Chapter 7

Charlotte floated in the loose, sweet wreckage of her body.

Every muscle had gone soft, limbs heavy against the cushions, the last fine tremors still flickering through her thighs.

Her chest rose and fell in long, lazy pulls of air.

She felt dazed in the best way, skin humming everywhere Taylor had touched her.

Taylor still hovered between her legs, mouth glossy, eyes dark when she lifted her head. Charlotte reached down without thinking, fingers closing around Taylor’s wrist, and tugged. Taylor came willingly, sliding up the length of Charlotte’s body until her weight settled full and warm on top of her.

Their legs tangled. Charlotte’s calf hooked over the back of Taylor’s knee; Taylor’s thigh slipped between hers.

Skin met skin in lazy glides—Charlotte’s palm tracing the dip of Taylor’s spine, Taylor’s fingertips drawing slow circles along Charlotte’s ribs.

Charlotte tipped her chin up and caught Taylor’s mouth.

The kiss started soft, almost sleepy. Just lips brushing, tasting a hint of wine and Charlotte’s own release still clinging there.

Charlotte made a quiet sound into it, something half pleasure and half contentment, and let her free hand drift up into Taylor’s hair.

The strands slid cool between her fingers.

She kept the kiss unhurried at first, tasting the plush give of Taylor’s lower lip, the faint catch of breath every time Charlotte deepened the pressure a fraction.

But the longer they stayed locked together the hungrier it grew.

Charlotte parted her lips wider, tongue sliding in to stroke along Taylor’s.

Heat kindled low in her belly all over again, slower this time, less frantic.

She felt the solid press of Taylor’s breasts against her own, nipples still tight, and rolled her hips once just to feel the answering shift of Taylor’s weight.

Awareness cut through the haze like a clean blade.

She had come twice—hard, shaking, easier than she had in years—and Taylor hadn’t come at all.

The knowledge settled warm and insistent under Charlotte’s sternum.

She wanted to give that back. Wanted to feel Taylor fall apart under her mouth the way she just had.

Charlotte shifted, using the leverage of their tangled legs to roll them.

The couch was long enough that Taylor landed on her back without either of them tumbling off the edge.

Charlotte followed, rising onto her elbows above her, then lowering until their mouths met again in a deeper, wetter kiss.

Taylor’s hands slid up Charlotte’s arms, fingers flexing against bare skin.

“My turn,” Charlotte murmured against her lips, voice still rough. “I want to make you feel so good.”

She didn’t wait for an answer. She kissed the corner of Taylor’s mouth, then her jaw, then lower, trailing open-mouthed heat along the side of her throat.

The flutter of Taylor’s pulse jumped under her tongue.

Charlotte lingered there a moment longer, tasting salt on Taylor’s skin, before she kept going.

Taylor’s breasts rose beneath her. Charlotte cupped one, her thumb sweeping across the stiffened peak, and felt Taylor’s breath hitch.

She lowered her head and took the nipple into her mouth.

Soft at first—just the warm flat of her tongue circling—then firmer, drawing the peak between her lips and sucking in slow, rhythmic pulls.

Taylor arched up into it, a low sound vibrating through her chest and straight into Charlotte’s mouth.

Charlotte switched sides, giving the other breast the same patient attention, scraping her teeth lightly across the tip before soothing it with her tongue. She could feel how close Taylor already was, the tiny shudders running through her ribs every time Charlotte suctioned deeper.

She stayed longer than she needed to. Mapping every reaction. Memorizing the exact pressure that made Taylor’s fingers tighten in her hair. When she finally lifted her head the nipples shone wet and flushed darker, and Taylor’s eyes had gone half-lidded.

Charlotte kissed lower. Across the shallow valley between Taylor’s breasts, down the center of her sternum.

The skin of Taylor’s stomach was smoother, warmer, pulling taut under Charlotte’s mouth as she licked a slow stripe from navel to the soft hollow of her hip.

She felt the muscles beneath her skin jump.

Felt Taylor’s legs fall open wider without being asked.

Charlotte braced her hands on either side of Taylor’s waist and took her time, dragging open kisses along her hipbone, over her lower stomach.

Taylor’s breathing had turned shallow. Her hips shifted restlessly against the cushions. Charlotte pressed one palm flat to the lower curve of Taylor’s belly to hold her steady and dipped lower still.

The first drag of her tongue through Taylor’s folds ripped a broken sound from Taylor’s throat. Charlotte sank into the wet heat of her, rich and slick and so ready it made her own pulse kick hard between her legs. She licked again, slower, teasing her with light caresses.

By the time she sealed her mouth over Taylor’s clit and flicked the tip of her tongue across it in a single teasing pass, Taylor’s thighs were already trembling.

Her whole body had drawn tight as a bowstring, hips stuttering upward, breath coming in short, desperate pulls. Seconds. She was only seconds away.

Charlotte curled her fingers against Taylor’s hips, holding her steady as she took her apart with her mouth.

The taste of her—musky and sweet—flooded Charlotte’s senses, drowning out everything but the ragged sounds Taylor made above her.

Every flick of her tongue drew another gasp, another jerk of Taylor’s body.

She could feel the tension coiling tighter, Taylor’s thighs pressing against her shoulders, the desperate roll of her hips chasing Charlotte’s mouth.

She flattened her tongue and dragged it slow and firm over Taylor’s clit, relishing the way Taylor’s breath hitched, the way her fingers twisted in Charlotte’s hair—not pulling, just clinging, like she was afraid she might dissolve if she let go.

Charlotte hummed against her, the vibration wringing a choked moan from Taylor’s throat.

Then Taylor arched, her back bowing off the couch as she came with a sharp cry.

Charlotte kept her mouth on her, gentling the pressure but not stopping, drawing out the pleasure until Taylor whimpered and tugged weakly at her hair.

Only then did Charlotte lift her head, pressing a final kiss to the inside of Taylor’s thigh before easing back.

Taylor lay sprawled beneath her, chest rising and falling in uneven bursts, her skin flushed from collarbone to forehead. Her lips were parted, her eyelids heavy, her hair a wild tangle against the cushions. She looked wrecked. Beautiful.

Charlotte crawled up her body, settling into the warm space between Taylor’s legs, her own pulse still thrumming in her veins.

Taylor’s arms lifted weakly, wrapping around Charlotte’s shoulders as she pulled her down into a slow, deep kiss.

Charlotte could taste herself on Taylor’s tongue, and the thought sent a fresh curl of heat through her.

Taylor broke the kiss first, her breath still unsteady. “Jesus,” she murmured, her voice rough.

Charlotte smiled against her cheek, pressing a kiss there before shifting to curl against Taylor’s side. Their legs tangled together, skin still damp with sweat, the air between them thick with the scent of sex and salt.

Taylor exhaled a soft laugh, her fingers tracing idle circles on Charlotte’s bare shoulder. “I was gonna suggest moving to the bedroom, but I’m not sure I’m able.” Her voice was still thick, her limbs loose and heavy against the cushions.

Charlotte leaned in, brushing her lips against Taylor’s in a slow, indulgent kiss.

Her fingertips trailed down Taylor’s stomach, skimming over the damp heat of her skin, the faint tremors still lingering there.

“If this is what we’re like on a couch,” she murmured against Taylor’s mouth, “I’m curious to see what would happen if we had a whole bed to work with. ”

Taylor’s lips curved into a smile. She shifted, rolling onto her side to face Charlotte fully, her fingers catching in Charlotte’s hair. “Suddenly I’m motivated,” she admitted with a smirk.

They untangled themselves, limbs reluctant to part even for the promise of more space.

Taylor stood first, her body still flushed, her movements languid as she reached for Charlotte’s hand.

Charlotte let herself be pulled up, her pulse kicking at the sight of Taylor’s bare skin in the dim light, the way her hips swayed slightly as she led them toward the bedroom.

Charlotte followed, her breath shallow, her skin humming with the aftershocks of pleasure and the anticipation of more.

She felt reckless in a way she hadn’t in years—maybe ever.

The thought flickered through her mind, half-disbelieving: This is me.

The woman who never broke rules, who never stepped out of line, who had spent twenty years in careful control—now trailing after a confident and sexy woman, drunk on the way Taylor’s fingers laced through hers, on the promise of a bed and hours left in the night.

Taylor glanced back at her as they crossed the threshold, her eyes dark, her smile slow. The bedroom was small, the bed made, the air warm. Taylor tugged her forward, and Charlotte went willingly, already reaching for her.
