11. Marcel #3

As much as I wanted to see Rika get her ass beat, I didn’t have time for the drama. I pushed Rika along. They could have their day some other time. Rika needed to get home to our son so I could go get my woman back.

If she saw that I wasn’t serious about Rika, then maybe Koi would come back home. The other day when she said she wasn’t coming home and had moved, I did some investigating. I learned she moved into a nice apartment in the city.

Jealousy seeped in. Koi wasn’t letting this breakup stop her. It was as if she put her foot on the gas and said “go,” while I was here finding random gray hairs in my head.

“You better have that same energy when your ex steps to me too. I am now your baby mama. That means I come before every bitch,” she spat with venom. It was the silly shit like this that had me kicking myself for not being smarter with my choices.

“Bitch, you wish. Take the baby that you robbed me for and leave me and mine the fuck alone.”

“That’s cute. I robbed you of sperm.” She walked slowly out of the hospital. If she was Koi, I would have had the car waiting for her, but since she wasn’t, she was gonna walk the few blocks to her building.

Immediately regretting it, Rika bitched and complained all the way across the street. Her voice was annoying me when the next thing I knew, she had dropped.

“You thought I was gonna let you live?” Koi stood over Rika with a balled up fist. Rika struggled to get up from the ground.

“Really, Koi!” She screamed out. “You couldn’t let me heal?”

“Fucking healing!” Koi knelt down punching her once more in her side.

“Argh, okay! You can have him!”

“Koi.” Her mother grabbed her just as police officers along with a small crowd formed.

“Fuck that! She wanted the nigga and the baby…well, take the ass whopping!” She tried to break free of her mother when I picked her up.

Koi was always easy to pick up, even when she was on the verge of blowing up.

I missed feeling her in my arms, so given the opportunity, I took advantage.

“Get off of me!” She pushed and kicked her feet.

“They’re gonna take you away, Koi,” I preached to her.

“Officers, I want her locked up. She just attacked me,” Koi’s face turned a shade of red as she puffed out a breath.

“She did not attack you. You started this shit,” I chimed in.

“Let her go, sir,” the cops demanded. “We need to speak to her.”

“Arrest her too then! I want to press charges as well.” Koi said as soon as I put her down on the ground.

“For what?” Rika yelled out. Koi held out her hands to be cuffed with a smirk on her face.

“She hit me.” Koi lied.

“No, no, I did not,” Rika stuttered when the officers lifted her up to get cuffed. “She’s lying,” she cried. “Marcel, tell them.” I lifted my hands in the air. If this was how Koi wanted to play it, then so be it. Rika brought it on herself.

“Until we can clear up the allegations, both will be arrested.”

“Officer, forget it. I don’t want to press charges. I have to go home to my son, please.” Her lips trembled. “Can I just go home if I drop the charges?”

“Ma’am,” the officer with Koi asked. “Do you want to still press charges?”

“Fuck it. As long as she leaves me alone. I am an accountant, and I do not have time for this ghetto mess.” She put on a show.

“I am better than this.” She let a lone tear fall.

“And she just keeps pushing me. One day I’m going to snap!

” I had to give it to Koi, them cops were eating up her sob story.

“I understand. She isn’t worth it. Walk away.” The officer removed the cuffs, looking at her a little too hard. My jaw clenched.

“I know, but…” she looked down. “But it’s so hard to ignore someone who just keeps coming to me, looking for drama. Do you see her?” She pointed to Rika, who was standing there looking dumbfounded, holding her jaw.

“Can you walk me to my car?” Koi batted her lashes, and I lost it.

“What the fuck, Koi?” Her mother and now her sister were in the background laughing.

“Sir, if you come any closer, I will have to tase you. Let this young lady leave.” Koi hugged her body as if she was scared.

“I’m in the Audi right there.” She pointed to her truck I had brought.

“With a truck like that you shouldn’t even be over here. Stay away from here, miss.” The cop flirted back. My blood boiled as I watched the exchange.

“I’ll make sure of it after today.” He walked her to her car, opening the door for her, closing it as Koi gave him one last look. She drove off without a second glance in my direction.

Vexed, I turned to Rika, who was still holding her face. “You let that bitch hit me! Are you crazy?”

“The night I fucked your stupid ass, I knew I was crazy. Get to the fucking house before someone else feel the need to hit you.”

“You heard your baby daddy,” Sicily chimed in. “Go on and move fast.”

The worst mistake of my life was lying down with Rika. This family was going to give me hell for the rest of my life, and I couldn’t even blame them.

Koi: And this incident is the reason why I’m going home to my new dude. He would never. God bless.

I stopped short, rereading her text, stuck.

“Rika, hurry your ass up. I got somewhere to be.”
