Chapter Eight
Viktor
I am lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. I want to go over there again and see her, but Chris was being all lovey and shit. He annoys me. I hope that her evening has been peaceful at least, even if he is a moron.
There is a knock at my door before Carlo walks in. “What?” I ask.
“Someone is at the gate. I can’t see who it is, and they aren’t answering the intercom. What do you want me to do?” Carlo asks.
“Fuck it. Let them in and see what happens,” I say. “Let me get dressed, and I’ll be down.”
Carlo walks out, but I don’t get up right away. I picture Ada’s smiling face for a moment longer before lazily getting up. Why can’t it be morning already?
