Chapter 3
CHAPTER THREE
Faye
Oh, my God.
Oh. My. God.
He picked me up like I weighed nothing. Absolutely nothing.
He lifted me over the barrier and saved me from the impending mosh pit, the scary swell of the crowd and people going crazy as they threw punches in between dance moves.
Now he stood in front of me, towering over me like the damn giant he was, his chest rising and falling rapidly, a concerned look etched across his handsome, dark features. “Are you okay?”
I nodded. “I’m good.”
“Good. Those mosh pits get a little crazy. I’ll lift you back over.”
“Um, okay. Thanks?” I shouted over the loud music, unsure of the whole situation.
“No need to thank me. Only doing my job.” The strong, large man wrapped his arms around me once more and lifted me again like I weighed nothing. It was honestly alarming.
“Be careful. You don’t want to hurt yourself.”
He shot me a strange look. “Have you seen the size of me? I doubt I’d hurt anything, sweetheart. Besides, you’re just the right size. Especially for a guy like me.”
Did he just call me sweetheart?
My heart exploded.
“Why am I the only one you moved from the barrier?” I asked as he placed me down. His scent, a mixture of woodsy pine and cedar, filled my nose and turned my blood into lava.
“I think you know the answer to that.” He said close to my ear before backing up and resuming his position.
Shivers ran down my spine. Goosebumps broke out over my skin despite the hot weather.
I could barely pay attention to the music, my attention focused solely on him.
He shot me a sexy smile and while he pretended to guard as his eyes never left my body, I began to dance. For him.
Licking my lips, I swayed to the music and held his gaze the entire time. I bet he could touch my pussy once and I’d cum, that’s how damn turned on he made me.
I raised my arms in the air and moved them back and forth, slowly at first, then increasing speed, pumping my fists into the air, and getting into the music.
Every time I looked back, he still stared at me, his eyes dark and intense, sending flames through my limbs.
Lowering my arms, I moved my hands along my body, grooving to the beats, and used the barrier bar to swing my hips around.
His hands fisted at his sides, and he looked as if he wanted to eat me for dinner.
The ninety-minute set went by quickly and much to my dismay, when it ended, the crowd started to clear and my fantasy was over.
I waited for my line to move, still feeling his eyes on me. The night was over. It was fun while it lasted and I couldn’t wait to text my girls how I basically eye fucked a bodyguard. Or maybe it was dance sex. Like cheer sex in the movie Bring It On?
The thought made me laugh as I saw from the corner of my eye him walking over towards me.
“Do you need help finding your car?”
His question threw me off. “No?” I answered as a question, unsure by what he meant.
He stared into my eyes and suddenly, I understood, like a hidden message sent to my brain.
“Yes, actually I’d like that.”
“Good. Meet me out front.”
He turned and walked away, my eyes immediately falling to his ass, looking perfect in those tight jeans of his.
My disappointment in the night ending suddenly didn’t feel so disappointing.
After battling the crowd and making a pit stop at the bathroom, I headed to the entrance. Once I stepped outside, the large lights in the lot shined brightly, making it hard to believe it was night to begin with. I blinked a few times and glanced around but didn’t see any sign of the bodyguard.
Ugh, maybe this was a bad idea. I didn’t even know the guy’s name.
I looked around once more but so many people milled about, it was hard to get a sense of anything. I sighed and turned towards the lot. It was no use.
I was better off finding my car, heading home, and taking a nice, long bath.
As I stepped off the curb, a hand wrapped around my arm and my insides twisted. I yanked my arm away, an immediate jerk reaction. Until I saw who it was.
Him. The bodyguard.
“I’m sorry. There are so many people, I was afraid you’d get away.”
“Don’t be sorry. I’m glad you found me. I had given up hope.”
“Well I’m really glad I found you then. Let’s get out of here though, yeah? I don’t want to be seen flirting with our guests.”
“Uh oh. You’re breaking the rules.” I grinned as we strolled through the lot, people still flowing around us on both sides.
“I know. But sometimes it’s worth it.” His eyes shined under the bright light, deep pools of brown and my insides twisted into knots. God, he was gorgeous. A fine specimen of a man.
I wanted to climb him like a damn tree.
Calm down there, Faye…I know it’s been a minute…
My cheeks flushed, and I looked down at the ground, trying to hide the stupid smile taking over my face. But it was no use. He saw it. He saw everything.
“How about I learn what your name is? I’m Faye.”
“Nice to meet you, Faye. I’m Bear. Yes, that’s the name my parents gave me. Guess they knew I was going to be a huge guy from the start.”
I laughed. “The name does suit you quite well. Were you a big baby?”
“Yep, ten pounds of chunkiness. You should’ve seen my cheeks.” Bear grinned.
As we approached my car, I wished the night could go on longer. I didn’t want it to end.
“I would love to see. I bet you were adorable. You still are.” I flirted shamelessly. What had gotten into me? I had no clue, but he brought out something.
And suddenly, I wanted to experience it all. With him.
My big teddy bear.
“Thank you. So are you.” Bear winked, and I swooned into a puddle of horny goo.
“Well, here I am. It was nice meeting you Bear. Maybe I’ll see you around?” I smiled up at him.
He moved closer but then looked around and took a step back. “I don’t want the night to end, Faye.”
“Me either.”
“But I can’t risk my job. Can I meet you somewhere?”
“Okay. How about the bar on the boardwalk, Sandbar & Sips?”
“Perfect. See you soon.”
“Great. If anyone asks, we met there.” Bear winked again and my panties had soaked through. Damn him.
“You got it.”
As I got in my car, I watched him walk away and quickly texted my girls.
Me: You won’t believe this but…
