Chapter 59
Liv:
“I’m coming over.”
Morella:
“Kk”
Idrop my phone into the back pocket of my jeans and grab a jacket before heading out the front door.
I decide to walk to Morella’s because I feel like my mind needs the fresh air.
Morella knows something happened but she hasn’t been clued in to what exactly happened yet.
Since it’s been a week I feel like it’s about time I told her.
The walk will help me gather my thoughts.
I ring the doorbell and stick my hand back in my jacket pocket. It’s a lot colder than I thought it was going to be. Walking may not have been the best idea. I’m freezing. The door opens and suddenly I forget how cold I am.
Rafe is staring at me, hanging on the door with one arm.
“Yeah?” He asks. It feels like that first day all over again and I shrink in on myself.
“I’m here to see Morella.” I say quietly.
“Well, she's not here.” He barks back.
She’s not here? I think back to our text… Maybe she’s just running a little behind. “Ok. I’ll come back later.”
“Hey pretty girl!” Archer’s voice is prevalent behind Rafe.
Rafe sighs obnoxiously and pushes himself off the door to turn and look at his friend.
“You don’t have to go. You can come hang with us.” Archer says, pushing past Rafe and pulling me inside. “It’s freezing out there. I don’t know why he would make you stand out there like that.”
A few minutes later we’re all in the den and the vibe is heavy. I can tell Rafe does not want me here.
“Seriously, I can go wait in Morella's room. Rafe looks like he's going to have an aneurysm.” I say.
“Pfft.” Silas sits up and waves off Rafe. “Don’t pay any attention to him.”
He comes and sits next to me on the couch and throws his arm around my shoulders.
“Jesus, you’re still that cold?” He asks, exaggerated terror on his face. Then he grins. “I know what will warm you up.” He leans in and places a soft kiss on my lips. He’s so warm. I smile softly into his mouth and he smiles back. “Oh yeah baby.”
I laugh and try to pull away but instead he pulls me onto his lap, my knees straddling him, he kisses me again.
The moment goes from sweet to hot in an instant.
Silas’ mouth trails down my jaw, to my neck and I steal a glance at Archer, who’s content in his corner of the couch just watching, a grin plastered on his beautiful face.
My breath catches at what I see past him. Rafe. In his usual chair. Watching, intently. I place a hand on Silas’ chest and push him away. Feeling exposed and vulnerable.
“Princess…” Silas’ fingers gently brush my chin and he turns my head to look at him. “I promise you, he wants to watch.” He whispers seductively.
He leans back in and places a kiss on my collarbone. As hot as my blood is running right now, I’m still nervous. That’s when Archer leans over and unzips my jacket and helps me take it off. Discarding it on the floor in front of the couch. He leans back into his arm rest and looks over at Rafe.
His eyes are still glued to me. He looks like he could destroy an entire city.
“Liv.” Archer's commanding voice brings my attention to him. He’s not grinning or smiling. His face is serious. “Pay attention to Silas.” He commands.
I swallow rough and try to put Rafe at the back of my mind. I try to tell myself if he doesn’t want to be in the room he will leave.
