2. Volt #3

But maybe, please, God, Wallace would be different?

“Thank you, creampuff,” Volt made himself say. “But I still need to know how you feel.”

“Uh…” Wallace squeezed his eyes shut. “I won’t lie and say that I’m excited about some aspects of your job.

But, I guess I don’t have to like it? I know it’s not the same.

It’s work. But I was your work before?” He sighed.

“I feel kind of sick when I think about you treating me like a client, even though I was a client, and I know that’s not fair.

So I want to support you, but I… I have to be honest and say that it makes me a little bit uncomfortable. But I’ll work on it. I will!”

Volt’s heart was melting. Wallace was doing everything in his power to support Volt and his career.

And that, strangely, made Volt want to give his boyfriend what he wanted. To dedicate himself to their relationship exclusively. It wasn’t like he wanted anybody else the way he wanted Wallace, and he hadn’t for a long time.

In fact, he hadn’t taken any clients in the week since Wallace had agreed on the date, too distracted and in his own head to even think about being intimate with anyone else.

But that was just a temporary thing. Sex was still his job. A huge part of his identity.

Could he really give it all up for one man?

“I…” he started, then realized he had no idea what to say.

“Uh, thank you. Thank you for supporting me and for telling me how you feel.” He swallowed unnecessarily.

He never needed to swallow, but his throat felt thick.

“I want you to know that I don’t think of you as a client.

I haven’t for a long time. You’re my boyfriend.

But for the rest… I guess I wish it didn’t upset you, but yeah.

It’s still my job. I guess I need some time to think about it. ”

Wallace nodded. “I’m not sure what there is to think about. You said it’s your career, and I respect that. I won’t ask you to change.” He gave a tremulous smile. He was supporting Volt. Listening. Working things out.

Proving, again and again, how amazing he was.

Which gave Volt the space to share what he was turning over in his mind.

“I’ve thought a lot about what it means to be designed as a sexbot.

At first, I kind of assumed that I loved sex because I was programmed for it.

Unlike fixing HVAC systems, or repairing bots like my amazing boyfriend can do, sex is my area of expertise.

“And, of course, it’s fun. It feels good. I like making other people feel happy and relaxed, and sex is good for that. But Angel’s been showing me over the years that just because I was designed for sex doesn’t mean it has to be what I do. He doesn’t take clients at all.”

Wallace jerked his head up. “He doesn’t?”

“Nope. Not in all the time I’ve known him. He doesn’t date either, though he says he’s not asexual or aromantic. I don’t know his full story, because some of it’s not my business, but I think he’s been celibate for decades.”

“Wow. That’s, uh…”

“Yeah, I don’t know how he does it,” Volt admitted. He caught a hint of sadness around his upbeat best friend sometimes. “I don’t think I could go even a few weeks. I, uh, don’t know if it’s my sexbot coding or just me, but I have a high libido. I really like sex.”

“So I might not be enough for you, anyway.” Wallace said it like a statement, not even a question.

Volt let that situation play out in his mind. If Wallace were with him a few days a week, would that be enough?

He tightened his grip on those luscious thighs and cuddly back. No, he was far too greedy for a few days a week to be enough.

But the difference, he’d learned this past week, wasn’t about the sex. He’d needed those daily texts from his baby like he needed to charge up every night. He’d been starving without them.

“You would be enough,” he told Wallace, his voice a growl. But would he?

“Really?” Wallace asked, echoing Volt’s concerns.

Volt didn’t know. Sex was a part of who he was. He was sure his confusion was reflected on his face. “I think?” He’d never gone that long without it before.

Wallace turned to fully face him, looking so sweet and nervous.

“It doesn’t matter, though, because I’m not asking you to stop.

Would it be weird if we didn’t talk about your work?

Or, I mean, the details? Or, never mind.

I can get over it. I know you have other priorities.

Prism needs the income and it’s, uh, your career. I don’t want to bother you.”

“You’re never a bother,” Volt replied. His heart hurt every time Wallace said something like that. As if his wants and needs were a bother. He hated how his adorable boyfriend just assumed that he wouldn’t be Volt’s priority.

And he wanted Wallace to be his only priority. But was he ready for that? Could he put all of his hopes and dreams into one person, only to have them dashed again?

His mind spun off in a dozen different subroutines, each attacking his problems, but not coming up with any answers.

He didn’t like disappointing Wallace. He didn’t want to make his sweet boy, who’d never been first in anything, think he wasn’t important.

But would Wallace truly be enough to fulfill his libido?

And who would he be if he wasn’t a sexbot?

“Volt?” Wallace asked.

Hearing his name—not the loving Daddy he was used to—jerked him out of his circling thoughts and the stack overflow errors they were producing. He’d been glitching.

Too many emotions. Too many possibilities.

“I’m sorry, baby boy. I was just doing a lot of thinking. I appreciate everything that you’re saying. That you’re being honest with me.” He dropped a kiss on Wallace’s forehead.

Wallace drew in a breath, looking Volt in the eye, and then looking guiltily away at the last second.

“I guess what I’d l-l-like to ask is… I’m pretty sure I can handle knowing that you’re having sex with other people, but are y-y-you D-D-Daddying them?

” Wallace’s lip was wobbling, like he was near tears.

Oh, his sweet, sweet, darling boy.

Did this mean that Wallace wanted all of their kink to continue? Not just in the bedroom?
