2. Marcel White #3
“And what the fuck that gotta do with me? Call her fucking drunk ass mother. Matter fact, don’t call me at all.” I removed the phone from my ear, ending the call.
“Bitch is trippin’, that ain’t my girl and she probably ain’t my baby mama either,” I mumbled to myself on the way to the car.
Once I got to Koi’s truck, I unlocked the door, sliding into the driver’s seat. With my phone attached to her phone stand, I tapped on her name after closing the door. It rang out. Pissed, I called her again.
“What do you want?” Sicily’s voice boomed through the speakers.
“Let me speak to my woman,” I demanded with an attitude.
“No,” she snapped. “Leave her alone.”
“Yo on the real, you need to mind your business. Put your sister on the phone and stop acting like you, her bodyguard.” I was over her family chiming in on our relationship. The shuffling on the other end had me seeing red. I calmed down when I heard her voice.
“Go home, Marcel. I don’t want to talk to you.”
“How mature is that, Koi? If we are in a relationship, why am I the only one trying to talk?” She needed to know I wasn’t in the mood to play the games. I needed to talk to her before word got back to her.
“A relationship? The same relationship you ruined years ago when you stuck, ya’ dick in another bitch. That relationship! Huh?” She was now yelling into the line. “Cus tell me where I got you fucked up at?”
By now I was fuming, my chest was poked out, and my nose flared. “Koi come down here and talk to me like my woman, why you hiding?”
“Hiding? Marcel, you cheat left and right, and you want to talk! Do you think I’m stupid? No. I’m tired of the shit.”
“I hear you, and I’m here to tell you I apologize, ma. I fucked up more than once, but I’m telling you, I’m all for you.” I had to bank on Koi accepting my fuck ups and moving on before this situation with this baby escalated.
“What do you want from me? To go crazy? Is that it, Marcel, huh? I can’t just love you in peace, right?” She began yelling again.
I heard a female in the background saying for her to hang up the phone, but Koi didn’t budge. That alone told me that I hadn’t fully lost her.
“Come talk to me, ma.” I softened my tone.
“Marcel,” her tone changed also. “I-” shuffling on her end could be heard. “What? What is going on?” I heard Koi asking someone. “Marcel, I gotta go.” The call dropped.
I hit the steering wheel in frustration.
The unknown was pissing me off. Before I drove off defeated, I spotted Koi’s mother and stepfather running out of the building in the direction of the park.
I cut the ignition off, hopped out, and walked around the truck when Koi was coming out of the building, her bag slung over her shoulder.
“Take me to the hospital. It’s Rika!” I didn’t know how to react. There was no way I was going in that hospital with Koi. All I could see was the drama unfolding right in front of my eyes without proof.
“Koi, go home, I will update you!” Her mother shouted. She stomped her feet, puffed out her cheeks, and walked swiftly to the car.
“You’re lucky, take me home, asshole.” The breath I didn’t know I was holding was released. “And don’t say shit to me.” She pulled her door closed before I could close it.
“I gotta get this shit fixed,” I said to myself, jogging around to the driver’s side of the car.
Koi went straight to the master bathroom, slamming and locking the door behind her.
Not sure how to proceed, I grabbed a bottle from the bar and a cup, then sat in the living room.
Basketball showed on the television, but my mind was so far gone that I couldn’t even focus on the highlights from the game the night before.
My phone hadn’t rung since I had told off Stacey, but I knew it was only a matter of time before it would start buzzing with the bullshit.
Curious, I wanted to see what the fuck was going on with Rika, but that shit was messy as hell.
I turned the bottle up to my lips, dismissing the glass I had set on the table.
“You act like you the one who getting fucked over.” She sucked her teeth.
“Just like a guilty ass nigga. I’m telling you now, Marcel, if you bring me any drama or baggage, I’m going to kill you and that bitch!
” She cut her eyes at me. The black silk robe against her caramel complexion made my dick rise.
Koi was more than enough in the bedroom, yet I always found myself fucking her over, and while I didn’t have a definite answer.
I continued to follow my dick and not my head.
“Can I talk, or am I supposed to still stay quiet?”
“Sleep in the other bedroom. I can’t even look at your ashy black ass.”
“You dragged it, I ain’t ashy, shit, I used that coconut oil you swear by so…
” my voice trailed off as she went back to the room, slamming the door harder than it needed to be.
“What does she want?” I questioned. “A vacation? Maybe a vacation will fix this rift in our relationship.” I went back and forth with myself until I lay back on the sofa, bottle tucked by my side.
