Chapter 2 #2
Savage didn’t take his eyes off me until he backed out of the clubhouse, and that’s when I let out a breath of air that I didn’t realise I had been holding.
The bunnies were watching me with interest, probably wondering why someone like Savage was bothering with someone like me.
He was only twenty eight, and I was entering my thirty third year.
I’d always hated the age gap, but he didn’t care.
He never seemed to play into the bullshit of birthdays and anniversaries.
There was so much to love about Niall, and so much to be angry at.
His inability to stay away when I asked him to give me space was a big one, and yet I welcomed him back into my bed every damn time because he made me feel things no one else ever had.
Leesha, in particular, was regarding me and probably wondering what was going on.
It was no secret among the brothers what was happening, they all knew.
So did Ryleigh, Orla and Morena and Maree apparently, but the bunnies remained relatively clueless.
They didn’t share pillow talk with the boys they fucked, it was purely transactional.
Leesha hadn’t been with us for long, and I could already tell she had her sights on a brother before she fell into the pass around territory.
She cocked her head to the side and sauntered over to me, popping her hips.
She needn’t bother. The boys weren’t in the clubhouse right now.
“Leesha.”
“Hey, Shona,” she said, her voice almost purring. “What’s up with you and Savage?”
I shrugged my shoulders. “Nothing much, he was just letting me know about some stuff with Shauna.”
A lie. I hated lying, and yet I did it for Savage all the time.
“Hmm,” she said, not believing me. “You two seem close. I didn’t think he liked anyone other than the brothers.”
A chuckle bubbled to the surface. “I guess over time he warms up to people.”
“So you don’t like him then?”
“Leesha, I have no interest in dating anyone,” I told her. “If you like him, talk to him.”
Please don’t.
“I intend to,” she smirked at me, but I could see the aggravation in her eyes. She’d already tried, I could tell. “Is he going back with the Nomads?”
“I suppose he would be, yes,” I replied. I did everything to keep the edge out of my tone, but I could tell by her annoying smirk that she knew it was bugging me.
“I might get a ride and help relieve some tension for him while he’s there. Who knows, when we return, I might be one of the girls who gets to boss you around.”
She was trying to be cute, but I knew the women would never accept her. They never did. Bunnies very rarely ever leveled up to a wife but, sure, let her try.
“I look forward to it, Leesha.”
She tossed her hair over her shoulder and sauntered into the corner the bunnies hung out in.
“Ignore her,” Kayleigh, one of the other bunnies said, coming up to me behind the bar and helping get things ready. “She’s only new. She’ll learn the order of things eventually.”
“I don’t pay her any attention anyway, Kay. You helping me today?”
She nodded. “Yeah, she’s a little green for my tastes.”
“She’s here for a husband,” I explained.
Kayleigh laughed. “Think she’s seen too many episodes of Sons of Anarchy.”
I chuckled as I helped Kayleigh unload the dishwasher and put the glasses away.
I liked her, she wasn’t stuck up or expecting a relationship.
Her friendship with Fury, Rebel and Ryleigh was secure.
I also knew she was a personal favourite of Trigger, one of our Nomads, and an old friend of Fury’s.
She wasn’t pretentious or stuck up, and welcomed everyone with open arms. If any of the bunnies were to level up, she’d be the one.
“We should go out,” Orla said, coming to sit at the bar. “I heard there’s going to be some fun happening in the shed. I’ve been told to clear out of my studio, so I can only imagine how gnarly it’s going to get.”
I knew what that meant but by the way Kayleigh frowned, she didn’t. I sighed and motioned for Kayleigh to tell the girls that they’ll be away from the clubhouse for a few hours.
“I’m staying,” I told her.
“No go,” Orla shrugged. “I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that you are with me and Morena today.”
“By who?”
Orla’s smirk told me before she got up from her stool and leaned over the bar to get closer to me. “I call him Savage, but I’m sure you scream out Niall when he’s balls deep in you.”
I threw my dirty dish towel at her, but couldn’t stop the smirk playing at my lips.
Orla was something else, and the absolute worst when she knew a secret.
She’d never spill it to others, but she would always play dirty to make you uncomfortable.
I liked her the most out of the wives. She was playful, fierce and a strong opponent on the darts board.
“I’ll grab my phone,” I told her and I headed into the room to fetch it. When I turned to join Orla, I came face to face with Savage.
He didn’t look happy.
“Why are you still here?”
“I am just getting my phone. I do live here, you know.”
He sighed. “I know, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to come off like a dick. I just…don't want you to hear what’s about to happen.”
“I’m a big girl, Niall, you don’t need to protect me.”
“What if I want to protect you, Shona?”
I sighed. “I’m not having this conversation right now. Orla is waiting for me.”
He nodded and moved out of the way. I passed by him and into the hall.
His hand reached out and grabbed me, pushing me against the wall of the hallway.
His lips were on mine then, and I instantly melted into him.
His hands gripped my hips, grinding me into his hard cock.
I was desperate for him, needing him to send me spiraling, but we were in public.
I pushed him away, but he stayed boxing me in against the wall. “‘I have to go.”
“Tonight,” he said, his voice gravelly and curt. He always sounded like that when we kissed. “We need to talk.”
I shoved at his chest and tried to get away only to turn when someone cleared their throat. Not just anyone, but Leesha.
She stood there, her hand on her hip and a shocked expression on her face, like a deer in headlights.
“Well, I didn’t take you for a liar, Shona.”
I tried to roll my eyes but I felt Savage come up beside me. “What did you just call her?”
Leesha had the good grace to shrink back, realising Savage was in no mood to play. “I didn’t mean anything by it.”
“Get lost,” he ordered and she tottered off out of the clubhouse, leaving me with Savage. “Why is she talking to you like that?”
“No reason.”
He held up his arm, blocking my exit and I turned back to him. He was in no mood to play, and I knew it was because he was pissed off at Leesha. He was always protecting me, even from the bunnies when they got out of line.
“Why did she say you were a liar?” he asked, the tone in his voice a little menacing. My pussy clenched, like it always did when he protected me.
“I told her there was nothing going on between us and she just saw you kissing me, so she thought I was lying. It’s nothing serious, Niall.”
“Why would she care?”
“She wants you,” I told him, trying to hide my jealousy from him.
“And why would I want someone like her?” he asked, getting closer to me. “She’s skin and bones, and I’ve got you, looking like the only kind of snack I want to feast on for days. Do you know what the best part of it is?”
He was so close to my face, his breath in my ear, his scent overwhelming me. “What?”
“I can grab onto your hips and shove my face in between your legs and get my fill of your pussy, your thighs smashing against my head, holding me in place as you scream my name. Only you, Shona, can ever call me that. So she was right in a way…you are a liar. This conversation is not over.”
He grabbed my jaw and pulled my lips to his in a crushing kiss before he pushed off the wall and left me grasping onto the closest door to support me. How the hell could he always take my breath away?
My pussy was throbbing for his attention after his dirty words, and I begged for him to eat me out like he usually did when we snuck off together.
The man may as well be a deep sea diver with the way he could stay buried in my pussy.
I had timed him once, he’d eaten me out for twenty nine minutes and multiple orgasms that had completely sent me into oversensitivity land, which I had needed to come down from before I could let him touch me again.
He was perfect in so many ways, and that was why I needed to get away.
I couldn’t fall for him. Even though I knew I already had, I didn’t want to admit it out loud or else I’ll never be free of him.
I’ll never leave and give him a chance at a happy life.
I pushed off the wall and took a deep breath before I moved out of the clubhouse and outside to where Orla waited by her car. I needed air, and I needed to get away from Savage before I claimed him publicly and fucked up all my plans.
Savage
Rebel, Fury and Blaze stood around the sides of the room as Viper and I stood in front of the three men we’d snatched that we knew worked for Neal.
The trail led us directly to them, so we knew they were plants.
The only problem with that would be that they wouldn’t know too much, but hell, it would warm up the blood for the war we were in the middle of.
Hawk and Bear stood behind us as we moved toward the first guy.
Viper let him down from his bindings, and he fell to the cement floor knees first. The sharp scream that came out of him was cut off when Viper smacked him across the back with a pipe.
He fell to the ground, his hands only just holding him up as he took in deep heaves of air.
“I don’t know anything,” he sobbed. “Please…he doesn’t tell us anything.”
