38. Volt #5

Volt crossed to his closet, pulling out a much smaller box than he had last time. He wrapped the chain around his fingers so it wouldn’t make a sound, then hid his hand behind his back.

It was only when he was standing in front of Wallace that he wondered if he was doing this wrong. Should he have made more of a production of it? Rose petals and candlelight? A special dinner first?

At the very least, he should have dressed up, maybe put on a sharp suit that would make Wallace’s mouth water and emphasize the power distance between them. He was pretty sure that was how it was supposed to be done—the sub naked and the Dom clothed.

But Wallace was here now, subtly leaning toward him without breaking position, like he just wanted to be closer.

Hopefully this was good enough.

“Wallace.” He didn’t know what words were going to come out of his mouth, so he just let them flow.

“You are the light of my life. I don’t think I realized how lonely I was, how much I was limiting myself because of my fears, until you came into my world.

Your submission honors me each day, and I hope I can bring you as much joy as you bring me.

” He paused, unsure how to transition to the next part, but Wallace stepped in.

“You do, Daddy,” Wallace affirmed, eyes still downcast. “I’ve never felt more like myself than I have with you guiding and loving me.”

Volt swallowed hard. His baby was so damned precious. “I plan to guide and love you every day.” It was an easy promise to make. “Look up, baby girl.”

Wallace complied, adoration and delight in his expression. He didn’t even look at Volt’s steadily rising dick or his algorithmically perfect musculature, but gazed right into Volt’s eyes.

Seeing him.

Volt let the collar dangle from his fingers, then brought it in front of him. He let the titanium chain slither over his fingers, the pink, heart-shaped locket dangling below. He hid the key, connected to its own matching chain, in his other hand.

“Daddy, is that…” Wallace’s voice broke.

“Creampuff, pansy, my little hamster… Will you wear my collar?”

Wallace nodded frantically, then lifted his face, exposing his neck fully. “Yes, Daddy. It’s beautiful. Please put it on me.”

Volt ran the chain around Wallace’s neck, then closed the lock with a quiet snick. The lock settled right where he wanted it, snug between Wallace’s collar bones. It was just low enough that Wallace could cover it with a shirt if he needed to, but the rest of the time it would be on display.

Wallace touched the lock reverently, fingering the inlaid whirls and the links of chain. He hadn’t even seen the inscription yet. “Daddy! When did you get this?”

Volt chuckled. “A ridiculously long time ago. I’d been waiting for… I don’t know. Until it felt like the right time.”

“So now was the right time?” Wallace grinned.

“Yeah. I think I was supposed to give it to you before the scene instead of after, but…”

Wallace pressed his face to Volt’s thigh, kissing the nearest bit of skin reverently. “This was the perfect end to the perfect scene, Daddy. And I’m your sub all the time, not just when we’re in bed. I don’t have to take it off, right?”

What had Volt done to deserve this enchanting creature in his life?

“I got it with the intention that you’d never take it off.” He showed Wallace his key, slipping the chain over his neck. “I think you won’t even be able to without this.”

Wallace looked awed. He didn’t even attempt to pull the chain over his head to test the statement. “You’ll wear my key?”

“Every day,” Volt swore. “But now I’m not sure if I made the right choice.”

Wallace clutched the lock protectively. Like he was going to fight for it.

Volt suppressed a chuckle. “I hadn’t accounted for electricity, babe.

” He touched a link, opened the panel to the glass vacuum tube in his fingertip, and gave the chain the very lightest of sparks.

Though Wallace shivered in response, Volt knew, instinctively, that it was barely a tickle.

“That’s the most I would feel comfortable doing while you’re wearing metal near your face or heart. ”

Wallace looked devastated.

“I was thinking I could get you a leather collar to replace it when we want to play with electricity again. Or faux leather. Something that doesn’t have any metal parts. You’d always have one of them on, but we’d exchange them as necessary.”

Wallace considered this. “Alright, Daddy. Thank you for my collar. It’s beautiful.” He still hadn’t really stopped touching it. Holding it and stroking it.

“Stand up, baby girl.” Volt offered his hand and led Wallace over to the mirror. Standing behind his sub, he took in the rightness of that lock around Wallace’s neck and the eager glow on his face. “There’s an inscription,” he added.

Wallace picked up the lock, trying to read it on the too-short chain, then turned it to the mirror.

“Daddy’s creampuff,” he read slowly, before turning to launch himself into Volt’s arms.

Volt picked him up to meet his eager kisses, always ready to catch him.

Always.
