Chapter 3

THREE

Shona

“How long exactly do we have to stay away from the clubhouse?” I asked Orla as we sat in the bar.

Ryleigh, Sheridan, Morena and a few of the bunnies were dancing around and making the most of it, but I was bored shitless.

The alcohol ran through me like I was about to make some real bad decisions about Savage.

I should drink water and sober up, but all I could think about was that kiss in the hallway.

My lips were still tingling – both sets of them.

“They’ll send word when they’re done.”

“It doesn’t bother you what they do there?

” I asked her. Orla had been part of the club even when Bear was gone.

She’d always been there when we visited.

Thinking back then made me sick. Ace’s dad, the old prez, Donald had a personal interest in having me come and tend the bar even when Dog was alive.

I knew he wanted me for himself, and he’d only made a pass at me a few times before Butch had shut him down.

I’d never been invited back after that, and I could never tell anyone of the times he’d corner me in the bar late at night after everyone had passed out.

“You mean in the shed?” Orla asked, finishing her drink and motioning for another.

I nodded.

“No, it’s how they keep the bad guys away from us and our businesses, and you know it keeps Kilkenny clean. Why…does it bother you?”

“It used to,” I admit. “When Dog was alive, I knew what he did to people and when he would come back to me after it, covered in blood, I would hate having his hands on me.”

“I don’t mind it,” Orla shrugged her shoulders. “I know Ace showers before he sees Sheridan because she’s queasy about it, but I guess you just make it work somehow.”

I sighed. “Niall does that. He showers in his room before he sneaks into my bed.”

Orla’s smile widened and she spun to face me directly, her back to the girls. “I knew it. Tell me everything.”

Shrugging my shoulders, I tried to ignore the thrill of talking about it with someone that was currently coursing through me.

He’d been my dirty secret for years, and that’s how we liked it, but I was starting to think that I needed more now.

I was starting to get scared about the need to have him close by.

I was starting to be undecided about leaving.

“Nothing to tell really, we’ve hooked up, but you already know that.”

Orla cocked her head to the side. “What’s weighing on you, hon?”

“I am ending it with him,” I told her. “I’m going to travel instead. I don’t belong here. I am Dog’s widow, and I know Ace only kept me here because of what happened. I need to find out who I am without Zach’s legacy hanging over me.”

“You listen to me,” Orla said, putting her hands on my shoulders and forcing me to look at her.

“No one gives a crap about Dog anymore. He made his choices. They weren’t your choices, so you need to stop living in his shadow.

No one thinks of you as his widow anyway.

We all just assume you’re Savage’s woman, so do all the Nomads who come by. You’re off limits.”

I frowned. “But no one knows.”

Orla chuckled, and picked up her new drink. “Babe, everyone knows. You two aren’t as secretive as you think, and Savage definitely knows how to put the scare into anyone thinking of talking to you.”

That took my breath away. “He will get sick of me eventually. I think Leesha plans on putting her claim on him soon.”

Orla laughed. “That woman is going to have every hole of hers used by the Nomads if she keeps it up. She’s a nobody.

Even the bunnies don’t like her, do you see her here with us, having fun?

No. She’s an outsider who thinks she can handle a real man.

Truth is, she’s going to end up used and abused. ”

It’s the way of the club bunny life. At least our bunnies are respected because they know their place in the pecking order, and are genuinely there to support the club.

I looked around, realising that she was right.

Leesha wasn’t here with everyone else. An icy sensation wrapped around my chest as I realised she was probably still at the clubhouse…

with Savage. I knew what he was like after he got himself dirty…

he would always come to me and fuck me senseless for hours.

It was the best sex, fuelled by pure desire and rage.

Maybe I did like what he did in that shed. After… he would come seek his comfort from me and rock my entire existence to its core.

“I need to use the bathroom,” I told her.

Orla nodded and headed over to the girls dancing up a storm while I snuck out of the bar and called an Uber.

Once he dropped me off at the end of the long road, since no one liked to drop us at the gates to the compound anymore, I started power walking down the dirt road with one thing on my mind.

Put an end to Leesha.

Rage took over as I crossed over into the compound, the prospects not bothering to stop me.

I’d have to get them spoken to if they continued to ignore people coming to the clubhouse without being reprimanded.

We hadn’t been told to return which meant they weren’t done, and yet they let me just waltz on in here.

I could see the shed door was open and a blood trail was running through the grass of the grounds, but that didn’t stop me like I thought it would.

I couldn’t see anyone around, which meant they had all dispersed to clean up for the women to come back. I knew she was here though, I could sense it. Marching into the clubhouse, I looked everywhere, but the place was empty. That could only mean one thing.

Fury took over as I headed to Savage’s bedroom.

The sound of the shower running had ice running down my veins.

Kicking open the door, Leesha scrambled up off the bed where she lay in her underwear.

She didn’t have the fresh fucked look about her which calmed me down a little, but why the fuck was she here in the first place?

Leesha held her hand to her chest as if I had startled her and moved off the bed before a malicious smile landed on her face. “I’m sorry you weren’t enough for him.”

I should have backed up and run, but I couldn’t seem to get my body to do what my head knew was right.

Instead, I closed the distance between us and yanked her bleached hair back tight.

She screamed as she flailed about on the ground I had dragged her to, unable to remove my hold on her hair.

The bathroom door flew open and Savage appeared, naked and looking down at the scene before him, but I couldn’t pay him any attention.

I was mad as hell.

I had no right to be. But I was.

I kicked her in the sides and flung her head to the side, hitting it on the bed where she cried out for help. I straddled her and landed punch after punch into her face, and blood flew from her mouth and nose as I connected my fist over and over again.

A strong arm circled around my waist and lifted me off her. My legs and arms flailed in the air as he lifted me up without issue.

“Fuck off, Leesha,” he growled. “Get the fuck out of the clubhouse before I let her go so she can finish the job.”

“But…”

She reached out for Savage, and I elbowed him so he would let me go. He did, grunting in pain as I slapped her hand away.

“Get the fuck away from him,” I found myself growling at her. Surprised by the deepness of my tone, she backed up.

“But you said he wasn’t with you…”

She knew damn well after earlier that we had a thing. She had done this to herself.

“Did I stutter?”

Leesha cussed and tried to get up, but I reached back and connected my fist with her jaw. Her head snapped to the side violently and she fell to the ground, cupping her jaw and looking up at me in horror.

“You’re a fucking psycho,” she screamed before she crawled through the door.

I ran after her, shoving my boot onto her ass and shoving her further down the hall.

I felt Savage behind me, dragging me back into his room and closing the door.

The rage was dissipating and the knowledge of what I had done came back, my hands shaking with who I had become.

“That was fucking hot,” he smirked at me, pushing the hair that had come out of my hairtie back.

“What have I done?” I asked, my voice all but a whisper as I looked down at my shaking hands. His hands dwarfed mine as he wrapped his fingers around them to stop shaking.

“You protected what was yours.”

The smile on his face told me he was happy, but how could he be? I lost control. Maybe he had slept with her. After all, not many people got one over on him. He would have known she was here, somehow.

“Did you sleep with her?” I asked, hearing the anger in my tone before I looked up into his dark eyes.

“You know I didn’t.”

“This isn’t me,” I said. “I’m not like this. I don’t do this.”

“There’s nothing wrong with the darkness inside of you,” Savage said, trying to pull me to him, but I backed up to put distance between us. He had pulled on a pair of sweatpants but remained shirtless, his hair wet from the shower. “Shona…”

I backed up until I was out of his room and made a move to turn to run when he grabbed me again and pulled me back inside, closing the door and slamming me up against it. His mouth was on mine; seeking, exploring, devouring, and all rational thought left my brain.

My hands moved to his neck and pulled him closer, his chest molding against mine, his hands moving to my thighs and lifting me up.

“You claimed what was already yours,” he said against my lips. “Just like I would end whoever dared touch you, you would do it for me, too. You’re mine, Shona, let me show you.”

I didn’t dare refute it, because I couldn’t. I needed to feel him, to touch, taste, devour him. It was a need rather than a want at this point.
