Epilogue
The Future
Nine months later…
The crowds wait patiently outside the castle gate for the announcement to be posted on the royal easel, announcing the birth of the new prince or princess. For months, the world watched as the new Queen grew with child and her husband, the King, fell more and more in love with his wife.
The uprising between the two global factions was at a stalemate, not necessarily a victory, but with the other side crippled enough with the loss of three major players. The world could rest until the next generation was ready to pick up the mantle.
All was finally right in the world. For now…
A lot has happened in the last nine months; the King of San Juan de Baptiste was found dead in his bed and the crown was passed back to its rightful queen.
Unfortunately, she was installed as the most beloved Queen of Isle of Saints in northern Europe, so her brother-in-law was installed as a temporary king until her second born child was ready to rule.
As a most loyal and loving brother, he was perfect for the job.
It would be another four years until his protege would be born.
A boy with his mother’s brown hair and his father’s green eyes.
Taylor would serve the young King in his court until he passed at the old age of 103.
Dahlia and Leo took their relationship public, but not the one with her biological father.
They had a lot of ground to cover, and Rhys did not want her to lose her spot in the line of succession even though she was not royal by blood.
As a protective older brother, he wanted her to be able to live her life free of scandal and the sins of her mother and grandfather.
She and Leo would eventually marry and retire to a country home where they raised many happy children.
Stella and Rhys would be the most loved King and Queen, happily serving their country until he died in his sleep at a very old age, though not quite as old as Taylor.
In their later years, they had yielded their crowns to the current Queen, their eldest child—a daughter born today—who would go on to be the most loved and loyal Queen as her younger brother was beloved in South America.
They were changing the world, protecting the weak, and leading with love and kindness.
The parrots are still in the orangery.
