Chapter Thirty-Five
Garett
Garett woke early on Saturday morning, the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains. He glanced over at Torin, who was still asleep, his dark hair tousled and his face relaxed. Garett’s chest warmed at the sight, a quiet sense of contentment settling over him. Today was going to be a good day. He had planned a hike to show Torin more of Montana, to let him experience the beauty of the land that Garett loved so much. He packed two backpacks with food, water, and a few essentials, his movements careful so as not to wake Torin.
By the time Torin stirred, Garett had breakfast ready—scrambled eggs, toast, and a pot of strong coffee. Torin padded into the kitchen, still rubbing sleep from his eyes, and Garett couldn’t help but smile. “Morning,” he said, his voice warm. “Ready for an adventure?”
Torin grinned, his eyes lighting up. “Always.”
They gulped their food, the excitement of the day ahead making them both eager to get going. As they stepped outside, the crisp morning air filled their lungs, and Garett felt energetic. The sky was a brilliant blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds, and the mountains in the distance stood tall and majestic, their peaks dusted with snow. The trail ahead wound through rolling hills and dense forests, the scent of pine and earth filling the air.
As they walked, Garett pointed out landmarks and shared stories about the land—how he’d explored these trails as a kid, how the seasons changed the landscape, how the wildlife thrived in the untouched wilderness. Torin listened intently, his eyes wide with wonder, and Garett felt a swell of pride. He loved seeing Montana through Torin’s eyes, loved the way Torin seemed to soak up every detail.
After a while, they reached the stables, where Garett had arranged for two horses to be ready for them. Torin’s face lit up at the sight of the animals, and Garett couldn’t help but chuckle. “Ever ridden before?” he asked, though he already knew the answer.
“Not since those pony rides Liam took me to,” Torin admitted, his cheeks flushing. “But I’ve always wanted to.”
Garett helped him mount, his hands lingering on Torin’s waist longer than necessary, just to see the way Torin’s breath hitched. “Relax,” Garett said, his voice low and teasing. “I’ve got you.”
“Garett, the ponies rode in a circle and a man held on to the horse too.”
Garett started laughing.
They set off at a slow pace, the horses’ hooves crunching against the gravel path. The scenery was breathtaking—rolling meadows dotted with wildflowers, towering pines that stretched toward the sky, and the occasional glimpse of a deer or rabbit darting through the underbrush. Torin kept turning to Garett, his eyes shining with excitement, and Garett felt his chest tighten with affection.
“This is amazing,” Torin said, his voice filled with awe. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Garett smiled, his heart swelling with pride. “Montana has a way of getting under your skin,” he said. “Once you’ve experienced it, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else.”
Torin glanced at him, a playful glint in his eye. “Is that why you brought me out here? To make sure I never want to leave?”
Garett laughed, the sound echoing through the quiet forest. “Maybe. Is it working?”
Torin’s grin was answer enough.
They rode for a while longer, the conversation flowing easily between them. Torin asked questions about the land, the wildlife, and Garett’s life here. There was something about Torin—his curiosity, his warmth, his genuine interest—that made Garett want to share every part of himself.
Eventually, they reached a clearing with a stunning view of the valley below. Garett helped Torin dismount, their hands brushing in a way that sent a spark through him. They spread out a blanket and unpacked the food, the simple act of sharing a meal in such a beautiful setting feeling intimate and special.
As they ate, Torin’s excitement was intense. “So,” he said, his voice teasing, “when do I get my first lesson?”
Garett raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. “Eager, are we?”
Torin’s cheeks flushed, but he didn’t back down. “Maybe. I just…I want to do this right. For you.”
Garett’s chest tightened at the words, his heart swelling with a mix of affection and desire. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from Torin’s face. “You don’t have to prove anything to me, Torin. This is about us—about finding what works for both of us.”
“I know. But I still want to learn all I can. I want to be good for you.”
Garett’s breath caught at the sincerity in Torin’s voice. He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Torin’s lips. “You already are,” he murmured. “But if you’re ready, we can start with the basics of a beginner’s first scene when we get back.”
Torin’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. “I’m ready.”
Garett smiled, his heart full. He didn’t know what the future held, but in that moment, with Torin by his side and the beauty of Montana stretching out before them, he felt like he had everything he needed. And for the first time in a long time, he allowed himself to believe that maybe, just maybe, he deserved it.
Later in the day, they returned home. First, Garett made them dinner with Torin’s help. They relaxed in the living room and caught the news.
“When are we going to practice?” Torin asked.
“We can go up to the room now.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Garett followed Torin to the playroom. He’d had some Doms bring over and put together some BDSM furniture and other items Garett had stored at Cowpokes while they were hiking and riding horses. Torin would be so surprised.
The moment they stepped into the playroom, Torin’s eyes widened with amazement. “Master Garett, how did all these things get into this room? Last night it didn’t have half of these things!” Torin exclaimed, his voice filled with wonder.
Garett couldn’t help but laugh at Torin’s reaction. “Well, the Cowpokes’ Doms, it seems they added more furniture and toys while we were out,” he explained, a broad smile spreading across his face.
Torin walked around the room, taking in all the new furniture. “This is incredible! They really went all out.”
Garett nodded, feeling grateful for his friends’ thoughtful gesture. “Yeah, they sure did. I guess they wanted to give us a little surprise to come home to for your first training lesson. I’m glad you like it.”
Torin turned to Garett, his eyes still wide with excitement. “Like it? I love it! This is the best surprise ever. I can’t wait to try out everything.”
Garett couldn’t agree more. Seeing Torin’s joy made the entire experience even more special. “I’m glad you think so, Torin. Our friends really know how to make us smile, don’t they?”
“They sure do,” Torin replied, his voice full of appreciation. “This is a day I’ll never forget.”
The shelves filled with many toys covered one wall. Glass doors encased each shelf and were locked with a padlock. Immediately, Torin’s attention went to the doghouse against the wall. He did a double take. It had a sign on it, which read Pup Torin. On the other side of the room was an enormous cage. The usual dungeon furniture was scattered around the room. Garett watched how Torin’s eyes caught the spanking bench and the red St. Andrew’s cross built to the wall. Across the room stood a swing. The setup of the room was like the individual rooms at Cowpokes. He twirled around and gasped at the hooks on the wall, displaying every spanking implement possible.
The Doms at Cowpokes were eager for Garett to finally find a potential sub and they made sure he had everything. Their love for him was unbelievable.
