking my head.

“I’ll deal with him, Oak. You won't have to worry about him flirting again.” Jasper shoves his hands in his pockets, but he’s staring at Oakley like he wants to reach out and pull her into his arms.

“Thanks, Jasper.” She grins before disappearing into her apartment again. The door shuts with a loud thud right as Roxy appears at my side.

“Are you ready?” She blinks up at me with those gorgeous green eyes.

“Always. Let’s get something to eat before I'm late for work.”

“Everything was delicious as usual, Dixie.” I wipe my mouth with a napkin before setting it back on the table.

“Thanks. I love having the café.” She grins as she glances around the place. It’s hard to believe just a few short months ago, this building looked completely different. We almost had it completely fixed up before the fire, and then had to start all over again.

That’s what I love about being part of the club. We always rally together to get things done. We were able to get the café rebuilt so quickly because of having so many hands on deck.

“You deserve it. You’ve always given the club your all,” Roxy says softly. She loves her sisters so much, but she doesn’t show it like most people would. She’s closed off, even to them. This compliment is out of left field for her.

“Thanks, Roxy.” Dixie squeezes her hand and smiles sweetly. “You deserve to be happy too. I'm glad you’re finally getting there.”

“Alright, we need to head out if I'm going to drop you off at the clubhouse before I go to my first job.”

I pull a couple bills out of my wallet and hand them over to Dixie. She nods her head and quickly slips them into her apron without checking to make sure it’s the right amount. She knows I’d never short her and I don’t want change.

“Actually, do you mind dropping me off at the bar? I need to do some inventory and catch up on a few things. For some reason, I haven’t been at the bar nearly as much as normal.” She smirks up at me as we walk out to my truck.

“I mean I can be busy if you need some time to yourself.” I open the passenger’s door and wait for her to climb in.

“Not a chance, handsome.” She fists my shirt and pulls me down to her level. Her lips are on mine and I can’t help but smile. I love her. Hands down, I’d do anything to make this woman happy for the rest of our lives.

I already asked Porter to order me a property patch. He knows I want to make it clear she’s mine to everyone around, especially after what happened to Dixie.
