Chapter Five
“Is everything okay back home?” Massimo asked, looking down at his sister on the cell phone.
“Yeah, everything’s fine. Dad is dealing with everything.
Diego tried to organize a meeting with him, but he told him until you’re home, that’s not going to happen.
” Isabella shrugged. “Other than that, not a lot to report. Because you’re not here, I don’t have to worry about going to any of the parties, so I’m studying. How is married life?”
Massimo smiled.
“Wow, my crazy monster brother has a big smile on his face. Who would have believed it?”
“Shut up.”
“How is Adelina? I got the feeling she’s not used to people caring.”
“She’s not.” He rubbed at his temples. Massimo was not a man used to affection or even caring about a person’s feelings, yet when it came to Adelina, that was exactly how he felt. He cared about her.
She struggled with a lot. She wasn’t used to being embraced, or cared about.
Her family was constantly chasing a title, or reputation, or to work their way up in the Russo Mafia, only no one would give them the time of day.
Diego was going to be their key to a better chapter. He thought it was horseshit.
“I better go,” Isabella said. “I don’t want to keep you on your honeymoon. Have fun, but I’m going to warn you, I think it might get ugly when you get home.”
And with that, she ended the call.
He took a deep breath.
“Is everything okay?” Adelina asked, and he turned to find her in the doorway.
The clothes had all arrived yesterday by the time they got back from the beach. Adelina had put them away as he ordered dinner. She had offered to cook, but he wanted to treat her to a romantic meal.
“Yeah, everything is fine.”
Today, she wore a pair of jeans that were like a second skin to her ass, along with a t-shirt that only seemed to enhance how fucking luscious her tits were. It was impossible to keep his hands to himself. He wanted to touch and explore her, and learn every single inch about her.
She stepped toward him, and he took her hand and pulled her in close. “Have I told you recently how sexy you look?” he asked.
“No.”
“Well, I have to say, I think it is time we did some burning together.”
This made her frown, and he pulled her against his side as he walked out of his office, down the long corridor and toward the French doors that stepped out onto the patio.
The moment he appeared, his men moved away, giving them the space they needed.
He went to the incinerator bin, and opened up the lid.
“You put my clothes inside,” she said.
“Exactly. The only good thing these should do is go up in smoke, and I think it is only fair I let you do the honors.”
She laughed as he handed her the lighter fluid.
“I don’t want to see even a scrap of fabric left.”
She shook her head.
“It’ll be good for you,” he said.
She rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face was magnificent.
He watched as she poured the lighter fluid onto the clothes and he pulled out the matches and handed them to her.
She pulled out a match, closed the box, and struck it along the side, to which it ignited.
She tossed it into the clothes, and it wasn’t long before it caught fire.
Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her away and pressed his chin against her shoulder.
“You don’t have to hide anymore,” he said.
“That’s what they were trying to do, wasn’t it?” she asked.
He kissed her shoulder. “Yeah, and it’s not going to happen again.”
She sighed. “Thank you.”
They watched the clothes go up in flames, and they stood out in the garden until the last of the embers died out.
Taking hold of her hand, they started to walk the gardens.
The sun was still high in the sky, and it was getting uncomfortably hot.
The moment they passed the pool, Massimo couldn’t resist as he grabbed Adelina around the waist, and holding her in his arms, he threw them both into the pool.
She let out a little scream, but he didn’t let her go.
“What are you doing?” she asked, breaking the surface with a giggle.
“It was getting too hot out there. I thought you could use a swim, and I know you can be a pain in the ass, so this way, you can’t argue with me.”
She laughed. “As if I argue with you.”
He pulled her in close and captured her laugh in a kiss. All his life, women were a means to an end. He had never felt anything for them. Yet, he couldn’t get Adelina out of his mind. She was different. She was special.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her body against his, and he reached beneath the water and opened the button of her pants, followed by the zipper. The moment they were open, there was just no way they were staying up, and they were easy to get off her body.
He wanted her completely naked. As for her panties, they didn’t get the luxury of being removed. He tore them right off, and then pressed a palm to her pussy. She broke the kiss and pulled away, making her moan.
“You drive me crazy, baby,” he said.
And then he pressed his lips to her neck, which he knew aroused her. She cried out, arching up against him, thrusting out her chest. She still wore the tight shirt, and he stopped playing with her pussy long enough to get her shirt and bra off.
Swimming together, he pressed her up against the edge of the pool and wrapped her legs around him.
He found her core easily, and slid every inch inside her, going to the hilt within her pussy.
She was always so freaking tight. It didn’t matter how many times he fucked her, she was so tight, so hot, and he couldn’t get enough of her. His cock was so thick.
Staring into her eyes, he held himself deep within her, not wanting to move, not needing to. Just being content to be inside her as deeply as he could.
Neither of them spoke.
Adelina was his. All his.
He was never going to let her go. He had never claimed a woman as his own but when it came to Adelina, he couldn’t not have her.
This was a strange feeling to him. There was no one else.
His father was under the impression that when they got home he would be taking a mistress, but that was something he would never do.
When he married Adelina, he gave himself to her, and that was exactly how it was going to stay. There wouldn’t be any other woman.
Adelina owned him completely. Heart, body, mind, and fucking soul.
He couldn’t look away from her dark brown depths.
It was like it called to a raw part of his very being as he felt her pussy pulse around him.
He was so close to filling her with every intimate encounter, he knew the risk of making her pregnant, but what shocked him the most was, he didn’t give a fuck about that.
Massimo wanted to make her pregnant. He wanted to own every single part of her, and that was another element he had never experienced.
When it came to Adelina, he wanted her to want him with equal passion.
His passion never seemed to disappear. He was consumed by her.
Massimo wasn’t afraid of these feelings, he relished them.
****
“I now wish I had actually learned the constellations,” Adelina said. “That way I could point them all out and impress you.”
She tilted her head back up to look at Massimo. They were laid on a blanket in the middle of the beach. It was pitch-black, apart from the glow of the moon.
“You do impress me.”
“You wouldn’t be impressed by my ability to show off about the names of clustered stars?”
“Not at all. That’s boring.”
She laughed. Nibbling the corner of her bottom lip, she couldn’t help but wonder how she impressed him.
“Ask me,” he said.
She quickly looked at him, to find one brow raised up.
“You know you want to,” he said.
She rolled her eyes.
“Okay, fine, uh, how do I impress you?”
“You want to know?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“You’re not afraid of me.”
This made her frown. “Am I the only one?”
“Yes and no. Look, it’s not a big thing, and I know you were quite young when you first talked to me, but that actually meant a lot.”
“You’re talking about that party, where so many women had approached you, and some left crying?” she asked.
“That’s the one.”
“I always wondered what you said to them.”
“I told them to fuck off.”
She opened her mouth, a little shocked. “You did?”
“Yep. There was no point in letting them all fawn over me, and it was pissing me off. They were only interested in trying to earn my attention. They wanted to be linked to the Salvatore name.”
“And that bothers you?”
“I’m not after a title chaser.”
She frowned. “But my parents—”
“Were sending you to a man we both know would have killed you.”
She nodded. “Yeah, I was shocked by their announcement. When I questioned it, do you know what I got?”
“What?”
“A slap to the face. My dad told me I was an ungrateful bitch. I was sent to my room for three days. I’m still shocked they remembered to feed me.” She shrugged.
“Did you cry?”
“Nah, it wasn’t the first time my dad had hit me, you know.” She sighed. “So, how did that impress you?” There was no point in dwelling on what happened in the past. All they had was their future.
“You came toward me, and you were not blushing. You were not even giggling, or attempting to win me over. You literally talked to me. There was no agenda with you.”
“There was,” Adelina said.
Now both of his brows were raised.
She couldn’t help but laugh. “I was bored as well, and I had watched you stand in the same spot for I think an hour, as these women, one by one, came to you. Even the men, and I’m pretty sure they left crying as well.”
“I hate those fucking functions,” he said.
“Agreed, but if you hate them so much, why do you still go?” she asked.
“I’ve got to represent my family and with my dad’s current situation, it is left to me.”
“I never met him,” Adelina said.
“He has a couple of scars on his face, and it bothers him. He used to be known as one of the most handsome men in the Russo Mafia. There were rumors that he could get any enemy to talk, man or woman, by just being there. He believes without his looks, they would turn on him.”
“Wow, I guess he’s not wrong. They are vultures when they start. I thought he might not have agreed to the wedding.”
“He didn’t agree. He is not a big fan of your parents, and to be honest, neither am I, but I was not going to attend your funeral. Your parents are pieces of work.”
She smiled. “True.”
“My father will warm up to you. That, I guarantee.”
“How?”
“I did, and I know what I’m talking about.”
“I’m quite nervous to meet him.” It wouldn’t be long before their honeymoon was over and they were back to reality. Back to the judgement.
She had loved getting away from home and the constant stress of putting on some kind of facade.
She had a horrible feeling when they got home, it would get worse, because she was no longer a Ferri.
She was now a Salvatore, and more gazes would be on her.
They were probably hoping she would mess up to give Massimo a reason to kill her.
“You’re frowning,” he said, running a single finger between her brows.
“Sorry.”
“Tell me what you’re thinking.”
“Just about life when we get home, and people expecting me to make mistakes. It’s quite daunting.”
“Ignore the bullshit. People will say what they want, but that doesn’t mean anything.”
“I’m your wife now,” she said.
“I know, but it’s not going to change anything. We’ll go to parties together, and instead of me looking for you, we’ll arrive together and stand together.”
She frowned. “You looked for me?” She had no idea, and she liked it a lot.
“Yeah, I looked for you. The only reason I wanted to attend those parties was a chance to see you and your genuine smiling face.”
She loved this. “Thank you.”
He laughed. “There is no need to thank me. In fact, I should be the one thanking you for making all the parties bearable.” He cupped her cheek. “You’re the only reason I actually turned up, and to see what ugly ass outfit you’d be wearing.”
She groaned. “I will have to wear ugly ass outfits when we do go.”
“No, you won’t. They’re all gone. I’ve already called Isabella with instructions, and your wardrobe back home has been revamped and refreshed.”
“But my parents—”
“Will not say a fucking word, and if they do, they will answer to me. They gave you to me, and they are not going to take you back. You’re mine, Adelina, make no mistake about it.”
She was not going to complain, especially as he leaned down and took her lips in a searing kiss.
There was no time to even be angry about it, because the truth was, she wasn’t. She loved this man, and knowing he felt the same way about her meant everything.
