11. Volt #3
There were seven E’s—emotions, existential questions, ethics, explanations, experiences, engagement, and empathy—that were used to test for sentience when someone registered as a spark, but Volt didn’t think that any of them covered what he was experiencing.
So you do it too? He questioned.
Yeah. I kept going up to Magnolia’s room when she was in the hospital and not realizing it until I was there.
Volt felt a pang. He would miss Magnolia deeply when she finally passed, but he knew that Angel would be devastated. That makes sense. Anything else? This felt like something much bigger.
When I caught the spark, I’d already recorded hundreds of hours of footage of a certain person before I realized I was doing it.
Volt had definitely recorded Wallace before they were dating, but he’d known he was doing it. And now he was dying to know who that person was for Angel.
Angel had always been tight-lipped about his past, and this was the closest that Volt had ever gotten to hearing about it. Who was that person? Someone who’d helped him catch the spark, maybe, like Bobby had for Volt?
He was tempted to ask about it, but he didn’t want to push too hard. If Angel had once had a special someone and lost them, maybe that would explain the melancholy air that seemed to cling to him when Volt caught him unawares.
But then, if Angel wanted him to know about it, he would have shared already, right?
And Volt had his own mystery to figure out.
Why do you ask? Angel prompted, echoing his own thoughts.
Just something I realized. It felt a little too personal to share yet. At least with anyone other than Wallace.
Angel sent him a soft buzz of affection and cut the connection.
“Were you just looking something up?” Wallace asked.
Volt hadn’t realized that his distraction was so visible.
It had only been a few seconds, but Wallace always seemed to notice it immediately.
“I was reviewing recordings of our interactions and talking with Angel. Apparently it’s not unusual for sparks to do things without realizing it.
I, uh, I just can’t explain it to myself.
” It was worrying him more than he’d expected.
“I didn’t mean to upset you, Daddy,” Wallace said, nuzzling under his chin. “We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. I just wanted to understand. And, um, I can learn new things if you want me to.”
Volt squeezed Wallace close. How was he always so perfect? Volt always felt that he, as the Daddy Dom, the one with sexual experience, should be leading the way. But sometimes Wallace was the one who took him places he hadn’t realized he needed to go.
Wallace was so much braver than he was. So much more honest with himself, too, it seemed.
Volt knew that he’d been holding back from using a few of his…
odder features. He had a built-in electrostim mode that he’d used with subs in the past, but every time he thought about using it with Wallace, he held back because it was just such a…
sexbot thing. There were electrostim wands he could use, right? Like any other human?
And his genital panel was designed to be hot swappable.
Unlike replacing any other body part, which would take new programming and an integration period, he could pop his cock off and replace it with a bigger or smaller size—or a vulva—or a tentacle—without a pause.
He’d never had a favorite dick before, but after his first date with Wallace, he’d just kept using the same one.
One that was starting to feel like it was somehow more “his” than the pile of alternatives that he hadn’t looked at in weeks.
He knew he’d been avoiding those more sexbot-like features, not wanting to remind Wallace of the things that made him different. But what else had he been avoiding without even realizing it?
Volt was fortunate that Wallace was still willing to call him Daddy and look up at him with those trusting eyes when he didn’t always understand himself. God, how had he ever gotten so lucky? How could he not fall in love with this sweet, observant, beautiful boy?
“You are the sweetest little thing,” he whispered against the shell of Wallace’s ear, darting his tongue out for little kisses. “I want you to touch me. My body is yours to explore. If there’s anything you need to know, I’ll teach you. Would you like that, creampuff?”
“Yes, please, Daddy,” Wallace whispered. “Maybe I could come over on Thursday night? And stay the night before the matinee on Friday?”
Visions flashed before Volt’s eyes. Wallace in something skimpy and soft, moaning as he kissed down Volt’s body. As Volt fed his cock between those lush, pink lips. As he plunged into his baby’s tight ass.
He couldn’t wait. “Yes, baby boy. Thursday night, I’m yours.”
Wallace’s grin was breathtaking.
Volt wanted this. He couldn’t wait for this.
He just couldn’t figure out why he felt so nervous. He’d done this hundreds of times before. With hundreds of people.
Why would Wallace be any different?
“Are you okay, Daddy?” Wallace asked.
“Of course, darling. Are you done eating?”
Wallace looked down at his mostly empty plate, wiped his mouth with his napkin, and crumpled it on top. “Yes, Daddy. Thank you for joining me. This was the highlight of my day.”
Volt had to reward him with another kiss. “I’ll be looking forward to my texts today,” he reminded Wallace, not that his darling sub needed any reminders. His devotion came through in every picture. In every word. Wallace always followed their rules with fervor.
Volt got up, offering his hand to help Wallace up from the booth. Wallace paid the bill with a few flicks on his phone, took a final sip of coffee, and then let Volt guide him out of the restaurant. They lingered over kisses by Wallace’s car, but all too soon it was time to part ways.
Volt waved goodbye fondly… then turned back home to stew over why he’d been avoiding Wallace’s touch.
And whether he was ready for it even now.
