Didi
Acouple quiet days go by, and each day, Remy takes me to school on his bike, and I’ve settled quite nicely at the manor.
Remy and I’ve been inseparable, and he barely lets me out of his sight.
Tommy and I haven’t spoken since the first night I spent with him.
He barely looks at me, and when he does, it seems painful for him.
The boys wouldn’t discuss their visit to my place, and afterward, they looked completely ashen. Tommy went directly downstairs, where Talia has stayed with him since. That was two nights ago.
I’m on the back of Remy’s bike now, on our way to school, and it might be the closest I’ve ever been to sin.
Even more than Remy’s mouth the first day I got to the house.
The rumble of this bike alone might push me over the line into damnation.
Remy pulls into the parking lot, and I keep my body squeezed around him.
Tommy and Talia are close behind us in the Camaro.
Tommy rumbles to a stop beside us as we pull up to campus.
We make eye contact as he drives by, as he watches me with his best friend.
It’s like they live in their own little bubble, while Remy and I live in ours.
Seeing Tommy and not being able to hold him makes my heart ache.
Tommy and Talia walk hand in hand past us, and Remy pulls the bike to a stop, kicking the stand, then hopping off to help me, making sure my wig is still intact.
The best way to hide me, we decided, is in plain sight. It would draw more attention if Rose suddenly never showed up to school again.
Remy wraps his arm around me, shifting my hair behind my ear. “I’ll catch you after practice,” he says, but I notice Tina waving and walking toward me.
“I’ll be fine,” I say as she walks up to us, her eyes bulging when she sees who I’m with.
He presses a kiss to my cheek. “Okay, baby. I’m late for debate.”
Warmth spreads through my body as a smile slips onto my face as I watch him walk away.
I turn to face Tina before she can ask questions, and her eyes bulge. “Ready for class?”
“Holy heck, Rose. Do you know who that is? Remy’s the richest guy in this town.” I let out a sigh. I might be the only person in the world who doesn’t care about his blood money.
I turn my head and notice Cindy watching me from across the quad, sitting with her cheerleader friends
“Oh gosh,” Tina gasps. “Cindy is walking over to us.”
A knife twists into my stomach as she struts over in her short skirt, her perfect curls bouncing while her friends trail behind her. Holier than thou…lest she fall from grace.
Tina gawks and waves at her like she’s royalty.
Cindy ignores Tina, but her eyes meet mine as she passes, flashing with recognition.
My eyes fall, and I dart my eyes away, as the image of Remy and Tommy violating her against a tree twists my gut.
I do my best not to make eye contact, but it’s too late…our eyes meet and panic bubbles into my throat. I’ve seen Cindy through the semester, but I’ve been able to keep my distance, avoiding her at all costs.
She walks past, a small smile playing on her lips, and for the first time, she really sees me. She won’t say anything—if she knows what her father was, then she knows about the Order. She’s involved…I’m not sure how, but she is.
