Chapter 33

Killian

I’m sitting at the table with the guys on Thursday night, going over some last minute plans for the party.

“He confirmed he’s coming?” Landon asks, and I nod.

I gesture towards Maddox. “John told him that he was.”

“And we can trust John?” Xander asks, raising his eyebrows.

I let out a sigh. “No. Definitely not. He’s just our only link to Angelo right now.”

Maddox nods in agreement. “It doesn’t matter, though. John doesn’t know that we’re setting Angelo up. And he’s not stupid enough to tell Ang that he’s playing him. He knows he’d be killed if Ang ever knew that he told me anything.”

Asher nods. “Then the plan still stands.”

We all nod in agreement, and Asher looks around at us.

“Everyone knows exactly where they need to be?” he asks, and we all nod again.

We all have designated areas tomorrow. And we’ll continuously rotate. Asher also hired extra guys, so the hotel is going to be swarming with security.

I just pray to god that Angelo takes the bait, so this can be all over with.

Mia keeps telling me that she’s fine, but I know her. I hate how worried she is over this. I think it’s more for my safety than her own, though. I don’t want her to worry about me, but I get it. I worry about her, too.

There’s a knock at the door, and Ash is the one who stands up to get it.

“Mason,” he says.

We wanted to meet earlier in the day today, but Mason’s flight was delayed. Him and Bianca were going to come straight here from the airport.

Ash lets them in, and I hear the bedroom door open.

Mia sees Bianca and runs to her, and when Bianca notices Mia she bursts into tears.

I feel my heart twist, seeing their reunion. I know that Mia is close to Bianca; she said that she was like a sister to her. Neither of them have any family, really, and they’ve always taken care of each other.

Our meeting is interrupted by the girls; Mia wants me to meet Bianca, and Bianca wants her to meet Mason. After fifteen minutes or so, Mia pulls Bianca to our room, and we all sit back down at the table.

“Fill me in,” Mason says, and Asher starts going over everything again. It doesn’t hurt to hear the plan one more time, but I don’t need to. I know exactly where I need to be tomorrow.

I just hope Angelo shows up after all this.

I look around the room, feeling grateful for my brother, for my friends. Besides Hayden, I’ve always been somewhat of a lone wolf, and it feels good to know that the guys have my back. That they have Mia’s back.

Angelo fucked with the wrong crew, honestly.

He’ll learn that the hard way tomorrow night.
